205. Bragging
After half an hour of travel inside the quinjet the machine landed. After a minute or two the large cargo bay’s door opened showing what lay beyond. The first everyone present saw was the gray asphalt where many airplanes lay waiting. Beyond that they saw a metal building with glass windows. Finally there was the sea with no land in sight. “Welcome to our next ride.” Tomoka said with a smile hiding the name of the contraption they had just landed on. She wanted to see their faces when they realized what this behemoth of metal could do.
“My recommendation? Go inside before it becomes hard to breathe” Saying that Tomoka moved out of the way so everyone could look around. As expected the interest and curiosity of those present had been stoked by Tomoka.
“This thing goes underwater?” Ah! the question Tomoka had been waiting for had come from the snake-man. With a grin a bit too wide Tomoka kept silent as the roar of machinery working came to life.
From the bottom of the metal ship came a quartet of massive thrusters. That’s right, this is the famed helicarrier of S.H.I.E.L.D recreated by Tomoka for shits and giggles not to mention it is quite useful as well. Unlike the original which used massive fans for thrust this one uses a combination of G.AG.H or Graviton anti-gravity hovering and S.A.P or Spatial anchor pulling. To put it simply the thing uses the G.AG.H to ignore gravity before pulling on space for movement.
“This thing flys!?” Temari was the one to shout in surprise as she saw the thrusters coming to live. A moment later all those present witnessed how the water below got further away.
“Sure it fucking those!” Tomoka shouted while enjoying the astonished expressions of everyone present, especially Orochi’s.
“We will be flying on this veritable fortress for the next three or so hours. My organization’s HQ is in the middle of the ocean a good thousand kilometers away from any land. As I have said, we should get inside before we get to our cruising altitude a good ten kilometers up. It’s really hard breathing up there.”
A while later Tomoka guided the group through the winding halls of the helicarrier en route to the command center of the thing. Once inside everyone could see the many screens showing different sets of data for the operators sitting in front of them.
“Say, how many of them are phantoms?” Hinata couldn’t wait any longer to ask the questions. Ever since they landed she had seen a lot of people working here and there. To answer Hinata’s question, Tomoka just gave a mental order. In an instant like a wave over half of those present turned into wooden puppets before turning back.
“Around eighty six percent are my phantoms. The rest are not as you could see.” As Tomoka explained that a woman wearing a mixture of military gear and formal wear walked in the group's direction.
“Great way of reminding me that half of my crew isn’t real, boss.” The woman said with a wry smile. Her short blond hair and green eyes made her look foreign to all those present. After all, pink hair is far more common than blond in the ninja world despite being rare itself.
“Stop whining Elen, at least you aren’t the only non-phantom on board. By the way, how is the conquest going” Tomoka said with a shit eating grin to the blond.
“Everything is going according to plan. Kiri is already in our pocket and-”
“I wasn’t talking about that conquest, Elen.” Tomoka interrupted the woman with mirth in her voice as she wiggled her eyebrows. The woman for her part did her best to keep her professionalism despite the red stinging her cheeks.
“Boss, please don’t bully me.” The woman said in a voice so low no one would have been able to hear her if they weren’t ninja.
“Fine, fine, but you should confess to him already. Anyway, mission accomplished, let's go home. Please assign someone to look after everyone's needs as well as the two in the infirmary.” That’s right, Tomoka hadn’t forgotten the still sleeping Satsuki and Naruko. They two had been carried away by one of her phantoms after all of them left.
“This machine, how does it work?” Orochi couldn’t contain his curiosity anymore. Though he was far more interested in jutsu and genetics he still kept a healthy amount for technological development.
“It is way too complicated and I don’t feel like speaking for hours so I will give you the short version. The helicarrier uses a hybrid chakra-fusion reactor for energy outputting a good ten gigawatts hour at its maximum output. Normally it produces less than one percent of that to keep the thing running. The only time the reactor works at its fullest is when it enters combat mode. The hard light shields are extremely power hungry not to mention the many laser cannons and turrets.
Said shielding is capable of tanking a couple bijudamas before being overloaded. Good thing the helicarrier uses dual shielding. You would need to overload the second shield before the first comes back online before you could harm the extra thick Tungsten-CTM hull. CTM stands for chakra treated metal. By the way, the shields only need ten seconds after being overloaded before coming back online.
