He unwrapped the sugar and stirred it, melting the cube as he watched Sehun from afar. At the very least, he intended to slowly analyze the other’s facial expression, but in a twist of fate, Sehun’s meeting ended, and the older lawyer exited the room. With a serious face, Sehun was discussing something with the other partner lawyers. The senior lawyers busily reported to Sehun, occupying his time.
Because he was a head taller than average, Sehun was clearly in the line of sight. As always, he looked excellent in his fine suit. It matched his prim face and frigid eyes. Yoonshin was sure that Sehun would smell good if he was closer to him.
As if he had never felt uncomfortable about anything, he was leading the discussion exceptionally well.
‘Maybe I was mistaken. I thought he was in a bad mood… But he looks fine now.’ Yoonshin didn’t know if he was just overthinking things or if Sehun’s professional mentality was just strong. If it was the former, nothing happened today that bothered Sehun, which would be a relief.
Quite frankly, when Yoonshin was initially probing around, he had shallowly hoped that Sehun could help him solve his sister’s problem because he couldn’t see a solution, no matter how he looked. But upon careful contemplation, Yoonshin could deduce Sehun’s precise reaction would be if he made that request.
Yoonshin knew that Sehun was attracted to him, but that was probably because the older man didn’t know Yoonshin’s situation. Based on what Yoonshin saw so far, Sehun wasn’t a person who could place his emotions before his work. Sehun could completely let go of Yoonshin without looking back. Yoonshin didn’t want that anymore. He wanted to know what the other man was as a person thoroughly.
Thus, he needed to hide the misfortunes that had befallen his sister.
Yoonshin thought he did well to heed his sister’s warning and avoid telling Sehun her problem.
‘If I were Sehun Kang, how would I resolve my sister’s situation? Would publicity be the only way after all?’
The media was a double-edged sword. If he used it well, it could be of great help. However, he needed to take into consideration that most of the media companies were closely tied to the wealthy class. It would be good to deliver the truth, but they probably wouldn’t let that happen.
To fight back, his sister would need a large law firm or a greatly influential lawyer to adeptly use the media in retaliation, but Yoonshin couldn’t handle such a task.
‘Considering the amount of work Soohan gives them, Doguk wouldn’t side with her either.’
There was nothing better than Sehun to help calm his tumultuous feelings and seek balance in his mind. Yoonshin continued to stare outside the room. Then, despite the distance, Sehun felt his gaze and turned to look in Yoonshin’s direction. He said something to the partners before he approached the kitchenette.
Surprised, Yoonshin looked around for a place to hide. But of course, there was no corner like that in the room.
“What the hell? Why is he coming here?” Not knowing what to do, he scrambled with his cup in his hand. The door to the kitchenette opened.
Standing in the doorway, Sehun beckoned to Yoonshin. Worried that Sehun caught him snooping, Yoonshin pointed to himself and asked, “M-me?”
“Is there anyone else here but you?” Sehun asked back.
“I was only here to make myself a cup of coffee.”
“Of course, you must have been, considering the purpose of this room. I didn’t say that was wrong.” Sehun frowned and shot him a questioning look. Yoonshin shut his mouth and attempted an awkward grin. Sehun merely waved him off and turned, seemingly heading back to his office.
