Dorea already had a good reason and she gave it back to Han immediately after he finished asking.
“Ratte isn’t just a coward. As of right now, Ratte is the only King that has a direct line to the Celestials and he is the only one that I can clearly say is capable of talking to a Celestial. Ratte is acting as a spy for them and the man that is directly in charge of me is the one acting as Ratte’s handler. Do you understand Han? This much should be a good reason for him to live. That man is the only one capable of helping you with the Celestials.”
Han clicked his tongue in distaste. He hated to say it but he could see the sense in what Dorea was saying. Ratte was a coward first and foremost, but as a spy for the Celestials, he can become a very valuable asset in the future.
As a Double Agent.
Someone that can feed the Celestials lies about what they are doing and keep them off his tail for as long as possible. Ratte is the only King that the Celestials trust and therefore he is the only one that can do this. Han felt irritated once he thought about it, but he actually needs that man! Ugh. That tastes like bile in my throat!
Dorea smiled as she saw how Han understood immediately. He was actually taking what she said into consideration. Dorea felt this immense joy that she was able to help him even from here. She hasn’t been able to repay him for what he has done for her so far but she hopes that this is a start.
“Okay, that is good, but I still need to find Ratte first. That rat is very good at running and I don’t think my shadow hunters can detect him with the amount of power they have. Are there any leads that you can give me about where he went to? Any small thing would be enough,”
“I-I’m sorry! We can’t do anything now! Just leave, I think my handler is on her way! I’ll see you another time okay! I-I’ll miss you and I’m sorry!”
Han felt that pull on his naval again and then he disappeared! Once Han left, it didn’t even take up to ten seconds before another woman appeared. She was the handler of Dorea and she went away for that short while to check out a report that a particular world she was watching over was about to experience Ragnarok. The end of the world. It was one of the interesting things about watching over the many worlds they put under her care. It is always fun to watch mortals running around in fear as their world blows up! But wait. Why are you panting so much Dorea?
“Penelope. I’m glad you came back safe. I hope your journey was eventful,”
Penelope hummed as Dorea greeted her. She could see a bit of sweat on Droreas face and she could also smell something pungent in the air. Don’t tell me Dorea had one of those ‘Happy hours’ that mortals usually have! Those times when they touch themselves like animals? Ugh! Don’t do that sort of thing when I’m the one watching over you! Or at least don’t do it in a space where I can see you! It disgusts me!
Penelope looked away from Dorea with a disgusted face as she answered her.
“Yes, my trip was eventful. And don’t be silly, how can anything ever harm me in that useless mortal world. I only watched their demise and left before any of them could sully me with their disgusting filthy bodies. But I suppose nothing was remaining of them after their sun imploded in that supernova. It was quite glorious.”
Dorea couldn’t help the anger that rose inside of her as she heard how Penelope was describing people that died. People that Penelope was supposedly looking over. Some special worlds had Celestials that look over them because of some special circumstance. These worlds would usually be able to ask for aid from a Celestial or even pray to a Celestial for help.
But this is always how it is with the Celestials. Even that scientist from before was the same. None of them see mortals as anything but entertainment. They only see mortals as cattle that exist for their amusement. And the worst thing about it was that they were strong enough to uphold that image of themselves. Only the strong make the rules and it was obvious that the Celestials were the strongest there ever were.
But not for long. Han is coming for all of you. Very soon he will end you all! But until then, I’ll just play my part and wait.
Dorea bowed as she thanked Penelope for her hard work. Penelope only spared her a glance before she ignored her as she began to walk away. A Celestial truly shouldn’t have to do a job as lowly as watching over a human, but it is just her bad luck that she has to watch over this fake Celestial. Dorea was never considered a true Celestial by the others so they all called her a fake. Penelope hated it when she was told to watch over Dorea, but she decided not to complain too much since Yggrain was the one that asked. He is quite scary after all. Well, whatever. Dorea is amusing enough to watch anyway, so I guess I’ll just allow her to keep entertaining me for now!NewW novels updates at novelhall.com
