Chapter 29: Yggdrasil XXVII

It took me a month to kill and eat enough dragons to unlock the new racial class. I sat in a cave where I fought and killed two level 60 dragons.

After eating the last piece of dragon meat, I opened my console and checked the available racial class.

[Available Racial Class(s): Greater Dragonoid]

Upon choosing the recently accessible racial class and levelling it up to 15 using the 'Experience Core,' my cumulative level reached 60.

Upon further advancement, I unlocked the subsequent stage of the racial class.

[Available Racial Class(s): Arch Dragonoid]

Upon raising it to level 10, the next level of the racial class was unlocked.

[Available Racial Class(s): True Dragonoid]

Repeating the process a few times, in the end, I had the following racial classes;

Dragonoid(15), Greater Dragonoid(15), Arch Dragonoid(10), True Dragonoid(5), Royal Dragonoid(10), Ancestral Dragonoid(5), Ancient Dragon(5)

Now, my cumulative level was 95.

After levelling the racial classes, I unlocked the last job classes I needed to become a dragon.

[Available Job Class(s): The Ambiguous One]

The reason for the name was that for my job classes, I played as the enemy of the Dragon.

While my racial classes were focused on becoming a Dragon. Thus, the name 'The Ambiguous One.'

I selected it and levelled it up to 5. Now, I was at level 100. To unlock the 'Dragon' racial class, I needed to complete the dungeon 'Dragonheart's Decision.'

I exited the cave and ventured to the heart of Niavellir, where the dungeon was. It took me a few hours to reach my destination.

I landed before a massive rocky opening on the side of a high-rise mountain leading into the dungeon.

I approached the opening. And when I was near it, I received a notification.

[Do you want to challenge the dungeon of 'Dragonheart's Decision?' [Y] or [N]]

If anyone else approached this opening, they wouldn't get this notification. Instead, they will enter a massive empty cave system.

The only way to get the notification was to have 'The Ambiguous One' job class.

I chose the [Y] option and vanished. I reappeared in a massive cave with a high ceiling. A colossal blue Dragon was slumbering in the middle. It was a Western Dragon with four legs, a large tail and horns on its head.

I could kill it to get the 'Dragon Slayer' racial and job class. That would make me the arch-nemesis of Dragons, both in Yggdrasil and the New World.

Or I could subdue it to get the 'Dragon' racial class.

Choosing either option would unlock unique job and racial classes.

The decision was tough, but I chose to subdue it and get the 'Dragon' racial class.

I had 100 In MP, Physical, and Magic Attack. But this Dragon was more than likely above level 100. So, I had to prepare before fighting it.

The condition to get either class was to defeat the Dragon without any accessories.

That meant I couldn't use any items to boost my stats. Fortunately, I was still able to use potions.

The first step was to buff myself with a plethora of spells.

Momonga: "*Greater Draconic Might*, *Greater Draconic Agility*, *Greater Draconic Hardening*, *Greater Anti Draconic Seal*, *Greater Blessing of Griffons*, *Draconic Aspect: Obsidian Scales*, *Draconic Aspect: Emerald Skin*, *Draconic Aspect: Magic Enhancemet*, *Draconic Aspect: Dominance*, *Greater Luck*, *Mantle of Chaos*, *Absorption*, *Maximize Boost Extend Widen Magic: Dragon Slaying Field*"

[MP: 100 -> 0]

The spells I cast would last for more than 10 minutes and would boost my states well over 100. I quickly drank 3 high-level MP recovery potions.

Most of the spells were of the 10th tier.

[MP: 0 -> 115]

Momonga: "Let's start."

The *Dragon Slaying Field* had already engulfed the Dragon. Without waiting, I pointed my hand toward it and used another 10th-tier spell.

Momonga: "*Boost Magic: Hell Flame Pillar.*" Follow current novels on novelb((in).(com)

I used the wings to fly and avoided the tail. I used one of the skills of the Griffin Manifestation. That's right, this skill had sub-skills of its own.

Momonga: "Manifestation of the Griffin Lord: Roaring Call!"

The eagle's head opened its mouth and let out a shrill cry. This skill was able to induce fear and confusion in the enemies.

Leveraging the moment of Dragon's confusion, I used another of its sub-skill. I flew near the Dragon's head and used it.

Momonga: "Manifestation of the Griffin Lord: Implosion!"

The ethereal construct contorted into a golden orb and rushed toward the Dragon's head, exploding on contact. I landed on the ground.

Momonga: 'That should kill him.'

I couldn't use the skill for the next 24 hours. I hoped that the Dragon would die. But the Dragon lived through the explosion.

Dragon: "RAAAWWWR!"

It attacked me with its frontal arms. I barely evaded the strike.

Momonga: 'It seemed to get stronger and faster. Maybe a skill?'

Momonga: "Well, whatever. Let's fight you oversized lizard."

I kept fighting it for the next 15 minutes. All my buff spells had already run out, and my MP had reached zero. I didn't have more MP recovery potions as well. My HP was standing at 50.

Momonga: 'This is the hardest battle I have ever had in the game. I think it's time to use that skill.'

The skill I was about to use was my final trump card of this variant. Its activation required many conditions like I must be facing a Dragon to activate it, I must take 350 points of damage, and my MP should also have emptied.

It was a skill from the 'Draconic Nemesis' job class.

Momonga: "Siegfried Manifestation!"

A barrier formed around me, capable of negating all damage for the next 5 seconds. I started floating in the air, and a golden radiance engulfed me.

After a few seconds, a colossal, resplendent ethereal armour materialized into existence, its golden brilliance casting a radiant glow that illuminated the surroundings. Towering at an astounding height of 30 feet, adorned in ornate, heavy armour, and wielding a great sword.

I was present in the middle of this armour floating mid-air. This was my final trump card.

Siegfried was a hero from Norse mythology who slayed the Fafnir and gained the ability to understand the language of birds after tasting its blood.

This skill massively boosted my Physical stats and dealt increased damage to Dragons. But I could only keep it active for 2 minutes.

Momonga: "Let's end this farce."

I lunged at the Dragon with my great sword and swung it toward its neck.

The sword passed through its neck, causing it to fly to the side and hit a wall.

Without waiting, I jumped and attacked it with an overhead strike. Again, the sword passed through its head. The Dragon swung its frontal arm to strike me.

I didn't bother to evade it. I had trust in my defences. Its attack failed to do much damage.

I spun around and again attacked its neck. The Dragon fell to the ground and didn't get up.

Momonga: "Finally!"

[The Dragon Lord has admitted defeat. The Player may choose its fate.]

I didn't deactivate the skill and opened my console. There, I saw the button to subdue it. I pressed the button, and the Dragon Began to shine in a bright white light.

After a few seconds, a large piece of light separated from its body and flew toward me. It passed through the ethereal armour and entered my body.

At the same time, I received a notification.

[Congradulations on subduing a level 140 Dragon Lord.]

[You have unlocked the rare racial class, the 'Dragon.']

[Do you want to change your racial class to 'Dragon?' [Y] or [N]]

I dismissed the confirmation. I could always change it later. I then looked over to where the Dragon's body should be. But I only found a statue in the shape of a Dragon.

Momonga: 'Hmm, what is this?'
