(Too evil)
"Is this a dream?" Cui Ti's voice trembled with uncertainty.
"No," came the simple reply.
Cui Ti fell into a brief silence, feeling her toes curling involuntarily under Pei Xuan's gaze. She nervously moved her hands and spoke in a hoarse voice, "You go first..."
Blushing, her face turning a shade of red, she continued, "Use a veil to wipe your face first, and then help me cover myself."
Caught off guard by Cui Ti's request, Pei Xuan felt her own cheeks flush with embarrassment. Hastily, she wiped away the water stains on her face, stealing a glance at Cui Ti's delicate and rosy form. Her heart burned with a mixture of emotions as she quickly wrapped her in a luxurious brocade quilt.
Cui Ti, now concealed under the quilt, gazed at Pei Xuan. Her limbs felt weak, a clear sign of having endured great physical exertion. She couldn't fathom how Pei Xuan could be capable of such things, and amidst her confusion, a sense of shyness overcame her.
She voiced her question, "What happened?.”
Upon being questioned about the matter at hand, Pei Xuan's racing heart gradually settled, and she spoke softly, "Can we discuss it while lying down?"
She, too, was weary, longing to rest and converse.
As soon as the words escaped her lips, Cui Ti pulled the thin quilt up, covering most of her face. Previously, Pei Xuan could see her complete and lovely countenance, but now only a pair of glistening eyes and a beautifully smooth forehead were visible.
"Whatever you say," Pei Xuan responded, too exhausted to adhere to social niceties. After all, she had committed numerous impolite acts over the past few days, so one more wouldn't make much difference.
The quilt beside her opened, releasing a familiar fragrance that tantalized her senses. With a longing inching through her heart, Cui Ti's calf extended hesitantly. Contemplating her decision, she ultimately couldn't resist the yearning and nestled into Pei Xuan's embrace, despite the soreness in her body.
In the tranquil midnight, not even a cat's meow could be heard. The stars shimmered above, while the moon observed in silence. Pei Xuan succinctly recounted the events, explaining the intricacies of the situation, causing Cui Ti to blush once again.
Curiosity piqued, she inquired, "What day is it today?"
"It's already the sixth day,"
Cui Ti's eyes flickered with understanding. No wonder she had felt immobilized, unable to move. Six days had passed, and she had been asleep for six whole days. Xingguang...
She dared not delve too deeply into her thoughts, mustering the courage to question, "How could you believe in such an absurd proposal?"
Pei Xuan held her tightly, allowing her to relax in her arms. Their legs intertwined intimately, and Pei Xuan playfully brushed her toes against Cui Ti's, leaving her breathless.
The exhilaration of having lost and found her beloved hadn't completely subsided.
Softly, Pei Xuan spoke, "At first, I also thought it was absurd when I heard about it. But then, I considered the late-night arrival of the expert, riding on a donkey to save you. If I can be entertained by such an extraordinary encounter, why shouldn't I believe it? Why shouldn't I dare to believe it?"
"Since an immortal can give you spiritual eyes, then why should I not believe in these old hermits.”
Recounting the trials and tribulations they had faced, Cui Ti couldn't help but feel a twinge of fear. Gripping onto Pei Xuan's clothes, she poured out the details of her dream, including the indifference she had experienced.
"In the dream, you became someone else, someone who didn't have me in their heart."
"It was all fake," Pei Xuan reassured, skillfully massaging Cui Ti's aching waist, easing away the residual unease.
"Wife..." Pei Xuan called softly, and Cui Ti timidly met her gaze. Her body felt as if it could melt into a puddle of water. She couldn't help but confess, "I can't bear it anymore, I really can't go through that again."
With a stern expression, Pei Xuan furrowed her brows, pretending to be disappointed. "Is that so?.”
"Husband?" Cui Ti had never seen Pei Xuan have such an expression before.
Unable to tease her any longer, Pei Xuan hugged her tightly and burst into laughter. The sound of her laughter echoed in the air, and Cui Ti, feeling a flush of embarrassment, buried her face in Pei Xuan's neck, hiding herself from view.
In just six days, it felt as if they had gone through a calamity, only to be reborn from its aftermath.
Both physically and mentally exhausted, they found solace in each other's arms and drifted into a peaceful sleep.
Despite being "asleep" for several days and nights, Cui Ti never truly rested, and the same went for Pei Xuan.
The candles burned throughout the night, while they slept until the sun's rays illuminated the room.
Cui Ti woke up a few minutes earlier, her eyes shimmering with a charming gaze as she cast a sidelong glance at her beloved "husband." After experiencing the loss in her dream, the value of their reunion became even more precious. She greedily traced every contour of her sweetheart with her eyes, only to be shocked by the noticeable weight loss that Pei Xuan had undergone.
Pei Xuan possessed a body that never seemed to gain weight, but now it appeared leaner. Under her eyes, it carried a visible tinge of black under them, a clear sign of sleep deprivation upon first glance.
Wanting to avoid disturbing her, Cui Ti fixated on the pair of thin lips before her, a sudden recollection of their previous night flooded her mind.
It is possible…
The realization struck her deeply, sending a tingle through her heart. Cautiously, she leaned in, pressing her forehead against Pei Xuan, and felt the soft rush of their breaths mingling. Her heart raced in an irregular rhythm, and her body tingled with a strange and delightful sensation. A rush of pleasure surged within her.
‘Oh, it's wonderful,’ Cui Ti softly licked her lips and couldn't help but silently utter Pei Xuan's name.
Perhaps her love had echoed too loudly, as when she sought to touch her once more, she was caught off guard.
“A secret kiss?,” Pei Xuan playfully asked.
“No!,” Cui Ti denied.
Pei Xuan chuckled, “Why aren’t you honest?.”
Cui Ti's fluttering eyelashes answered, "Well, I was listening.”
“What are you listening to?.”
“Listen to your restless heartbeat, husband.”
Madam Cui, who had been sleeping for six days, finally woke up.
The Prime Minister's mansion regained its peaceful ambiance. After breakfast, Pei Xuan assisted Cui Ti in making her way to the small courtyard where Immortal Hehuansan resided.
The servants in the outer courtyard informed her, "The master has departed as the donkey tied up at the stable is gone."
….
"Someone broke my spell, I have to go."
"What?.”
Dou Qingyue looked anxious: "Senior, don't you plan to help me?.”
A cold smile escaped from beneath the black-cloaked woman's robe,"This is your chance. Besides, how do you want me to help? My nemesis is approaching, and I don't have time to waste on you. You must handle it yourself."
"Senior!,” Dou Qingyue exclaimed.
A blinding light flashed briefly before disappearing, leaving Dou Qingyue alone.
She stomped her feet in frustration.
How infuriating! That blind woman had once again escaped unscathed!
