“Thank you so much Miss Helvi…!”
Said Luna’s mother with tears running down her face.
“Luna…! We are so grateful, Miss Helvi!”
Said Luna’s father while lowering his head, with a sleeping Luna in his arms.
“All I did was bring her back after I found her sleeping.”
“Where was she…?”
“…She was sleeping in some square. She seemed quite comfortable as well.”
“R-really? That’s good but…”
Luna’s father told the soldiers his daughter had been kidnapped, and left once again to inform them it was a misunderstanding.
“Miss Helvi, I can’t thank you enough…!
Said Luna’s mother after taking her to a bed in the back.
“Like I said, all I did was bring her back. There is no need to thank me.”
“But… No, forget it.”
There was a lot that did not make sense.
Why did Luna wake up early, leave the house, and go to said square in the first place? She had never done that before.
Luna’s mother figured her daughter did not just get up and go to a square. She was indeed kidnapped by someone, and rescued by Helvi.
But she chose not to ask further questions. She could not understand why Helvi was hiding the truth, but thought it could be to save them from worrying any more.
“Miss Helvi, it seems our debt to you has become even bigger…”
“You do not owe me anything. Yesterday, it was Theo who wanted to help Luna.”
If Theo did not want to help Luna, Helvi would not have done it either.
“But Mister Theo isn’t here today… You saved Luna by yourself, didn’t you?”
“…Hm, I guess.”
Helvi nodded with a little embarrassment, and the smile on the face of Luna’s mother widened.
“Thank you so much. Please let us repay you somehow.”
“There is no need… Nevermind that, how is my order coming along?”
“You… Ah, that! I’m sorry, I was working on it since you made your order yesterday, but Luna’s disappearance caused a delay…”
“I-I see. So when will it be done?”
“I want to say today but… I can guarantee you I will have it ready tomorrow morning.”
“Alright. There is no need to rush. Just focus on quality, and not speed.”
“Understood.”
Helvi seemed very cool and reliable until just a few minutes ago, but now she was an adorable girl thinking about making the boy she liked happy.
After being sincerely thanked once again, Helvi left the store.
This troublesome affair was over, at least for now.
“Punishing that trash took some time… I left Theo waiting.”
Helvi went to the back alley where no one could see her, and used her teleportation magic.
Her destination was the room she shared with Theo in the high class inn, where she thought he would be waiting.
“Hn? Theo is not here…”
She looked around, but did not see him. She even checked the bathroom and the bath, but he was nowhere to be found.
(Did he go somewhere…? Was he kidnapped…!?)
An unpleasant thought crossed her mind, but not for long, as she noticed a piece of paper sitting on the table.
Since she also received a letter when Luna was kidnapped, her bad feeling became worse for just a second, before she actually read it and felt relieved.
She noticed right away it was Theo’s handwriting.
Theo wrote ‘I’m going for a walk in town!’ on the piece of paper, and where he was going as well.
He went to the area around the capital’s guild to look around the weapons and armor stores, and see what was being sold to mercenaries.
“Fufu… Theo is a man after all. He likes weapons.”
She learned before that Theo liked cool looking weapons.
Apparently the dagger he had been using was quite worn-out.
There were not many good weapons stores in Nemophila, so maybe it would be a good idea to find a replacement in the capital.
“Hm, it could also serve as a memento of our trip to the capital. I am sure Theo will be happy.”
Said Helvi as she left the room, and headed towards where Theo said he went.
She could teleport herself there, but decided to walk for her own amusement. Also, since Theo walked there, she wanted to do so as well.
The quickest way to go to him would be to look for him via magic, and teleport herself to his side, but…
(Bumping into him in town sounds fun.)
She thought as she hummed and walked.
It was a good way to put the trash disposal she had to do earlier out of her mind.
However… She would soon regret not going through with the fastest method.