“Looks like that was a bit too much for them. Wonder how they will react once they see the continent buster back at HQ.” A third thud was heard right after as Gaara fainted as well making Tomoka burst with laughter.
“Do you have a continent buster for real?” Hinata’s tone became cold as she scrutinized Tomoka’s expression searching for any deceit in her answer.
“N-no?” Tomoka’s answer as always was full of confidence since she truly had nothing to hide, nothing at all. Please ignore the narrator's sarcastic tone.
“Tomoka!”
“Wait! Before you get angry I haven’t used it! Not even tested it! The test was scheduled for next week!” Tomoka tried her best to save her hide not knowing she was digging herself deeper.
“Tomoka!!” This time Hinata didn’t restrain herself as her hand once more impacted against the back of Tomoka’s. A loud bang resounded in the bridge as Tomoka’s face ended embedded in the hard, now deformed, metal floor.
“You will NOT fire a continent busting weapon unless absolutely necessary.” Hinata’s authoritative tone made it clear she wasn’t playing around. Normally Nozomi would be laughing at the display but even she understood this was a serious matter.
“Fine.” Tomoka answered as she pulled herself out of the ground. To tell the truth the test she was planning on didn’t involve any continent busting anyway. She was just going to fire it into space to make sure the thing was working. Not like it mattered now.
After that Tomoka left with those conscious to give them a tour of the installations onboard. First they came to the recreational area with TV screens, computers, game consoles, books and much more. Next the cafeteria where the girls grabbed a bite as Orochi couldn’t eat since he is a clone. For those curious Tomoka ate enchiladas while Hinata had some deep fried shrimps and fries and Nozomi ate a rather large portion of bolognese pasta. After that Tomoka showed them the onboard laboratory for field research.
“Orochi, the tour isn’t over yet.” Tomoka said while trying to pull Orochimaru out of the laboratory as the man immersed himself in the present research notes. Nothing too important for Tomoka but ground breaking discoveries for the ninja world. If he was like this with a field research laboratory then he would for sure cream his pants when she showed him the labs at HQ.
Once Tomoka managed to get Orochi away from the laboratory she showed them their respective rooms. Though she knew for a fact Nozomi’s and Hinata’s would remain unused as the girls would most probably stay with her anyway. Afterall, three hours wasn’t all that long.
“When?” Once the trio settled inside Tomoka’s rather spacious room Nozomi asked the question that had been bouncing inside her head.
“Well, I started all of this pretty much as soon as I managed to make my first phantom. They have been hard at work creating stuff from my memories under my instruction. As I said before, my technology is so far ahead that doing all of this didn’t take long once my phantoms finished the first step. I could very well take over the world in the next twenty four hours if I so wish.”
“Will you?” Nozomi didn’t know if that would be a good or bad thing. Tomoka is a wonderful person as long as she cares about you. Nozomi had experienced first hand how wonderful Tomoka could be. She had also seen how callous and uncaring she could be.
“I don’t know? I want to, I want to make this word a safe haven for us. The thing is, I don’t need to. My HQ is an impenetrable fortress. Nothing short of a planetary annihilation could destroy it and I have back ups and plans for such an event. Matter of fact is, we are as safe as safe could be.” Tomoka bit her lip for a while.
“I have plans in motion for conquering the world. If you don’t want me to, I will drop them, promiss.” All this time Tomoka had been avoiding looking her girls in the eyes afraid to see disappointment in them. Now she needed to look; she needed to know what their wishes were.
“What will you do with the world?” Finally Hinata asked. World domination was a bit too big a thing for her to properly understand. Yet she was willing to try and understand what Tomoka’s plans would imply for the world as a whole.
“Progress. Humanity has been divided for too long. People kill each other for the dumbest things and I am going to end that. Not by force but through other means. Kiri as of now is already under my control. I am already using said means to control the population into obedience and progress.”
“What means?” Tomoka’s words sounded ominous. Nozomi needed clarification, with only this much it sounded like Tomoka was taking people’s free will away. She wasn’t all that wrong.
“Well...”
