Chapter 234 - Old Master Broke Through!

After the Old Master had downed his third bowl, he abruptly stopped.

His complexion was flushed, his vital energy roiling within him, and he struggled to contain the sensation of an imminent breakthrough.

Despite his efforts to restrain it, the faint aura he emitted was unmistakably oppressive.

In a rush, the Old Master stood up. With Fourth Uncle and Jiang Jingyi looking on in confusion, he turned and retreated to his room, making sure to close the door behind him.

Fourth Uncle turned to Jiang Hao, his face etched with concern, and asked, “Hao Hao, is your grandpa okay after eating so much?”

Jiang Hao glanced at the closed door, then back at Fourth Uncle, and reassured him with a smile and a shake of his head. “Grandpa's just absorbed the spiritual energy from the soup. He's struggling to hold back a breakthrough!”

Fourth Uncle was unaware of this and was simply worried because the Old Master seemed off-color.

He offered words of comfort, “Fourth Uncle, there's no need to worry. Grandpa's fine!”

Still frowning with concern, Fourth Uncle replied, “But I noticed something off about your grandpa's expression! And sitting next to him earlier felt incredibly stifling. Did we somehow upset him?”

?Jiang Hao paused his ladling of the soup and faced the skeptical Fourth Uncle, feeling compelled to explain. “Fourth Uncle, you're overthinking it. The more of this soup one drinks, the better it is for the body. But it does take time to digest. Grandpa's probably just resting!”

The medicinal properties he ingested were instantly devoured by the immortal cells within him!

Under the astonished eyes of Fourth Uncle and Jiang Jingyi, Jiang Hao polished off the remaining soup.

“Burp!” A satisfied belch escaped him as he watched Fourth Uncle and Jiang Jingyi ambling in the yard, aiding their digestion.

Glancing at the washroom, he suggested with a chuckle, “Fourth Uncle, you and Jingyi might want to grab a basin and head inside to wash up. Otherwise, you might be in for a long wait!”

With that, Jiang Hao began tidying up the table.

Even though he had consumed the soup, his body was detoxifying just like theirs, but he had undergone the process many times before: unlike Fourth Uncle and the rest.

Once the cleanup was done, Jiang Hao pulled up a stool and sat vigil outside the Old Master's door.

The Old Master was in the midst of a breakthrough, a time when disturbances were forbidden.

Soon after, the Old Master's voice echoed from within.

“Hao Hao, come in!”

At his call, Jiang Hao promptly rose and entered the room.
