In the sky, Utu's concealed forces rained destiny bolts and divine projectiles, sending a deluge of biblical proportions to smother and obliterate Mithras' retainers. At the rear, a pair of elderly gods held an hourglass, the gates of a celestial world slowly opening at their back.
Underneath, another portal opened, its tall silver gate connecting the Spiritual World to the Temple of Meditations. On both sides, opposing troops threw trump cards at the gates, desperately trying to close them before reinforcements tipped the scales. Their leaders led their charge, dropping on one another in a gory slaughter.
With Ishtar at the helm, the Blood Disciples hacked through the enemy lines, cleaving a path towards Utu, who watched in rage as screens of World Smelting Flames kept him out of Vel's way.
"Nabu!" Utu howled at the sky, and to Menaka's shock, a mummified version of Nabu's corpse reformed at Utu's feet—rippling with a frigid flux of malignant energies.
[Veridic Incorporation]
Utu swiped at his twin, ripping Nabu apart, and fusing with his remains. In that instant, Utu's Sid level skyrocketed, in a flash peaking...at a whopping 10 million!
The runic mark for "Great" formed on his forehead, and if the Weaver's own laws didn't prevent foreign entities from crossing the Imperfect Brahman threshold, Nabutu would have no doubt reached heights that transcended even Balmaria.
"Slaughter them!" Nabutu ordered, a blinding flash of light erupting from his corona and forcing open the divine portal. A white sun formed above Nabutu's corona, its overwhelming pressure crashing on the Blood Disciples as a cohort of demigods walked out of the heavenly gates.
More deities from the Fate Pantheon led the demigods, directly crashing in the Blood Disciples' flank and sending them reeling!
Nabutu led by example, blasting through Hakim's World Smelting Flame with sheer force of Divine Power! Warghests and constructs collapsed in droves, overwhelmed by an offensive of unprecedented proportions. But in that instant, four golden spears surrounded Nabutu, forcing the deity to dematerialize and reform out of reach.
A suffocating cloud of infernal energies dropped on the battlefield, keeping gods and demigods at bay as four Yakshini demonesses appeared in the sky. All dressed in divine armor plates, the four archfiends rode colossal, winged beasts, a mesmerizing set of black and white halos flashing above their helmets as they lined up between Vel'Asha and her enemies.
In each life, Radu would have his legs crushed at his son's sixth birthday, eventually pushed to give up his life for the Weaver's devotees. Afterward, that very son would mature into the Sun's Adversary, indirectly helping the Weaver find and hunt down Mithras in each lifetime.
Meanwhile, a fragment of Radu's consciousness has been watching it all from within his eternal prison—driven mad by despair a very long time ago.
The Weaver is a petty creator, you see." Just as stunned as Hakim, Utu rattled off.
Never in his wildest dream could the Veridi imagine that his lord and ancestor had kept the Blood God's consciousnesses here in the Spiritual World.
Radu's eternal prison was inside the Altar. Had Nabutu been aware of this little detail. He would have never set foot in the Spiritual World.
'His Excellency's assignments are often unreasonable. Sometimes you gotta say no...or gramps will set you up with a smile on his face,' Overpowered by Radu's aura, Nabutu remembered Heruka's warnings—cursing himself for not taking the Weaver's First Devotee more seriously.
Nabutu was not the only frightened god. From the elderly gods guarding the divine portal to the heavenly beings crushing the Abominations' bones, not one god dared to move an inch—petrified by the Blood Hunter's glower.
But time passed and the Blood Gods made no move. Their auras went through the roof, and yet they stayed still. Worse, the Blood Disciples too now failed to budge. Something wasn't right.
Trajan was only planning to release the Blood Gods and let them rampage through the enemy line. He never expected them to resonate with Mithras' blood and go through these transformations.
Now Trajan himself had gotten bogged down by the ritual—trapped and unable to regain control before the Blood Gods had completed their awakening!
The crew's luck had backfired.
This...was a catastrophe!
"HAHAHAHA!
HAHAHAHA! How could I forget? FATE IS ON OUR SIDE!" Nabutu burst into laughter, ignoring Vel to launch an all-out offensive at Ishtar and the Blood Disciples!
