"Young Master Pei is back?,” the gatekeeper warmly welcomed the return of the master.

Pei Xuan nodded in response, and walked into the courtyard.

She wondered if she was overthinking things. After all, if people don't see something, how can they know it's there? As she walked through the long corridor with a serious expression, the servant following her didn't dare to speak.

The weather was pleasant, and dusk was approaching. Bai Tang escorted Cui Ti outside for some fresh air and noticed Pei Xuan entering the courtyard.

She was about to speak, but Pei Xuan gestured for her to keep quiet, wanting to surprise Cui Ti.

To this, Bai Tang was happy to comply.

Cui Ti's delicate body had been resting for almost a day, and her movements were still a bit awkward as she walked with Bai Tang's support. Pei Xuan couldn't help feeling guilty as she observed her wife's condition.

She knew that Cui Ti had to depend on Bai Tang's support because she was born blind, and no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't see. However, Pei Xuan's mind was in turmoil, wondering if it was a coincidence or not.

As she contemplated, she realized that it was not a coincidence. Her wife was born blind, and because of this disability, the Xining family treated her harshly.

This realization made Pei Xuan feel bewildered.

How could I ever doubt my wife?

Sitting on a chair under the tree, Cui Ti held a fluffy rabbit on her lap. Pei Xuan gazed at the rabbit, and the memory of teasing Cui Ti flashed through her mind when she caressed the rabbit’s body and ears…

The image of Cui Ti blushing and snatching the rabbit away came to mind.

With suspicions lingering in her mind, Pei Xuan approached her quietly.

"Husband hasn't come back yet?,” Cui Ti inquired.

Bai Tang looked towards the approaching figure and replied seriously, "No, he hasn’t.”

Cui Ti hugged the rabbit tightly and remained silent, wishing to see her husband.

As Shou, Rou, and Bai Tang slipped away quietly, only the couple remained in the courtyard. Shortly after, the faint sound of footsteps reached Cui Ti’s ears, and she raised her head to look.

Pei Xuan froze in her tracks, holding her breath and observing Cui Ti closely.

"Who? Who's there?"

Cui Ti could see her, but she was not fully prepared to confess the truth.

Seeing that she wasn’t pretending, Pei Xuan suddenly felt absurd. How could she expect a blind person to suddenly regain their sight one day?

"Who's there? Is it husband?," Cui Ti asked hesitantly, grabbing onto her clothes.

"It's me," Pei Xuan replied, approaching her side and holding her hand. "Wife, it's me."

"Why didn't you speak then?.”

"I..." Pei Xuan smiled: "I was dumbfounded."

She stretched out her hand and waved it in front of Cui Ti's eyes, but she got no response, and her suspicious and joyful heart sank to the bottom of a valley.

Her brain must have been kicked by a donkey.

It's just a coincidence. It's impossible for her to have everything in the world, but her wife is already perfect.

Pei Xuan squeezed into the small wooden chair with her: "I bought glutinous rice cakes, are you hungry, let's have a bite first?.”

As she opened the paper bag, the aroma of freshly baked rice cakes wafted out.

They were delicacies sweet and soft in the mouth, as Cui Ti took a small bite, with Pei Xuan following suit.

"How is it?,” Pei Xuan inquired with her gentle and caring tone.

Cui Ti, who was still feeling shy, was uncomfortable due to the pain she endured the whole night. It was partly caused by her own anxieties since she had never consummated with someone before and she didn't expect it to be so awkward and embarrassing.

"It's much better," Cui Ti replied, her voice sounding a bit muffled. Fortunately, Pei Xuan was sitting close enough to hear her clearly, and they both blushed at the same time.

"Want another bite?" Pei Xuan offered, holding out another piece of the delicious rice cake.

Cui Ti enjoyed cuddling up to Pei Xuan, and her red lips parted slightly as if inviting her to feed her.

Seeing her gesture made Pei Xuan start to think wildly: "I, shall we go back to our room?.”

Pei Xuan's mind wandered to wanting to kiss Cui Ti, but she hesitated to do so in the open yard.

Understanding Pei Xuan's intentions, Cui Ti wanted to scold her for thinking of that but responded with a soft compromise.

As they entered the room, the door behind them closed.

Cui Ti leaned against the door with her back, and her heart felt like it would jump out of her throat. She secretly thought that she was worthless since they were already husband and wife, yet her legs were very weak.

"Wife.."

"Nice!”

Pei Xuan kissed the glutinous rice sticking to her lips: "You look like a little cat."

Cui Ti's face flushed with heat, "Ah, yes, do I?."

Pei Xuan let out her tongue playfully then licked the corners of her own lips, not realizing how alluring she looked.

"I'll help you, okay?.”

