His behaviour was very unpleasant but Zhan Chen was thankful to him because he delivered the gift from Xie Lanying to him.

'Hopefully, this matter didn't bring any trouble to Lanying. I have never thought that she would send me such a precious gift', Zhan Chen thought to himself after the imperial envoy left.

He quickly changed the direction where he was going and found a secluded buliding which was far away from the city lord's mansion.

"My beautiful Liying. How can you be so naive? You may only want to speak few words but I want to spend some alone time with you before leaving", Zhan Chen spoke. His eyes were meaningful which made Shui Liying blush.

"Husband, how can you be so mischievous in such a time? I am worried about your safety yet you are thinking about....", she couldn't even complete her sentence before her cheeks got reddened.

"Ah! How pretty. Liying, how can you be so beautiful!", Zhan Chen exclaimed. He felt a fire burning inside him after seeing Shui Liying so flustered and shy.
