Afterwards, Theo’s training was put on hold so they could have lunch.
Theo made everyone’s meals, so Xena and Celia got to enjoy his cooking that day.
After lunch, it was Celia’s turn to teach Theo magic, so Xena and Helvi stepped away and watched.
Xena still did not know why Theo’s movements became better all of a sudden, so she asked Helvi, who gave her the same explanation she gave Celia.
“…So basically, he gets stronger the more you two go at it?”
“Vulgar wording aside, yes.”
“That’s not fair! So Theo’s just going to continue getting stronger without realizing it!?”
“Only a little bit at a time. It will take him a hundred years to be as strong as you two.”
“Well, he’s not going to live another hundred years. And you’re not going to be doing it all that time either.”
It was the same conversation Helvi just had.
Helvi talked about making Theo immortal, how she was already immortal, and also how they were going to live together forever.
“Uwah, that’s bragging. That’s just bragging. Good for you, I want a boyfriend or a husband like Theo too.”
“You cannot have him, but you can search for one yourself.”
“There’s not many people out there better than him. Especially in our world of mercenaries.”
They would meet many strong men, but that was not Xena and Celia’s type. Not that they were stronger than Xena and Celia anyway, and they were all crude.
They wanted a kind man like Theo, whose presence soothed them.
“Hold on. So Theo will get stronger just by doing it with you right?”
“Yes, but your wording has been very vulgar during this conversation.”
“Don’t worry about it. So does that mean that if we do…”
“Absolutely not.”
Xena was right. Anyone could become stronger via this method, not just Theo. Although Helvi would absolutely not agree with this idea.
It mattered little whether it was a man or a woman, Helvi would not give herself to anyone except Theo.
“Eh.. Why!? Just once! Just the tip!”
“…It seems you need to learn some manners, Xena.”
“I’m sorry. I will not say that again.”
The trauma from last time meant the word manners was enough to silence Xena.
At the end of the first day of training, they more or less understood the level of strength Theo possessed.
He was still weak for a mercenary, but he had become strong enough to take down two weak monsters at once.
“R-really!?”
From Theo’s point of view, who ran away if he encountered even a single weak monster, it was a tremendous improvement.
“If you improve your technique a little more, you can even take on three!”
“I-I’ll do my best!”
“I think it will be just a little more until you can use magic.”
“Magic!? D-did I become that strong!? T-this is so sudden…”
If Theo was told why he was becoming stronger, his face would surely turn completely red.
Never in a million years would he guess that doing it every day with Helvi would lead to him getting stronger.
Also, he did not know that other people knew they were doing it every day.
Such people included Xena, Celia, Fiore, and all the other receptionists.
Helvi figured this was not the sort of thing that needed to be kept a secret, so if asked, she would talk about it.
Still, she did not go into much detail.
Helvi waited until that night, when they were alone, to explain why he was getting stronger, as she felt sorry for him and did not want to talk about it right then and there.
“Thank you for today! Can I continue tomorrow?”
“Of course! You can’t learn everything in one day.”
“Yes, and the real training begins when magic manifests itself in you.”
“Thank you! But what about your quests…”
“It’s fine, we can just not accept quests for a while.”
It was not as though they had to accept quests every day or they would be short on money. In fact, they could easily not work for an entire year.
Focusing on teaching Theo for a while was not a problem for them.
“As for the reward, I want Theo’s cooking!”
“Fufu, yes. It’s worth more than money.”
“If you’re fine with that, I’ll do my best to make it!”
Theo made their meals that day, but it was decided he would continue to do so.
“You haven’t cooked dinner for us in a while…”
“Yes. How about it?”
“Hum… What do you think Helvi?”
Theo asked as he tilted his neck.
Xena and Celia also looked towards Helvi. Without her permission, they would not be having dinner with Theo’s.
(As far as something like this goes, if Theo says it is fine, then it is fine.)
They only needed permission to touch him, which included patting his head and holding hands.
Only in very rare instances would she make an exception and allow them to hold hands with him.
But they did not need permission to eat his cooking.
In fact, Theo liked cooking for others, and Helvi very much enjoyed watching Theo have fun.
“If Theo has no problem, I have no problem either. But you cannot stay the night with us.”
Helvi knew they would disturb their alone time at night.
And thus, it was decided that Theo would be making dinner for everyone that night.
