Soon after swallowing a piece of egg, a spark of light appeared in Xin Er’s eyes. Without hesitation, she grabbed another slice of tomato and popped it into her mouth.

Jiang Hao watched with joy. His culinary creations truly stood out!

Beside him, Xia Qin was overcome with happiness, tears streaming down her face.

“My Xin Er is finally eating again!”

Chopsticks in hand, Xin Er made quick work of the side dishes, and in no time, more than half had disappeared.

Jiang Hao sighed at the sight, his heart touched by parental love.

“There’s nothing like a parent’s concern.”

“Don’t mention it. It was nothing, really. Besides, Xin Er is so endearing, anyone would be moved to help her!”

“Xin Er’s just regained her appetite, so we should avoid greasy foods. The ingredients for this ‘Golden Lotus in Fire’ dish are all light, appetizing vegetables. I’ll make her some porridge next to gently warm her stomach.”

Jiang Hao quickly addressed him.

“Sorry, sir, we’re closed for the day.”

But the man barely glanced at Jiang Hao; instead, his attention was captured by the glistening, aromatic dishes at Xia Qin’s table.

A flicker of astonishment and delight crossed his eyes, then he puffed up with arrogance, exuding an air of condescension.

“Kid, where’s your chef? Go tell him that Fann Jian, the general manager of Heavenly-Mansion Tavern, requests his presence. I’m here to offer him a golden opportunity!”

The man’s haughtiness made Jiang Hao’s brow furrow in distaste.

“Apologies, sir, but we’re no longer open.

And as for the chef, I may not be much, but you’re looking at him!

Regarding this ‘opportunity’ you speak of, I have no interest in it.”

Fann Jian was taken aback by the response, finally turning his full attention to Jiang Hao.
