“Ah~ I just wanted to ask you something. But I think it would be okay to have only two people here. Let’s see if these defensive skills of yours live up to my expectations,”

[Railgun] has been activated.

It was like the sun suddenly appeared in front of Ervan. Ervan was very proud of his shield. It was forged from one of the strongest metals in the Temple and he has used it for years now. It was capable of surviving the intense lava of the mountain giants and even the frosty howls of the Polar wolves. But this heat was something of a whole different level!

Kaboom!!

A straight shot of pure energy basted across the rooftop and over the city! Han’s smile widened as he saw Ervan trying to hold himself on top of the roof. He was leaning forward intensely and his shield was being held in front of him to protect his body. Han cut off the blast after a while and then he whistled.

Damn... Talk about a kebab.

Ervan was black and burnt all over and once Han cut off the blast, he fell to the ground with a heavy thud. Han saw how Tia quickly took three steps away from them and he knew she was about to run. He turned his eyes to her and his bloodlust flared.

“Nnkkkk!!!!”

Tia’s heart almost stopped! She was sure that she wouldn’t have managed to move her legs even if she dared to try! She was stuck in a place like a statue!

Even Worm, who had been trying to escape, was suddenly stopped once he felt the BloodLust! This wasn’t bloodlust anymore! This was a physical thing! This amount was enough to drown an entire world in hatred!

Han took a few steps forward and then he stopped once he got to Ervan’s body. He put his hand to Ervan’s pulse and smiled. This man was still alive? Wow. That defense was no joke! Would he have survived if it was the laser beam Han used instead?

Well, it didn’t matter. Han never had any intention of just killing Ervan like that. Han had a plan, and he needed this man alive for the plan to work. He turned to the other two and then he spoke to Tia.

“I’m only going to ask you this once. Your escape method, what was it supposed to be? Ah, no. I guess you guys didn’t think of it as an escape method, you thought it would be more like an exit plan after you finished with me. So let’s call it that instead. How did you plan to leave here after you were done with all this?”

Tia felt the BloodLust increase and she grunted while falling to one knee. Should she say anything!? She couldn’t tell him about their escape method, that would be the end for them! The celestials would kill them all if they told him! But would they not die here if they didn’t say anything? Tia didn’t want to die!

Han hummed as he saw the conflict in Tia’s face and realized that she might be harder to break. He really didn’t have time to start threatening people again, so he just turned his attention to someone that would be easier to break.

“Oh. I want you to stab him. And make sure you get it in there real deep. I don’t want him twitching back to life or anything like that. Make sure you kill him.”

Tia bristled in anger. This is madness! This man is mad!

“I would never do something like that!! I am not a mad person like you!”

Han tilted his head to one side. Did he calculate wrongly? He thought for sore that Worm was the person they hated the most in this group. Oh well...

“If you won’t do it, then, you can stab her instead. I don’t really care who kills who. Just make sure you get it really deep in there. Do it like you want to push your hand right through her!”

Tia was now sure that this man was mad! He is talking like killing someone was a daily activity! Like running or dancing! Why would he even think that any of them would do something like that!?

“We would never do something like that you mad man – Urk!!!”

Tia’s eyes widened as a deep pain flared through her stomach. She looked down and saw a knife sticking out from there! This... This man...? He actually stabbed her!?

“W-Worm...?”

Tia could only say that much before she fell forward and a deep pool of green blood gathered under her. Worm stepped back while breathing heavily, the bloody knife in his hand was shaking! He did it! He had to do it! He wouldn’t let anyone kill him! He had to live! If killing her was necessary for living then it was just something he had to do!

“I won’t die here! I know you just wanted to kill me too! I won’t let you kill me!”

Clap! Clap! Clap!

Han clapped slowly while looking at the dead body of the woman. Wow. This guy really got that knife in deeeep. So this woman’s blood is green? Kinda icky, but I guess it’ll be different since she isn’t human. I really should’ve expected it.

“I-I did it. I did what you wanted. I can leave now, right? I don’t have to die, right?”

Han looked at the shaking Worm in surprise. Wait, who said anything about leaving? You aren’t done yet.

Han moved to the side and Worm got a full view of Ervan. Han stretched his hand over Ervan’s body.

“You have one more to go, you know. Can’t just leave him like this. It’d be too cruel to have him suffer and die from hunger.”

Worms hand shook and he took a step back. Why...? Why did he have to do this!? This was supposed to be a simple mission! A simple mission to capture one person! How did that mission turn into this!?
