120. Bodily condition

Nozomi felt a tinge of panic as Tomoka went limp. Thankfully she managed to catch her before she hit the floor. Not knowing what to do, Nozomi decided to put her on the ground and check her injuries. However, as she was about to start checking the many bleeding wounds Tomoka’s eyes opened.

“Tomoka, are you okay?” Nozomi felt like hitting herself. Of course Tomoka wasn’t okay but before she could say anything else Tomoka answered.

“Thirty two shallow lacerations. Five deep lacerations. Three broken bones. Twenty six torn ligaments. Left lung has been pierced by a rib...” As Tomoka spoke, blood continued to flow from her many wounds and lips.

“Stop! If you are so wounded what are you doing speaking so much!? We need to get you to the hospital as quickly as possible!” As Nozomi moved to grab Tomoka the latter stopped her.

“No need, current body condition is non-critical. Estimated time for full natural recovery is two-hundred and fifty-two hours. I will now proceed to use iryo ninjutsu.” Following Tomoka’s words a green glow appeared on her palm for a moment before flickering and fading.

Nozomi for her part felt extremely confused. This wasn’t Tomoka, at least she didn’t feel like the Tomoka she had come to love. No, she felt like a puppet that went through the motions to seem alive.

“Who are you?” Nozomi couldn’t help but ask with a bit of trepidation. Had she failed? Had her sun changed into this... thing? Was there a way to have her back? She was scared but she needed to know.

“Erm in that case, we should go to the hospital so you get treated” Nozomi felt relieved and glad Tomoka kept her in mind so much.

“Understood. However, I must advise against such action. The original’s life is in no danger at this juncture. Furthermore, going to the hospital in the current state will garner unwanted attention which could lead to further complications.” Hearing this Nozomi felt a bit annoyed but listened nonetheless.

“What do you mean she is in no danger! You said she had a pierced lung and who knows how many other injuries!” Nozomi at this point was at the limit of her patience. If the phantom didn’t give her a good reason for her words then she would order it to shut up.

“The original’s body is extremely resilient. As stated previously through natural regeneration it would take two-hundred and fifty-two hours. However, once the chakra pathways become stable enough the healing process can be accelerated. Over all and including the needed time for the chakra network’s recovery the body should reach peak condition in eighty six hours.” Hearing this, Nozomi felt puzzled.

“So you are telling me she won’t die?”

“Correct, the original’s life is in no danger as long as no further grave injuries occur.” Hearing this Nozomi felt like an extremely heavy weight lifted off her shoulders.
