Chapter 9 - Inviting the Tiger out of its Den

"Remember, not a word. Walk behind me, stay close and look down. Don't let anyone see your face." Ronglou murmured silently to Huangyu. Li Huangyu nodded, she took a deep breath and stayed close to her Miss.

Ronglou then walk slowly but surely to her destination. Not long after, they reach the busiest street at this late at night. It was the street leading to Hua Pavilion or commonly called the place where courtesans or prostitutes lives.

The closer they got, the noisier it was. They could already smell the alcohol in the air , could hear the music, the men's laughter and the women giggling. Li Huangyu's mind was going haywire. She could never see what her Miss was trying to do in this kind of place. Her Miss was the most elegant and perfect woman in this Kingdom. One could never imagine her Miss to be seen in this kind of dirty place.

Ronglou in the other hand, didn't had this kind of thought. Instead, she walked calmly. Like she knew exactly where she was heading and what she wanted to accomplish. She only stopped walking when she reached the gates of Hua Pavilion.

A Young Courtesan came to greet the two. "May I know what business does the two Young Miss came for in Hua Pavilion?" She was able to tell that the two veiled woman was no ordinary people. They wore expensive robes, veils and hats to cover their identities well.

"My friend here has a business with Miss Hua XingXi. Please let her know that we would like to see her." Ronglou looked at the courtesan and smiled behind her veil.

"There is no such person here in Hua Pavilion. You must've gotten the wrong place." She replied courteously.

"Hmm.. I could have. In any case, please tell your Matron. She might be able to know that person. It won't hurt if you ask." Ronglou gracefully replied.

"Our Matron is busy right now, Please leave. Come back in the morning." The courtesan smirked. She hated being ordered around. Especially with noble women. They always think highly of themselves.

"Well. I guess that's that Miss." Ronglou looked at Huangyu. Letting Li Huangyu know that she wouldn't be able to see the person that she was wanting to see.

"I guess that Hua Xingxi doesn't want to see Hua Feixhu." Ronglou sighed, shrugged her shoulders and left. Huangyu followed silently, confused to what just happened. Isn't Miss here to meet that person? Why did she backed down instantly? Just because that lowly and dirty courtesan said so? Tsk..

As soon as the two left, the courtesan acted like nothing happened. Just then, the Matron came and saw the smirked on the courtesan's face.

"Did something good happened?" The Matron asked the smiling courtesan.

"Oh nothing mother [1]. I just sent away two pesky noble women. There were looking for some Miss Hua Xingxi and since we didn't have anybody whose named like it. I sent them away. Who knew if they were here to cause trouble. It's not our fault if their husbands or lovers wants to taste our bodies. haha.." The courtesan giggled. It was a common sight to see other women charging at their place, to demand seeing the one they got cheated on. She only looked at the Matron briefly.

The Matron didn't hear the rest, her mind stopped working as soon as she heard the name.

"Who did you say they were looking for?". She asked.

"Some Miss Hua Xingxi or something. They even said that apparently Hua Xingxi didn't want to see Hua Feixhu." The courtesan looked at the Matron. Seeing her mother's expression, she felt a cold chill on her spine.

"Where did they go?". The Matron held firmly on to the courtesan's shoulders. "Did they left?"

"Uhh.. Yes. They went that way." The courtesan pointed out. She was feeling that she just done something bad.

"Go ! Hurry and bring them back here! I have to let the Young Miss know about this! Hurry! or both of our heads will get cut off! " The Matron pushed the courtesan away, as she dashed towards the Young Miss' room.

"YOUNG MISS?!" The courtesan's eyes went wide. She then ran as fast as she could, hoping that she will be able to catch up with those two. Why didn't they just said that they were looking for the Young Miss? She definitely had to bring them back or else. Like what the Matron said, her head would definitely get cut off!
