C426 – The Baldy Was Unreasonable and Almost Flipped over

Jiang Hao and Soong Wan stepped onto the number two bus and set off for the city center. Jiangbei University, nestled in the suburbs, was not far from Jiangbei City’s heart. The bus ride from the university to the city center typically took around 40 minutes. Upon boarding, they found the bus nearly full, save for a lone empty seat towards the back. Jiang Hao gestured for Soong Wan to take the seat while he stood by her side. Seconds and minutes ticked by.

Before long, the bus reached the expansive Jiangbei Bridge. Since it wasn’t rush hour, the bus wasn’t crowded. Abruptly, a commotion erupted from the front.

“Stop the bus, I need to get off!”

“We can’t stop here; it’s not a designated stop. Please wait for the next one!”

......

Jiang Hao craned his neck towards the source of the disturbance and saw a portly, bald middle-aged man arguing heatedly with the driver. The man had missed his stop before the bridge and only realized it after crossing. Now, he was insisting on getting off the bus.

He was loudly demanding the bus driver to halt.

“What were you doing all this time? The announcements were made several times. Don’t you know where you’re supposed to get off?”

The driver, clearly frustrated, yelled back at the bald man.

His words only fueled the man’s rage.

“I want to get off here, it’s none of your business!”

“Are you going to stop or not?”

The bald man, red-faced with anger, pointed accusingly at the driver. Without waiting for a response, he grabbed the driver’s collar and threw a punch.

Once the bus came to a halt, Soong Wan quickly rose from the back seat and rushed to Jiang Hao’s side.

“Brother Hao, are you okay?”

“Wan’er, are you okay?”

They inquired about each other’s well-being in unison.

Amidst the passengers’ lingering panic, a loud bang echoed, prompting the on-duty traffic police to immediately seal off the area behind the bus.

“Tap! Tap! Tap!”

“Open the door, open the door!”

The sound of knocking was accompanied by an authoritative voice.

The driver complied and opened the door.

Several traffic police officers, clad in uniform, boarded the bus. Leading them was a young woman, flanked by an older man and two younger officers—a total of three traffic police.

The young woman, in her early twenties and standing around 1.7 meters tall, cut an impressive figure in her police uniform, her posture striking and her silhouette curvaceous.

Yet her expression was stern as she fixed a severe gaze on Jiang Hao, who was seated next to the driver.

“What happened here? Step out and explain yourself!”

Mistaking Jiang Hao for the troublemaker, she reached out to apprehend him.
