You Committed a Felony (2)

[The capital is still Sel Arellano?]

“Yes.”

[How has Sel been]

“The palace is still a symbol of the beautiful capital.” (T/N: There is no confirmed meaning of Sel given by the author. )

[Leschaux.] 

Leschaux?  Kyrie narrowed her eyebrows for a moment and then recalled that it was the name of the Patriotic Knight.

“If you’re talking about The Patriotic Knight- Sel Leschaux, they were still in Sel Arellano.” (T/N: She is using ‘they’ because she is using honorifics. In Korean one could use honorifics unlike in English)

“Although they never made an appearance on the official occasion, we heard sightings about once or twice a year.”

This was the first time that a man’s eye showed that he was touched. 

It was like an expression when someone heard the news of a person whom they hadn’t seen for a long time.

Kyrie laughed at her thoughts after a while.

‘It doesn’t make sense. The Patriotic Knight has not appeared anywhere for more than 100 years already.’

The man asked as she shook her head and dismissed her baseless thoughts.

[How’s life?]

“What do you mean?”

[In my time, seven powerful families used to fight for power like a group of foxes.]

“That is still the case.”

[Oh. It’s still pathetic.]

Kyrie didn’t answer, politely looking down. The word pathetic was not false, and the cane regularly bobbed at the edge of view.

He shifted his attention to Kyrie.

[How did you get into this town? There must have been a ban.]

“It’s because of the snow storm passing by…”

[What else?]

“Other….something?”

The man lazily raised his chin.

Under the white hand, the cane wobbled to an alarming degree. 

A simple black cane without an ornament, with a handle made of white metal.

The shape of the shaking of the tip made Kyrie very anxious. 

The man opened his eyes thinly and smiled as if he had intended it in the first place.

[The taboo is from Vallabriga Owrenbridge. That’s why I have been asleep for a long time….. And it’s you who woke me up.]

It was the first time she heard it. 

The royal family Orewinbridge is of outstanding wizard lineage. On the other hand, Kyrie was not even a wizard.

“I didn’t do anything. Aren’t you mistaken?”

[No. It’s you, Buchanan.]

She heard a small, elegant sound first, she wasn’t able to distinguish whether it was a sigh or a smile.

[It’s weird.]

The man looked at her.

It was a silent gaze without a blink. Clearly aimed at spying. 

If you were really lying, you would have swallowed your saliva but she really didn’t know what she was doing.

Also Kyrie was not more of a pathetic character than necessary in any situation. That’s not like a nobleman.

“Yes, it’s a mystery.”

She replied deliberately with a cold smile to hide her fear. For a while the two looked at each other in silence.

The man who had been staring at Kirie coolly for a while, immediately breathed out deciding to change the atmosphere.

[Where are you headed to?]

“We’re heading for Elsus.”

The man laughed slowly.

[Great town, you don’t look like you need to take care of yourself and you don’t want to take a rest this season, so that’s self-reflection.]

It was a bewildering remark made to the point where the situation was right. Kyrie forgot the time and even felt a little shame.

Instead of mentioning such a trifle, the man pulled up the raised cane.

[I think I will have to go to Sel Arellano to find out the situation. After work at Elsus, you will go to the capital, right? I’ll take care of it.]

“But…….”

Surprised Kyrie opened her mouth reflexively and paused. The man gently lifted a finger and interrupted Kyrie’s words.

[Buchanan.]

The man’s smile and words were as cold as a frozen star.

[You have commited a felony on the ban by the first king. What if the royal family discovers this? Having me next to you would only be beneficial to you.]
