Chapter 28: Grand Skeleton Warrior (2)

Chapter 28: Grand Skeleton Warrior (2)

I brought a whole bunch of mana potions and downed them at once as I tried increasing my capacity, it seemed to be working but was very inefficient, to show them. The quantifiers called stats had only increased by 1.

But improvement was improvement, I had already hit my goal.

"Popopo..."

The slime sitting next to me whinged.

"What do you want Neo Mack?"

"Pipooo...."

"Are you worried about the hero? Are you an idiot?"

That guy wasn't a hero for no reason, he was plenty powerful and also plenty crazy. Just going out for a stroll in the middle of a zombie wasteland was nothing worth thinking twice about, it was no different from strolls that old people took in gardens, the only risk was how prone they were to heart attacks.

Except, in this case, heart attacks were instead getting mauled by zombies.

Same difference.

I stretched my hands above my head and suppressed a yawn when the ground started to tremble.

The couch rocked and the table shook, my expensive mana potions tripped over to the side.

"What the heck?"

I dived ahead to grab them, two fell neatly in both my arms but the third fell on the ground and splashed away. The glass vial and the contents turned into dust, announcing their departure from the world.

"Pipo!" n-.o)-v--e--L-(b-(I(.n

I got back on my feet, the ground still trembling. It didn't seem like an earthquake but more of a continuous crash, much like how we had dropped many buildings flat.

This fucker.

I had used all of my cash points to buy that shit. And it had fallen.

My money was wasted, and so was my potion.

"Hey slime, put this thing back."

I tossed the potion behind me and Neo Mack 3 rushed to grab it. As the merchant, it could keep it all stored up in its inventory which was much more expansive than what we had received.

That fucking hero.

If this was being done by that guy, he deserved to be hit. Couldn't he train in peace without causing a scene?

"Map."

I got into the elevator as the slime followed. A blue window opened in front of my eyes and revealed the structure of the block we were in. Central Darma was pretty expansive, and the map could only show things up to a certain radius.

It seemed the Hero had not gone too far from us, but his red marker on the map was nearing the edges.

Alright.

"Let's go and teach that fucker a lesson."

"Pipo...?"

The elevator stopped on the ground level, turning back into a muddled and bloody storage room.

I kicked the door down and stepped outside of the room, stretching my hands.

The scent of death and rotting flesh assaulted me at once, but it seemed to be very distant. The place around was too clean to have the smell anyway, other than the stains that rotting flesh left.

Wincing, I stepped out of the storage room. All through the walls around me were bone-shaped holes, as if they had been dragged elsewhere.

It seemed the hero had indeed done something that deserved a hit.

Leaving the passageway behind, I made my way toward the door and walked out with a casual stride, none of the rows of zombies and hounds from before remained.

The slime kept hopping behind me as we looked at the clear red skies filled with the black soot of flames. They seemed to have dissipated.

As my gaze shifted from the skies to the jungle of concrete in front of me, a giant being filled my sight.

There it stood, holding a great sword of pure bones, the enormous demon.

One that I had seen in the other world in the hands of the necromancer from Relafan's party and had almost died against.

The Grand Skeleton Warrior.

Even if Relafan had summoned it, there was no way he was winning. Even I didn't think I could win against it right now.

"Well fuck, let's go back."

"Pipo?"

Or wait...

Maybe I could use it...
