Chapter 108: Meeting the King, or not

"The prince?" Reina suddenly asked.

"The prince? He is in second place on the notice board This won't give me problems will it?" Thea asked as she looked at Reina.

"Uhm, I don't think so. Rumors say that prince Klaus is kind and gentle" Reina said but didn't sound completely sure about it.

"How did you get a 100 on your theoretical though? Didn't you write down jokes? And wasn't the last question unanswerable?" Mia asked, remembering what Thea had said previously.

"Hmm, good point, although the last question wasn't too hard, I shouldn't have gotten a 100 with the answers I gave." Thea said as she started thinking about it.

"Everyone listen up! Instructor Jim will lead the students who aren't on the notice board to the courtyard, your parents are already waiting there. While I will bring those of you that have passed to your parents who are waiting somewhere else, from there I will give you a tour of the academy before you can chose your rooms. The top 10 students have priority picks on the rooms they want." The headmistress explained.

'Hmm, so me and Mia can choose our own room?' Thea thought as Mia placed 7th on the list.

Instructor Jim then led the majority of the students away, leaving exactly 200 students standing in front of the headmistress.

Some of the failed students started crying and shouting foul words, but in the presence of the instructor and headmistress, they didn't dare do anything but be led away.

The 200 students then followed the headmistress as she led them to see their parents.

The students were once again walked for a few minutes before they reached a huge open ballroom type of building, except there were coffee tables and couches littered across the room.

The kids led by the headmistress dispersed, either looking for their parents or their parents coming to them, congratulating them.

Thea and the girls followed the example of the other students and walked around the room, looking for their parents.

It didn't take long before they heard Johns loud voice, calling out to his daughters.

Thea and Mia followed the twins, guessing they would find Lily in Johns proximity.

"Althea Ewald greets the king." Thea said as she performed a perfect curtsy.

'That was perfect! Or not' Thea thought as she heard her mother snickering in the background.

"The king?" Reisa asked. Mia and Reina asking similar questions.

"That's not the king though." Thea heard John say.

'Ohh' Thea realized her mistake and used her [Draconic Mana Eyes] to look at the mana around the king, and true to her guess there was a layer of mana covering his body.

'Shit' Thea inwardly cursed as she realized, just like John at the gate, the king was in disguise.

"Ahahah, I made a mistake! A mistake, yeah. Sir what should I call you?" Thea tried to play it off as a mistake, instead in panic, she started to talk to the king formally to try and trick the others.

The kings eyes though twitched again as he heard Thea talking formally to him even when she knew his identity. He hesitated for a second but ended up answering.

"My name is Ivan Ironclad, a baron from outside the city. It is a pleasure to meet you Althea." The king said but his tone didn't exactly match his words.

"Fufufu, girls give your greetings and tell me how the entrance exam went." Lily cut in as she beckoned for Thea and Mia to sit down on the couch.

The other girls then gave their greetings before the group started listening to Reisa who was making an epic speech about how Mia and especially Thea fought.

John and the king looked at Thea in surprise as they listened to Reisa talk about her fight with the instructor, which only stopped when the headmistress came.

Lily then asked about the theoretical test as she expected as much from Thea.

Thea then talked about the theoretical exam and its questions but asked a question instead.

"How would I be able to get 100 points if I didn't answer all the questions seriously?" Thea asked.
