Chapter 15 - Couldn't Hold Back, Laughed Out Loudly

Chapter 15: Couldn’t Hold Back, Laughed Out LoudlyAuspicious clouds of spiritual energy slowly descended, forming a row on both sides of the hall, with five on the left and four on the right. Gu Liuyun examined the scene closely and noticed that the first position on the right was empty, and he guessed it must be Tianluan’s spot. As the auspicious clouds settled completely, the divine light gradually faded, and the figures on the clouds became clearer.

Tianluan, with a wave of her long sleeves, addressed the person in the first position on the left, saying, “Thanks to Elder Tianlong’s praise, Qianxue steps forward to express her gratitude.”

Elder Tianlong, a middle-aged man with a robust figure and a dignified demeanor, was the one who had spoken earlier. Listening to the praise from the elders, even the reserved Murong Qianxue felt a bit uncomfortable for a moment.

She had no choice but to bow slightly to the elders and say, “Thank you for your kind words, honored elders. Qianxue is humbled.”

Tianluan, knowing her disciple’s personality, waved her hand and said, “Let’s move on, no need to linger here.”

The other elders found themselves momentarily caught off guard by this statement, leading to embarrassed chuckles. Gu Liuyun raised an eyebrow and observed that apart from Elder Tianlong, the other elders seemed somewhat fearful of Tianluan.

“Your temperament remains as unruly as ever, Tianluan,” a calm and elderly voice suddenly remarked.

Just as the elders were feeling awkward, an elderly man with white hair and a benevolent face, dressed in black robes, appeared at the front of the hall. He was none other than the Sect Master, Venerable Tianxuan. The sudden appearance of the Sect Master surprised everyone, and they immediately bowed to pay their respects.

“Greetings, Sect Master!”

“Thank you, Sect Master!”

As they stood up, Tianluan spoke directly to the Sect Master, “Old man, I didn’t ask them to come. How can you say I’m being arrogant?”

Venerable Tianxuan, with a helpless smile, responded, “You…” S~ᴇaʀᴄh the NøᴠᴇlFire.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of nøvels early and in the highest quality.

The conversation between Gu Liuyun and Tianluan left them momentarily puzzled. Tianluan was the second elder of the sect, and it was unusual to address the Sect Master in such a manner, but the Sect Master didn’t seem offended.

Murong Qianxue whispered to Gu Liuyun, “The Sect Master is Tianluan’s father.”

At this moment, Gu Liuyun suddenly realized that the daughter was meeting her father, which explained the intimate conversation between the two. Then, Venerable Tianxuan shifted his gaze to Murong Qianxue.

“This is the genius disciple you just accepted… huh?!” Venerable Tianxuan paused suddenly and expressed surprise.

The sudden pause puzzled everyone, as they turned their attention to Murong Qianxue, but they couldn’t discern any difference. However, Gu Liuyun knew Venerable Tianxuan’s brief pause had been directed at him.

Venerable Tianxuan nodded slightly and continued, “The talent is truly remarkable. In the future, he will become a generation’s pride in our Taoist Palace.”

The puzzled crowd assumed that Venerable Tianxuan had been surprised by Murong Qianxue’s talent and didn’t dwell on it further. But Gu Liuyun recognized that Venerable Tianxuan’s pause had been aimed at him.

“Report to the sect master. True disciple Nangong Chen is seeking an audience outside,” announced the disciple guarding the hall.

“Oh? Let him in.”

Shortly after, Gu Liuyun heard footsteps approaching from behind. He turned to see a man in flame-patterned robes passing by.

The man reached the front of the hall and bowed to everyone, saying, “Disciple Nangong Chen, I pay my respects to the suzerain and all the elders.”

Venerable Tianxuan nodded and inquired, “Why did you come here, Chen? You’ve just taken control of Fiery Sun Peak. Why aren’t you delving into the mysteries of fire there?”

Nangong Chen respectfully replied, “I heard that a talented disciple joined our sect today, reaching the Divine Palace Realm in less than thirty years. I was curious and wanted to meet him.”

Venerable Tianxuan smiled and commented, “Young people are always like this.”

Nangong Chen then turned to Tianluan, bowed, and acknowledged his fellow disciple. He also looked at Murong Qianxue.

“Is this the graceful junior sister, Elder Tianluan’s disciple?” He asked.

Murong Qianxue, with an indifferent expression, chose to ignore his question. Her lack of response momentarily shocked Nangong Chen but then remembered something. He saluted her as a fellow disciple and introduced himself as the chief disciple of the Taoist Palace, suggesting she call him senior brother.

Unfortunately, Murong Qianxue barely glanced at him upon hearing the title “chief disciple” and remained unresponsive.

The hall fell silent, and Nangong Chen felt increasingly awkward, his complexion darkening. Gu Liuyun couldn’t contain his laughter and burst out giggling.
