At the Imperial College library.
Shen Yi calmly looked at the figure of Byron advancing in the distance.
Suddenly a thought flashed through his mind, the scene unfolding before him as if it were a scene from a movie, reminiscent of a clandestine meeting between the two black evil organizations.
Reflecting on this, it struck him that perhaps in the archives of the Anti-Magic Bureau, their duo might be perceived as “mysterious evil force”.
As he was in his thoughts, his pupils shook suddenly and froze on the spot. He felt a cold current rising in his body. But he soon came back to his sense and realized it was a new change brought by ‘Fourth call’.
Lost in contemplation, his eyes darted and then settled fixatedly in a moment of palpable intensity. A cold current crept up his spine, imbuing his veins with an icy sensation, momentarily displacing him from the present. However, as swiftly as the sensation enveloped him, he snapped back to reality, acknowledging the subtle but distinct shift was brought from the ‘Fourth call’.
Yet, there was an undeniable difference this time – the power felt more potent, more overwhelming. With each passing moment, the power seemed to grow more insistent, surging through his blood vessels and extending to envelop his entire being.
The urge to unleash this pent-up power was tantalizing, yet he resisted, fearing the unknown consequences that might accompany such an action. With each suppressed surge of energy, he could feel the tension within him grow, a silent battle raging beneath the calm facade he presented to the external world.
“Divine Messenger, we meet again, the stuff is here.”
Byron stopped at about five meters away, and put down the two black boxes in his hands.
When facing, Extraterrestrial god he was submissive and pious, but for the Divine Messenger he was bit respectful but nothing more than that, he don’t have to curry favor with him.
Shen Yi gently nodded his head, his gaze shifting between the two distinct items held within the boxes: one of these was a Blazing Heart, and the other was an apple. However, that was the state before he himself gave them to Byron, now he wondered what state they were in.
Shen Yi under the golden mask stared straight at Byron and said. “Every time you get new forbidden knowledge, record it in that book.”
Byron after a moment of silence, asked with his eyebrows raised slightly. “Why?”
He long wanted to ask that, but before dared not because of his daughter. Now after performing many sacrifices he felt that he was qualified to express doubt and ask questions in front of the messenger of God.
Shen Yi didn’t bother to use his brain and gave a standard answer that he often used.
“You don’t need to know, you don’t need to understand, you don’t need to think, this is His will, and all you need to do is follow His will.”
‘If you have a question, go ask my “boss”, don’t talk to me here, I know, you must not dare to ask my “boss”.’
...... Ah, although the “boss” is actually me.
Unfortunately, these words could not be said, Shen Yi muttered in his heart.
Byron was silent for a long time, finally he nod his head gently. “I know.” With that, he turned around to leave, his body still straight, without the slightest pause.
Shen Yi lifted the threaded cane and turned it into a pitch-black bracelet, slipping it onto his right wrist.
Then, he stepped forward and stacked the two black boxes on top of each other, then holding them with one hand before pulling out the Book of Ten Travelers from his pocket with his other hand.
“Travel.”
The next moment, the scenery around changed and he stood in the cafe carrying two black boxes.
“Unfortunately, I cannot travel with living things.”
“Meeooow.”
Coke’s horrifying ‘meow’ made him vigilant, he placed the two boxes on the counter, then turned to the souce of sound and saw Coke hiding vigilantly in the corner, as if something had scared him.
“What’s wrong?”
Following Coke, he saw that in the pitch-dark cafe.
The bloodless, shriveled arm silently crawled out of the room, five fingers as “feet”, allowing it to flexibly keep moving, but the course of action was not just bizarre; it was a macabre dance of horror unfolding before him
It suddenly stood still.
He really turned into a mist.
This was a very marvelous special state, and Shen Yi in his mist form feel everything, whether it was Coke or that arm, and the Blazing Heart.
He had a clear sense of their state, and he could perceive everything through perception.
Shen Yi tried to “stretch” himself and make his body longer. The white mist soon extended outside the cafe, and the perception also followed, and he could “feel” the existence of these things just like before.
“But the total area remains the same. It’s a very interesting change... I wonder how far the ability to mist will evolve with a few more summons?”
“I wonder if the other powers will have a qualitative change?”
Shen Yi was a little excited, and then tried to change back to his original shape.
It worked.
Nails, skin, flesh, bones... the human body gathered together again and stood in the dark cafe.
Fully changing into human form, he breathed a sigh of relief. “Still able to change back.”
Just now he had a strange feeling that he might never be able to turn back into a human again.
Fortunately, it was just an illusion.
But for some reason, Shen Yi had a strong premonition that with each “summoning”, he might be getting further and further away from the category of “human”.
He calmly sat down on a side chair and took out the Book of Ten Travelers.
There weren’t many free pages left, and in the past few days he had recorded a few new locations.
For example, Tina’s home.
It’s all for the convenience of timely rescue... As the number of potential enemies increases, Shen Yi felt that having subordinate forces was really very good, and the members of the Chaos Remnant Order were well worth utilizing.
They would take shifts to guard the neighborhood of Tina’s family.
Shen Yi turned to the pages and stopped at Tina’s house. It was an ordinary two bedroom apartment.
He just wanted to make sure Tina was safe.
Sliding between his fingers, the picture moved to Tina in pajamas, lying comfortably on the pink bed, sleeping without any signs of nightmares.
“It seems the Pseudo-Gods haven’t come back to mess with her dreams.”
“Watching a lady sleep is ungentlemanly behavior.”
Shen Yi laughed at himself, shook his head, and closed the Book of Ten Travelers.
Now that he had discovered the secret of “Gift Transformation” his mindset was beginning to change. Instead of being summoned passively again and again, he should try to actively make them summon, so that the summoning frequency would become higher.
The “forces” that he could influence would rapidly become stronger.
“In this way, I will really be the mastermind behind the scenes... Repeated summoning will also allow me to obtain more sacrifices, and my authority will become stronger.”
It’s a good thing to kill two birds with one stone, anyway it’s a win-win situation.
Just as Shen Yi was thinking, the shriveled arm that had been motionless on the ground moved again. It began to crawl cautiously, trying to get closer to the glass door of the cafe.
When it slowly came to the glass door, with a “ow”, a black and white figure suddenly pounced over and bit it hard!
The shriveled arms struggled desperately under the Coke’s mouth, but could not escape from it.
Coke held the wriggling, shriveled arm in his mouth as if to seek credit, and walked towards Shen Yi in a cat-like gait.
