Village Hercula (2)

Kyrie, who was paying attention to his restless gestures, glared at him,

“Say it, I don’t want to waste time, so hurry it up.”

“There is a …small mountain village close by!”

The guide shouted urgently.

“A mountain village?”

Kyrie looked down on the map, no such villages were mentioned.

The guide rubbed his hands, which were turning red due to the cold.

“The village Hercula is one which is not on the map! This is not known to the young lady, but there is a decent inn there!”

“Aren’t the villages mentioned on the map good enough to have an inn?”

“You’re not playing a weird trick on us, are you?”

In an instant, Sir Valdir pulled out his sword.

The guide who saw him fell to the floor like a lightning bolt.

“I would never! I just thought that we’d die if it went on like this…! Village Hercula is a place that doesn’t involve outsiders, but now that things have become like this…..”

“They don’t accept outsiders?”

“You’re going to take the lady to such a mysterious place?!”

“It’s a closed village, so it’s not a dangerous place! I promise you this!”

Even while he was speaking, his eyes shook several times.

“I don’t…. I really don’t want to die, please save me!”

His hand that was shaking on the ground was dangerous enough to freeze him.

‘It would be extremely dangerous to stay like this, but I’m suspicious that he would leave us stranded alone and will run away.’

Valdir looked as if he were making a life-or-death decision, but Kyrie stopped him.

“Alright, let’s go there.”

“My lady!”

Kyrie shrugged.

“We are all stuck up here anyways, it would be better if we continue.”

Above all, Kyrie had a good eye for people.

At least it didn’t feel like the guide had a bad heart. Besides, she was curious, it’s a village that’s not even on the map due to it being in extreme seclusion.

Kyrie, who sat down again after closing the carriage door, smiled.

“Excited aren’t we, MaryAnne?”

MaryAnne laughed brightly, brushing off the snow on Kyrie’s hair.

“MaryAnne is also looking forward to it! MaryAnne will be happy if the lady is too!”

“Thank you, MaryAnne”

Kyrie was surprised at once,

The entrance to the village was hidden by magic.

When the guide touched a stone statue standing on the edge of a snowy road, the forest which was there suddenly faded and a bridge then appeared.

“The magic casted is strong enough to hide a whole village?”

It seemed to be possessed by something.

Kyrie was once again surprised by the fact that the village was far more developed than expected.

“How…..?”

The village seen when through the carriage window was beautiful and neat.

However, Kyrie felt strange.

The entire village was quiet, but the silence had the power to make people shrink.

Kyrie arrived at the inn without finding the reason why.

It was a luxurious three-story inn.

The guide went in first, and the innkeeper opened his eyes widely when he noticed Kyrie and her company coming in.

“You…..”

“I’m sorry. I made a mistake…”

“No matter how I look at it!”

“I’ll stay here quietly until the snow stops and will wear a mask too…”

Kyrie looked around the lobby on the first floor of the inn,

The walls were full of a child’s clumsy pictures, but there was only one old woman who kept the fireplace lit.

“I feel like an uninvited guest.”

In response to Kyrie’s words, the guide was surprised and rubbed his palms.

“Oh, please don’t feel that way at all! I’m sorry, it’s a town where only a few outsiders visit by…..hehehe.”

“Whatever it is, please guide me to a room. Everyone is tired, so we need to rest.”

“No problem! Anderson, please guide my lady to a room!”

The owner of the inn, whose name was Anderson, stood up while staring at the guide with deep eyes.

“I’ll take them because I have no other option, but you’d better not be so pious, aristocrat. I warn you this.”
