Chapter 185: I Miss You Too——

Mei Fang provided an explanation for his statement:

“If you ask why, it’s because I sent you a piece of code that has no bugs.”

“Although that code segment is quite long, if he had simply compiled it himself once, or if he had enough programming experience, it would have been a trivial matter for the expert to understand it at a glance. There is essentially no need for modification. To respond with just a sentence should not have taken this long, yet he actually provided a modified version.”

Mei Yue’s face flushed with embarrassment when she heard this, and she felt a surge of anger:

“I don’t quite understand what you’re saying, but to put it simply... you’re saying that his programming skills are completely inadequate?”

“I’m a novice in programming, but in my opinion, that’s how it is—personally, I think that someone who can’t even figure out what 1+1 equals will never be able to learn multiplication. It’s as simple as that. Of course, it’s not to say that there’s no chance of an exception...”

“Do you have any more programming questions? Give me a few more programming questions to see if I can’t find them online... Give me some easy ones, and write down the answers for me too.”

“No problem, I can give them to you tomorrow.”

Seeing his cousin pouting and almost on the verge of tears, Mei Fang consoled Mei Yue:

“Sister Yue Yue, if that guy is really scamming you, don’t be too upset. Consider it a lesson learned...”

“Upset? I’m not upset... We weren’t even officially dating... It’s good that I could see through him early on... Yeah, it’s good, ahaha.”

As she spoke, tears suddenly streamed down her face.

Mei Fang’s cousin had always been extremely emotional and impulsive, and seeing her so sad, he couldn’t help but step forward and gently pat Mei Yue’s back to comfort her.

“It’s alright, Sister Yue Yue, it’s alright... At least your little brother will always support you. I’ll always stand by your side.”

Mei Yue nodded while wiping away her tears, then gave Mei Fang a big hug.

“You’re the best, Xiaofangzi... Men out there are just so unreliable.”

“You can’t generalize like that. You’re such a wonderful person, Sister Yue Yue. One day you’ll definitely meet someone who is upright and genuinely cares for you.”

After Mei Fang’s comforting words, Mei Yue’s emotions became more calm: “Then, I’ll have to rely on you to watch out for me when that time comes...”

“You can count on me!” Mei Fang made an OK gesture.

Mei Fang knew the true face of that scumbag from his past life. He didn’t even need to meet him in person; he could easily handle the situation with his technical expertise.

Mei Yue once again sent programming questions to her prospective boyfriend, and this time her questioning also caused the guy’s dissatisfaction

After a heated argument between the two, the prospective boyfriend arrogantly stated that he had many better options than her, and had never truly valued her. In response, Mei Fang defiantly compiled screenshots and messages that exposed his unfavorable behavior and presented them as evidence to QQ’s customer support.

Due to Mei Fang’s membership level of his QQ account as prestigious V3, he quickly received a notification from his dedicated customer service that the scumbag’s QQ account, which he had been using for many years, had been permanently banned.

Afterwards, Mei Yue decisively blocked all contact information from the scumbag, effectively severing ties with her tragic past self.

The speed at which this matter was resolved was somewhat beyond Mei Fang’s expectations. For him, it was enough that his cousin could be happy in this lifetime.

In addition, since the relationship between the two had been nipped in the bud before it had even taken root by Mei Fang, Mei Yue appeared relatively relaxed on the surface, not showing any signs of having a hard time letting go.

After feeling down for a couple of days, she bounced back and developed a strong interest in Mei Fang’s relationship with his childhood sweethearts. The youngest child of the Mei family, Mei Ya, was naturally tempted by her cousin’s red envelopes and ended up telling her about many things that had happened in the past.

This made Mei Yue eager to return to Baimei County and meet Mei Fang’s childhood sweethearts.

For Mei Fang, the days of waiting to return to his hometown felt like an eternity. Every day, he was either doing homework, preparing for their new project, or being tormented by his little sister’s jumpscares.

His cousin’s presence did alleviate some of the headaches he had been getting from his mischievous little sister, and it provided him with more leisure time to reply to messages from his childhood sweethearts.

The one who messaged Mei Fang the most was Xia Yuan. She practically treated Mei Fang’s private chat window as a diary, recording what she did every day and sending pictures to share with him:

1/10

Sometimes Mei Fang was busy with work or doing homework, so he couldn’t respond to messages immediately. But once he saw the content, he would answer each one, and Xia Yuan would always respond promptly.

Lin Youxi, of course, was not as indecisive as Xia Yuan. She would directly call Mei Fang and have long phone conversations with him.

They talked once a day for half an hour, from 7:00 to 7:30 in the evening.

They discussed work and homework.

If they couldn’t think of suitable conversation topics, Mei Fang would sing for her, or she would sing for him, and then they would chat about recent events.

“So... how is your cousin doing now?”

“Well... she’s already fine, no major issues.”

“That’s good, luckily our codes helped her.”

Lin Youxi laughed and said, “I guess that scumbag won’t present himself as a programming expert next time, but rather as a product manager.”

“Hmm... I must say, calling him a product manager is a bit offensive, haha.”

“By the way, our Ah Fng is also a scumbag...”

“Me? Why are you suddenly talking about me?”

Lin Youxi didn’t respond on the other end of the phone. She waited for a moment before speaking again:

“You’re coming back the day after tomorrow, right?”

“Mhm.”

“Yuan Yuan and I bought a lot of fireworks, we’re waiting for you and Xiaoya to come back and set them off together.”

“Mhm, mhm...”

“Why are you just saying ‘mhm, mhm’? Say something else.”

“Um...” Mei Fang quickly changed the subject with a laugh, “We haven’t seen each other for nearly ten days, does Youxi miss me? Haha!”

“Yeah, we do.”

Lin Youxi’s response on the other end was clear and concise:

“We miss you a lot.”

“What about you, Ah Fang?”

Mei Fang didn’t expect Lin Youxi to suddenly throw a direct question at him.

But after all, she was the renowned Lin Youxi, and this kind of attack was within Mei Fang’s expectations.

“Of course, I feel the same as you. I miss you too——”

Mei Fang paused for a moment.

“‘We’?”

“Now you understand why I said you’re also a scumbag.” Lin You Xi chuckled softly on the other end of the phone.

“I got it now,” Mei Fang responded with a smiling voice.

Through their long and intimate contact, the two gradually formed some unspoken understanding, which made Mei Fang realize that Lin Youxi, this childhood sweetheart of him, had probably started to guess his plan.
