Chapter 2115: Execution With Two Punches
This zombie king was a big black bird with a five hundred kilometer wingspan. It blotted out the sun when its wings were expanded. Ash-like smoke rose from its body, obscuring what its true form looked like.
There seemed to be a tiny black flame burning in the depths of the ashes.
Lu Yun could make out that the zombie king couldn’t land because it didn’t have legs. It could only hover in the sky.
The bird dived the trio the moment it appeared. A pair of crimson eyes opened in the ash and smoke; its maw yawned open as it spat a gout of black flame.
“What’s it doing here?” The two women looked at each other, both reading fear and shock in each other’s eyes. One of them raised a hand and released a tremendous surge of power, shooting out a terrifying gust of wind from her palm that blasted the flying zombie king.
The zombie king’s fire roiled back on itself and it split apart.
“That’s all it took?” Lu Yun blinked. He could tell that this zombie king was at least ten times more fearsome than the one he’d killed, but the woman had smote it to death with one palm strike!
“Go!” Both women shouted at the same time and scrambled for higher air.
Lu Yun started and immediately sensed that something was off. The zombie king seemed to be made of fire and smoke; its body reformed the moment it was shattered. The young man jumped with shock and raised his speed, trailing closely behind the women.
While they remained expressionless, he could clearly sense the terror creeping into their emotions.
Emotions?Lu Yun brightened with joy—not because the two women were afraid, but because he could sense emotions again. This was an ability from the Karmic Tree, one that he’d lost after arriving in this world. Its return signified that the long-vanished Tome of Life and Death was also reappearing in his body.
However, the ability was simply a sign that the treasure existed. He still couldn’t locate where it was.
But Lu Yun was in no hurry, it was only a matter of time before he wielded it again. Since he was far stronger than he’d been in the nothing, his reliance on the Tome of Life and Death was at an all time low. As useful as it would be to have the book, he was also fine without it. There was nothing to fear.
The ghost zombie king bore down on them—it was faster than the three of them!
“You go first.” Both women stopped and placed themselves between Lu Yun and the zombie king. “Keep going up until you see a floating palace. Don’t look back!”
They flanked the enemy and dove down, making Lu Yun jerk with surprise. The two had displayed immense arrogance from beginning to end, as if they disdained him from the bottom of their hearts. But in this crucial moment, they stood in front of him so he would have a chance to escape!
He didn’t know what to make of it. He could sense through ripples of emotion that they were utterly terrified, but completely consigned to going to their deaths.
It was no act, they really were going to go down fighting.
“Well…” Lu Yun paused and murmured to himself, “People called me the Dao Saint in the world of immortals, so I can’t give up this role now that I’m here now, can I?”
He rolled his eyes at himself and turned around, rushing the zombie king. He’d planned on concealing his strength and observing things from the background, but the women’s attitude changed his mind.
“What are you doing here?!” one of them screamed to see him.
They’d already blasted the zombie king apart a dozen times, but it regathered each time and continued attacking them like nothing had happened. In the meantime, they steadily consumed their energy reserves.
“I’m going to kick the zombie king’s ass, of course.” Lu Yun smiled radiantly and punched forward. His fist crashed into the zombie king like it was a magnificent world, interspersed with the overwhelming influence of heaven and earth.
The void trembled and the zombie king shrieked with anguish. It didn’t scatter from the blow, but it did shrink a full size smaller. The bird with a wingspan of five hundred kilometers now possessed a wingspan of two hundred and fifty kilometers.
“You…” The women’s eyes widened and they regarded the scene with disbelief. Their minds hummed, unable to make sense of what they were seeing.
This was a ghost zombie king, a tyrant of the skies and a fire demon with an undying body!
It’d mutated from an incomparably strong divine beast in reality. When armageddon arrived, it burned to death from a ball of flames that fell from the sky. After heaven and earth finished withering away, it was reborn in black flames as a fire demon.
It swallowed countless powerful cultivators after rebirth and the two women were no match for it.
“You’re still alive after one punch?” Lu Yun hooted with laughter. “Then again!”
BAM!
Black flames also exploded from his body, dying him black. The power of heaven and earth blazed around him as a vortex.
He hadn’t used his full strength when he killed the lizard-like zombie king because he hadn’t been certain what this world contained. Brashly using his full force might attract terrifying existences. But after the women’s appearance and seeing their actions, he changed his mind.
A massive organization still existed in this world. He needed to demonstrate sufficient strength to have them value, or at the very least, be wary of him.
One could not conceal one’s strength in a world that lacked hope. That would lead to ostracization and ultimately being left to fend for oneself.
Lu Yun delivered another straightforward punch that crashed into the fire demon in dominating fashion. The fire demon screeched with despair and dispersed in a shower of black flames and ashes.
The young man had taken out the fire demon that’d ravaged the skies and swallowed endless cultivators with two punches!
