Han noticed the skill she was using but he ignored it. It wasn’t anything harmful and the scanner can’t see through this [Ring of Invisibility] so she can search all she wants. Once that was done, Risque explained exactly what she invited them all to the room.
“I think it is about time for us to hunt the Kraken,”
Gasps echoed through the room as the entire Wyrven guild was shocked! They looked at Risque like she grew another head! What kind of madness is she talking about! They haven’t hunted that monster all this time because it is a black star level!
“Now that this man is here, it is going to be possible for us to do it! He is strong enough to rival the tenth king! Do you even know when we will have this kind of opportunity again!?”
Han didn’t understand what the hell they were talking about and so he told Risque to explain properly. He didn’t like vague things like what she was saying. Risque nodded and began to explain.Fôll0w current novÊls on n/o/(v)/3l/b((in).(co/m)
The Kraken was a monster that plagued the ocean on this floor. The Kraken blocked the pathway through the ocean and prevented the people here from using the second portal on the western side of the floor. The Kraken appeared for the first time about fifty years ago and Risque suspected that it only appeared because it has finally grown into its full age. Ever since that monster appeared, the adventurers have always had to use only one portal. So if they want to go to a higher floor, they have to go back to the portal they came from and then enter it again while setting it for a higher floor instead of them just using the other portal like usual.
Han understood immediately. No wonder there were so many people at the portal when he was coming here. They weren’t all coming into this floor, some of them were going to higher floors because they can’t use the second portal blocked by the Kraken. But a Kraken? Really? This temple is just spawning more and more insane creatures!
“I understand, but why are you just dealing with this now? I’m not the only black star that has come to this floor am I?”
Risque sighed and explained.
“Black stars and high ranking white stars are very rare. We haven’t had a black star come to this floor in almost three hundred years. And even if we did, then we won’t have the money needed to pay them for a mission like this, I’m only banking on the chance that you require something from the guild too. If you can help me with this task then I’ll pay you for an A-rank mission and give you badges for every single one of your party members. You won’t even need to come back here ever again. We just need you to kill that Kraken. None of the people here are brave enough to handle a monster like that without a high ranking fourth or fifth tier in their team,”
Han knew that this wasn’t what he was supposed to be doing. People aren’t meant to be killing such strong creatures for just a guild badge. I could just leave it and get the badge from an easier quest or I could even go back to a lower floor and get my badge from the guild branch over there. Then all of a sudden Rin’s frowning face crossed Han’s mind and he groaned. Okay, fine. Maybe his girls wouldn’t like hearing that he left people in danger. It’s not even going to take an hour anyways. Risque was very honest with the way she asked Han to help and Han decided he would help her because of that honesty. Besides, it would be fun to throw Gregory towards the monster and see if he can kill it!
Gregory turned toward Han with a suspicious look when Han suddenly started to chuckle. I don’t like it when you chuckle. Something dangerous always happens to me when you chuckle like that!!
“Drop the knife and come over here, both of you.”
Rau didn’t move for a moment, but his fear of Han easily made him forget about trying to fight. He slowly dropped the knife and moved up while supporting his sister. They stepped over the dead body and moved closer to Han. Han could see that they were very scared. They must think I’ll be disgusted by what I saw. I’m not even interested in your love life. I’ll be a hypocrite if I judged you after everything I’ve done. I’m more interested in exactly why you killed that man.
“Tell me what happened here. If you lie, I’ll know. And remember what I told you before about killing you? It wasn’t a joke. Tell me the truth or you’ll join this man on the ground,”
Rau gulped as his fear made him lose his voice but his sister wouldn’t stop glaring as she shouted!
“Don’t be angry at Rau! He saved me! That man has been looking at me since we were in the guild house and when we were down here he tried to rape me! Rau stopped him and helped me!”
“Don’t shout unless you want everyone to come down here and find out about this,”
Grey blushed in embarrassment as Han said this to her and she ducked her head. Han sighed. It seems he was right. But what the hell is up with these top floors. So even children have nothing against killing? Rau doesn’t even look a little bit put off by this so that means he has killed people before. Well, I guess if they did it to protect each other then it doesn’t matter to me. Han turned around and started walking away and Rau’s eyes widened in shock. Was that it?
“Wait. Y-You saw us, didn’t you? Won’t you ask any questions?”
Han turned around and saw how the two children were looking at him in surprise. I guess things like incest are also a big deal in their world.
“Do you want me to ask anything? Or do you just want me to keep quiet about it?”
Rau squeezed his fist.
“I-I really love her! We’re going to the sixty-third floor to escape our family so we can be together! I heard it’s a peaceful floor so I want to take my sister there! Don’t just think that we’re doing this for nothing,”
What a stupid notion. You want to escape? Don’t you know how similar the two of you look? No matter where you go you’ll always be outcasts because of your relationship. But, I suppose if you have that kind of determination, it doesn’t really matter what other people think.
“Just make sure you get rid of that body,”
Han walked away and didn’t say anything more to them. He didn’t have to get involved in their bullshit.
