CH 11

Name:Obey Me Author:
Nathaniel (1)

2. Nathaniel

[I am Nathaniel.]

He said.

[People here call me ‘The End’.]

“Because you are a benefactor who greatly helped the Count Buchanan, please take care not to fall short of your treatment.”

The people looked questionably at the identity of the man who suddenly appeared. However, surprisingly, despite the lack of explanation, they all agreed.

It was the attitude of a young lady who had never done anything rubbish that would have a hidden meaning.

Kyrie was a little relieved.

Nathaniel, on the other hand, acted like a man who had never been restrained by others in his life.

[Are you Buchanan’s escort Knight?]

“Yes.”

As soon as he saw Valdir, he asked so. Then he looked up and down at the stiffened Valdir.

Nathaniel narrowed his eyes and displayed something like a smile.

[That’s pretty good.]

Those were words that strangely stimulated people’s competitive spirits. Fortunately, Valdir did not respond to them.

“Thank you.”

However, after Nathaniel got into the carriage, Valdir looked at Kyrie with a slightly uneasy expression.

“Miss. That person…….”

“Don’t ask me any more. He’s not a dangerous man.”

“Really….?”

“No……. Probably.”

Kyrie wasn’t sure. Valdir smiled as he saluted with his hand on his chest.

“I don’t know what’s going on. But if something happens, I will protect you.”

“Thank you.”

There was not much time until departure.

Kyrie quickly led the innkeeper Anderson to the courtyard behind the inn.

“Tell me everything you know.”

Anderson looked at Kyrie with deep, heavy eyes.

“How did it happen?”

“Since this has already happened, there is not enough time to explain it. What do you know? What is this town, and who is that person?”

Anderson slowly turned his head and looked in the direction of the carriage.

His gaze was blocked by the inn building, but he trembled as if he was seeing someone who should not be seen.

“It is called The End.”

“You mean the ‘End’ in history books?”

“We don’t know.”

“You don’t know?”

“He lived a very long time. We grew up listening to stories about the ‘End’ who fell asleep in this area from the days of our grandfather’s grandfather… or even before that.”

Anderson quickly sat down on an empty wooden box nearby, struggling like an old man.

“No one knows who he is, but we only know that this village was built for him.”

“For him?”

“We don’t know if it’s to keep it or to seal it. I just grew up listening to it. ‘The End’ is asleep in this land, so do not wake him. It’s okay on a snowy day, but never go out on a snowy night…”

“What if I go out?”

Anderson replied, rubbing his head.

“I don’t know.”

“What… whoo.”

Kyrie realized that she was about to get excited about this mysterious story.

“What are you talking about?”

“I do not know. It just disappears. Like a person who has never existed…….”

Anderson’s words were like dead wells with unknown depths.

After hearing the words that seemed to be roaring inside him, Kyrie found many children’s paintings on the wall of the inn.

But she had never seen a child anywhere.

“By any chance, did your child do that?”

Anderson gave a lifeless smile.

“Did you think there was another nobleman in this place? That’s what I thought, too.” (T/N: meaning he says ‘did u thought someone else was here? Even I thought so too’ in short there were no Children from the start)

Kyrie stumbled unknowingly.

Even though she thought such a thing couldn’t be possible, a man who seemed to make it possible was now in her carriage.

“Has this ever happened before?”

Realizing she was thirsty, she gulped once.

”When he goes out like this… and appears…”

“No. “

Anderson shook his head.

“Even though he was occasionally seen by children in the middle of a snowy night, he had never really appeared like a ‘person’.”

Anderson’s eyes seemed to ask.

But you did. What in the world did you do?

Kyrie looked back on her actions.

She only remembered being stuck in a room unfairly.

“If not, that person… the probability that he is a normal human.”

“Ha.”

Anderson burst into laughter at her words. But his face grimaced before speaking with an incredulous tone.

“Do you really think so? Even after you saw him?”

Kyrie didn’t answer.

She didn’t believe her own words. Anderson put his hand on his lap.

The middle-aged man, who grew up hearing the story of ‘The End’ from the days of his grandfather’s grandfather’s grandfather, began to speak with a strange tone.

“Look, aristocrat. There is no law that states people cannot distinguish people apart.” (T/N: meaning there is no way a person cannot recognise an unusual/dangerous person)

He spoke as if each word held immeasurable weight.

As if his voice would tremble if he didn’t.

“I mean, you can tell whether a person is crazy or not just by looking at the light in the person’s eyes.” (T/N: Haha wow the author explained it here….THEN WHY DID YOU CONFUSED US WHILE DESCRIBING THE SETTING OF THIS WORLD!?)

“……”

“But, how can he… be an ordinary human?”

Anderson’s face crumpled before he finished speaking.

He barely managed to finish his words without trembling, but by the time he had finished, his hands, which had been gripping his knees tightly, had turned white.

Anderson pointed out correctly.

That was exactly what Kyrie felt from Nathaniel.

She smiled bitterly while holding onto the wooden pole next to her.

“Yes. It can’t be.”

A god-like appearance, high-quality clothes, noble and graceful behaviors.

A natural-borne arrogance which gave the impression that even the moon and stars in the sky were at his fingertips. (T/N: I want Nathaniel….is it too much for me to ask?)

There is an incomprehensible air of dignity surrounding him, and what could not be seen exudes the smell of unrefined power and barbarism. (T/N: I would pretend I didn’t translate or read this line)

She refused to believe in the reality that was being laid out in front of her.

All her intuition pointed at one thing and that was the difference between her and him.

But Anderson put an end to her optimism. (T/N: Reality hits you like a truck)

“To add, there are no residents like that in Hercula. I’m sure you know that this village is not a good place to go out in such light clothes.”

Kyrie blinked without replying.

Her thoughts were not easily organized.

He was a man who could quickly get rid of traces of heavy snow, even if she did not want to take him right away.

She hoped that she could get away from him somehow.

‘You really said I woke up such a strange being?’

Kyrie breathed deeply, covering her eyes with her hand.

“Ok. Is there anything else going on in this area?”

“That’s it. “

Anderson hesitated and asked.

“Are you going to take him?”

“That’s right.”

At the unexpected calm answer, Anderson made an indescribable look.

“If he’s really what people call ‘The End’ and this town was built for him, then this town won’t be as it is now when he leaves. So, let’s do our best.”

“…I’ve never heard that from an aristocrat.”

“I’m honored. “

Anderson laughed while standing up and bowed deeply to Kyrie like how servants do.

It was awkward and clumsy, but it was a serious and heavy move.

“Cheer up, sir. “

“You too. “