Cui Ti moved her body close to Pei Xuan in frustration, and whispered in her ear: "You are so troublesome, you can kiss me if you want..."

She had gone a whole day without seeing or feeling Pei Xuan's warmth, and the loneliness had crept in.

When they arrived for dinner, Mr. Pei and Mrs. Pei had already sat down and the food was on the table, but the two arrived late.

"Father, mother, I..."

"No worries, sit down.”

Pei Xuan felt like she couldn’t even lift her head after doing something naughty behind closed doors.

After dinner, Pei Xuan was called to discuss political affairs in her father’s study room, and Cui Ti walked with her mother-in-law to digest the food.

"Cui, Mother has to apologize to you."

She confessed that she sent someone to put incense in the furnace last night.

Knowing the purpose of this incense, Cui Ti felt relieved, as long as it isn’t a serious thing, she has a good temper and doesn't mind it.

The sky soon turned dark. After taking a bath, Pei Xuan acted as a teacher, teaching her wife to learn how to read and write. After finishing the half-hour class, Cui Ti lost the energy to do anything else and being so tired, she was carried to bed by Pei Xuan.

With their relationship now stronger, they no longer needed to resort to putting powder in the incense burner, which saved them a lot of trouble.

At this moment, in the bed, Pei Xuan looked down and saw Cui Ti's flushed face

"Another kiss?"

After being kissed to sleep for several nights in a row, Cui Ti had become accustomed to it and couldn't fall asleep without a kiss. In her previous lives, she had only been able to request Pei Xuan for such affection.

Pei Xuan placed a gentle kiss on her forehead.

Cui Ti snuggled into her arms and tugged at the hem of her clothes, signaling that it wasn't enough.

Understanding her intention, Pei Xuan's face grew hot and she whispered into her ear: "Don't complain later, I can’t resist either…”

A soft laughter filled the room, illuminated by the warm glow of the incense burner. Cui Ti couldn't help but think to herself: ‘Is she still a woman? She dared to tease her earlier, but now she's too shy to follow through.’

Pei Xuan was left laughing joyously, not knowing where to put her hands and feet.

But her heart was filled with joy and she said sternly, "I'll wait for you till your body recovers so don't worry wife, I'm fine."

She was very understanding.

Unless it's truly irresistible.

Cui Ti hugged her and pondered, it wasn't that she was too insatiable, but she had actually consummated with Pei Xuan and it still felt like a distant dream.

After half an hour, the moon hung high in the sky as Cui Ti fell asleep, and Pei Xuan stole a kiss from her lower lip, licking it carefully before closing her eyes in guilt.y

In her dream, she saw many rabbits, some with long tails and others with short tails, and a girl holding them. The girl smiled and covered her mouth, saying, "Silly, I've seen you for a long time!.”

It was dawn, and Pei Xuan laughed out loud in her dream.

"Why didn't you tell me when you saw me, wife? Now, I will punish you!.”

"Punish me for what?"

Pei Xuan said as she paced back and forth, suddenly smiling. "You will be punished to be forever with me, whether I'm a man or a woman, you will be my wife."

"I wish I could do so,” the girl replied.

Suddenly, the dream darkened, and a dark cloud covered their heads. The rabbits turned into rabbit spirits and kidnapped Cui Ti.

Pei Xuan chased after them anxiously, shouting, "Let go of my wife! Let her go!.”

Plop!

Pei Xuan fell off the bed.

The loud noise startled Cui Ti, and her subconscious habit as a blind woman to touch what is around her, but when she did so, there wasn’t any warmth.

Because of this, she woke up immediately and called out!

"Husband!?.”

The inner room was dim, and a fall from the bed was enough to wake Pei Xuan up completely. She was afraid that Cui Ti would bump into her without knowing it, so she hurriedly said, "I'm here! I'm fine!.”

Cui Ti got out of the bed, and seeing the person lying on the ground struggling to get up, she said distressingly: "Husband?.”

"Huh? Don't—"

Before she could continue her sentence, Cui Ti had already supported her arm: "How is it, did you break it?."

"It's not made of dough, how can it be so easy to break?" Pei Xuan reassured her, admiring her delicate body in a hibiscus-colored small dress. Her concern for her grew into a tender embrace, her fingers turning soft as she held her close.

She hugged her so tightly that Cui Ti couldn't breathe.

"Wife." Pei Xuan let go of the person in her arms, stared at her eyes without blinking, and asked, “Can you see me?.”

"..."

Cui Ti suddenly felt like a timid kitten, shivering in the cold. "I..." she faltered, unable to find the words to express herself.

Pei Xuan placed her palm over Cui Ti’s heart, feeling the rapid and chaotic beat. This was more than words, it was a palpable sign that she could see her.

It was too incredible to put into words.

She was left dumbfounded.
