Chapter 2129: Why Don’t You Run Already?
“Obliterate all signs of life that ever existed?” Lu Yun snorted when he heard the Inferno city lord’s words and couldn’t be bothered to answer. He splayed out his hand and summoned a massive bolt of lightning from it, flinging it at the city lord.
Death art, Thunder Palmstrike.
RUMBLE!!
A bolt of thunder and lightning ripped through the void and smashed down on Inferno. He paled with dismay and rapidly backed up, flaring his world of fire origin at the same time to block Lu Yun’s Thunder Palmstrike.
RUUUUUMBLE!
Lu Yun rotated his external circulation at the same time, suffusing it with bolts of aureate lightning. The purest power of heaven and earth manifested into the force of thunder and lightning.
“A world of thunder and lightning?” Inferno jumped with shock and backed up even further, watching his world of fire origin be ripped apart by bolts of lightning.
“Wrong,” Lu Yun sneered. “A world of thunder virtue.”
A world of thunder and lightning was the collection of natural force, whereas thunder virtue was the force grasped by the living, for the living!
Lu Yun swiftly pressed his advantage upon seeing the Inferno city lord fly backward. He ignored everyone around him—all of the other city lords and the ghost zombie emperors. His only target was Inferno!
Killing one Inferno city lord was a thousand times stronger than slaughtering ten thousand Bluemountain or Snowmountain city lords.
Blazemountain was startled by Lu Yun’s actions. She was far weaker than someone who’d cultivated a world of his own like Inferno. She would’ve been heavily injured, if not already dead, had Lu Yun brought out this level of strength earlier.
“He’s using himself as bait!” she gasped. “We are the fish. What does he want to do with the city lords?! Everyone, use your greatest strength to kill him!”
This person was too dangerous. He couldn’t be permitted to leave the premises alive. Blazemountain, Miu Mountain, Bluemountain, and Shaman Mountain flung themselves forward, joining efforts with Inferno to attack Lu Yun. There were one thousand ghost zombie emperors on the scene.
The violent ripples of their combat imparted a momentum of civilization to the void. Countless “something” and existences formed, on the verge of becoming a world before they were destroyed and reborn again while the powerhouses fought.
The nothing was so immense that these “something” twinkled momentarily, like a firefly in the night, before they were assimilated. All the same, the constant stream of budding existences sparkled in the dark, giving one the illusion of continued light in the gloom.
It was as if an eternal existence that could never be extinguished had come into being in the nothing.
Lu Yun fully deployed his world of thunder virtue. He ignored the other four city lords and the zombie emperors, instead focusing firmly on the Inferno city lord. He was going to take this guy out even if it resulted in grave injuries to himself!
He’d only refined a Snowmountain city lord before this, and that city lord had come into his strength only after he entered the nothing. He knew too little and most of his knowledge was vague, or even from snippets of conversation with the Blazemountain city lord.
There were many secrets that not even Blazemountain were aware of.
Lu Yun needed to refine someone of sufficient standing to gain adequate understanding of the nothing—particularly if he wished to probe the tomb of that unparalleled powerhouse and why it continued to destroy the world.
He wasn’t confident in his chances against the tomb. All he could do was to collect as much information about it as possible. A minor character like Snowmountain only knew about the tomb’s existence, but nothing else apart from that.
Inferno was one of the peak heavyweights of the nothing, he would certainly know much more. He might’ve even paid it a visit before!
Lu Yun didn’t think it likely that the city lords had never thought of defying their fate, that they’d never thought of trying to raze the tomb. Surely they hadn’t just defaulted to building cities in the nothing from day one!
He fully deployed his world of thunder virtue and stabbed through Inferno’s world of fire origin with bolts of lightning.
Inferno shrieked and wailed with horror. He read resolute killing intent in Lu Yun’s eyes. Despite being riddled with injuries from the other four city lords and a thousand ghost zombie emperors, the young man’s expression remained unchanged and he continued to furiously attack the city lord.
Inferno was nearly losing his mind.
“Madman, madman!” Inferno howled and he summoned his city. He flew into its relative safety and directed the city to ram Lu Yun.
BOOM!
A massive explosion rang out as parts of the nothing shattered, transforming into bits of “something”. Lu Yun vomited blood, but the look in his eyes remained resolute. He called upon his full strength and released it with equal intensity.
“Break!!” he screamed. The force of thunder virtue surged as he punched outward, condensing his entire world into a massive fist that collided with Inferno.
At the same time, the cities of Blazemountain, Miu Mountain, Bluemountain, and Shaman Mountain also rammed the young man. All five cities crashed into him at the same time!
A sneer curved Lu Yun’s lips as his body and the world of thunder virtue vanished without a trace.
Death art, Boundless Step.
The next moment…
Kaboom!
Five cities of nothing slammed into each other. The weakest of Bluemountain immediately vaporized while Miu Mountain and Shaman Mountain shattered into pieces. Blazemountain was heavily injured and fractured into eight sections, but remained hovering in the void. Inferno was likewise devastated, but it remained in one piece despite the ugly gashes fissuring through it.
The collision of five cities of nothing obliterated countless ghost zombies.
“Heh heh heh.” A cackling Lu Yun walked out of the void.
The Bluemountain, Miu Mountain, and Shaman Mountain city lords had died from the impact. Blazemountain heaved for air and Inferno stirred weakly.
Lu Yun strode into Inferno without hesitation and gripped the city lord’s throat, funneling hellfire into his body.
“Hellfire… reincarnation!” Inferno shrieked, but his voice couldn’t travel beyond his mouth.
Black flames burst from his body and began devouring everything that was the city lord. It refined his memories at a leisurely pace. Lu Yun flicked a glance at the fragmented Blazemountain as the process took place—her city lord lived and her body reflected the same damage that her city had suffered. She gaped with horror at the young man refining the Inferno city lord.
“Why isn’t this idiot running yet? How will the other city lords learn of my existence if you don’t escape? How will the so-called dregs know that another one of their own is out here?” Lu Yun grumbled. “I’ve already slowed down my rate of refinement by several times, so why don’t you run already?
“You’re next after I refine this old guy,” he couldn’t help but remind the Blazemountain city lord. She seemed petrified with shock.
