Chapter 301 Surprise After Surprise

"Is everyone okay?", Ying Chao asked after erecting an essence energy barrier at the nick of the time.

"Senior, we are fine", Zhan Chen replied. Ying Chao nodded his head and looked at the surrounding with a frown on his face. "Just what is going on?", he murmured to himself and spread his soul consciousness wide.

"It is a flying restriction formation", Zhan Chen spoke. A look of understanding appeared on the face of Ying Chao after he examined the entire area.

"You are right. It is a large restriction formation.

Moreover, looking at the spirit energy fluctuation, I can tell that it is set up recently ", Ying Chao commented.

"Everyone, be alert. Who ever has set up this formation is very crafty", he shouted at the group of Zhan Chen and Jia Lingyi.

"Senior, what should we do now?", Jia Lingyi enquired after standing still for a while. There was an uncertain look on her face as she couldn't find anyone in the surrounding area.

"Girly, be patient. We do not know whether there are any further danger waiting outside the formation", Ying Chao spoke.

"Zhan Chen, who do you think causing the trouble?", he shifted his eyes towards Zhan Chen after speaking with Jia Lingyi.

"I don't know but we should stay cautious. Moreover, it will be to our advantage of we can send a message to the Spirit palace", Zhan Chen replied.

"Well then. Let's see if the Spirit palace is willing to help", Ying Chao replied. He hesitated for a moment before taking out a blue coloured tailsman from his spatial ring.

"A sky grade tailsman!", Zhan Chen 's eyes lit up for a moment. The blue coloured tailsman started to glow as Ying Chao infused his essence energy inside it. It glowed for several moments before losing its luster.

"Ying Chao, you are far more paranoid than we have imagined", a voice suddenly came out from nowhere. A tensed expression appeared on Zhan Chen's face as he could perceive few powerful auras around them.

"Show yourselves", Ying Chao tried to appear as much calm as possible. But secretly he was circulating his essence energy all over his body.

A group of cultivators appeared on a distant hill after the voice was heard. Ying Chao 's expression changed after he saw the appearance of the cultivators.

"Hou Zihen! Ning Tao! Why are you two together? Moreover who are the seniors behind you?", Ying Chao asked as a bad premonition rose in his heart.

"Ying Chao! Don't act like a stupid. We all know how capable you are. As for our purpose, that is the brat behind you", a cultivator in the forefront of the group of experts spoke.

"Hou Zihen, you have come for Zhan Chen?", Ying Chao finally understood what the group of experts want. But his understanding came too late as the enemy experts dispersed to various directions.

"Ying Chao! Do not resist. Our target is only the brat from Zhan clan. But unfortunately, you are the once escorting him to the Xuantian sect", Hou Zihen replied.

"You plan to silent me?", Ying Chao looked at Hou Zihen with disbelief on his face. He didn't receive any answer but the cold look on his opponents 's face, made him realise how worse the condition of his group was.

Compared to the look of disbelief on Ying Chao 's face, Zhan Chen was rather calm at this moment. He felt tensed for a while, but later he managed to calm down himself. His gaze was currently focused on two old men who had came along with the group of assailants.

"Attack", Hou Zihen spoke and three attacks came towards Ying Chao simultaneously. Ying Chao erected an energy shield in response but it could only sustain untill the third attack.

Hou Zihen who was talking to him untill now, sprang into action and launched a palm strike towards Ying Chao.

Ying Chao hurriedly defended himself as a line of blood trickled out from the corner of his lips. A decisive look appeared on his face as he took out a pill from his spatial ring.

Few attacks rained on him once again but Ying Chao managed to defend himself successfully. He gave a mad dash towards an opponent and launched a first strike towards him.

A gigantic first glowing with faint yellow colour went towards his opponent. His opponent barely defended the attack but his body crashed on the ground in response to Ying Chao 's attack.

Hou Zihen who was looking at everything with a cold looking face gave a signal to another of his accomplice. He pretended to move towards Ying Chao but his body appeared near Zhan Chen strangely.

He let out a devious smile before thrusting his sword towards Zhan Chen. Contrary to his expectation, his attack didn't manage to kill Zhan Chen.

Zhan Chen dodged the sudden attack calmly with the help of Cloud chasing steps. There was a calm look on his face as he observed his attacker.

"A late Tribulation realm expert", he thought to himself and took out his sword. There was an incredulous look on the face of his attacker as he saw a young man like Zhan Chen taking out a sword to fight with him.

"Brat, you are overrestimating yourself", his attacker shouted and dashed towards Zhan Chen. He launched a flurry of attack which could overwhelm a Martial ascension realm expert immediately.

To the surprise of the attacker and Jia Lingyi who was watching from the side, Zhan Chen managed to dodge every single attack launched towards him. Moreover, he had craftily distanced himself from his women so as not to drag them into his fight.

Hou Zihen finally lost his composure after seeing Zhan Chen dodging the attack of a Tribulation realm expert. A glint appeared on his face, as he looked towards an old expert in the distance.

"There is no need to guard anymore. Senior Huzi, please take action", he spoke to the old man standing in a distance.

The old man nodded his head and took a step forward. To the surprise of the onlookers, he appeared near Zhan Chen in the next instance.

"An emperor realm expert!", Jia Lingyi 's expression changed after she saw the old man in action. The old man calmly looked at Zhan Chen and released his aura. A colossal pressure came crashing towards Zhan Chen which rendered him incapable to move.

Zhan Chen was completely fearless as he matched his gaze with the old man. The d man was just going to take action when suddenly a splitting sound came from the air.

The expression of the old emperor changed for a moment but before he could do anything, he found an arrow lodged on his back. Another splitting sound was heard and his other companion who was also an emperor, shot with an arrow.

Both of their expressions changed as they found both of their souls getting corroded in a very fast pace. Both of them hurriedly withdrew from the battle and tried to supress the injuries they got from the arrows.
