At 5:00 a.m. On the west coast of the Paldea region, Officer Jenny stood with a serious expression, gripping her walkie-talkie tightly. She led the officers from her police department in evacuating wild Pokémon from the area in an orderly fashion.
The Paldea Alliance's reinforcements had yet to arrive, so they could only do what they could to prepare for the inevitable landfall of the giant creature heading their way.
Half an hour earlier, a helicopter had been sent out to investigate the creature up close, but it had not yet returned.
"Evacuate the nearby wild Pokémon as quickly as possible, and make all necessary preparations!" Officer Jenny commanded, her voice crisp and authoritative.
"Yes, ma'am!" The officers scrambled to carry out her orders.
Suddenly, a thick fog began to roll in. Sёarᴄh the ηovёlFire .net website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.
Officer Jenny glanced at the sea. She could see the massive creature growing nearer with every passing moment.
"Report!" a technician behind her called out. "The target is now ten kilometers away from the coastline! At its current speed, it'll reach the shore in about ten minutes!"
"Ten minutes." Officer Jenny's brow furrowed. "There's not enough time! Where on earth did that thing come from?!"
Just then, the familiar hum of a helicopter engine broke through the fog.
Everyone looked up to see a helicopter bearing the Paldea Alliance logo descending toward the beach.
A tall, dark-skinned woman with long black hair and a commanding presence stepped out. Her expression was serious, and though she was young, she exuded authority and power.
Seeing her, Officer Jenny immediately saluted, "Chief!"
This was Geeta the Paldea League's Champion, president of the Paldea Pokémon League, and widely regarded as one of the most powerful trainers in the world.
Geeta had been inspecting the Glaseado Mountain Gym the previous day and had stayed overnight, intending to return to the League in the morning. The unexpected events had drawn her here instead.
"What's the situation?" Geeta asked, her voice calm but firm.
Officer Jenny nodded, explaining, "About an hour ago, we received a distress call from some fishermen. They saw a massive black shadow moving quickly under the sea. They were terrified at first, thinking they'd be attacked, but the creature didn't seem to have any ill intentions toward them. It just kept heading toward the Paldea region."
Geeta silently processed the information, then took the telescope from Officer Jenny and walked to the shoreline, where waves crashed against the rocks. Raising the telescope, she peered through the mist at the distant sea.
Through the fog, Geeta could make out the enormous silhouette approaching. The sheer size of it was overwhelming.
"What kind of Pokémon is this?" Geeta muttered under her breath.
Officer Jenny shook her head. "The helicopter we sent to investigate hasn't returned yet."
No sooner had she said this than another helicopter touched down on the beach. A young officer leaped out, his face pale with fear.
"Report!" the officer stammered, running up to Officer Jenny and Geeta.
"What's the situation?" Officer Jenny asked sharply.
The young officer's voice shook as he spoke, "That... that thing isn't a monster. It's a giant Dragonite! It's estimated to be over 30 meters tall! If you include the underwater portion, it's likely closer to 40 meters!"
"Forty meters... of Dragonite?" Officer Jenny repeated in disbelief.
Everyone present felt the color drain from their faces.
Geeta's mind raced. A Dragonite of that size-a creature of such scale was unimaginable. It was like a real sea monster from legends. The thought sent chills down her spine.
But she quickly snapped back to the present, knowing that time was running out.
"If a Dragonite of that size reaches a city, the destruction will be unimaginable," Geeta said grimly.
She pondered for a moment and asked, "Did you attract its attention when you approached?" The young police officer shook his head, "No, it didn't make any aggressive moves, and it doesn't seem malicious!"
Geeta nodded and then fell into deep thought.
Officer Jenny asked, "Chief, what should we do?"
Geeta recalled the fishermen's report and replied, "It has no malicious intent, which means its purpose is most likely not to attack humans."
Officer Jenny was slightly startled, "Should we stop the evacuation?"
Geeta shook her head firmly, "No, even if it has no ill intentions, its size alone could cause significant damage to the city just by coming ashore!"
She paused for a moment, thinking again.
Officer Jenny remained silent, not wanting to interrupt.
After a long while, Geeta suddenly asked, "Have you notified the Gym Leader of the Alfornada
Gym?"
If Geeta remembered correctly, Tulip, the leader of the Alfornada Gym, had a Pokémon capable of telepathy, which could help communicate with the giant Dragonite.
Officer Jenny quickly nodded, "Yes! I have already notified Tulip, and they are on their way!"
At first, she hadn't known the champion would be nearby, so she had called on all available Gym Leaders in the region.
"Understood," Geeta said as she climbed into the helicopter. "I will try to communicate with the Dragonite first. When Tulip arrives, send them directly to me."
Officer Jenny saluted, "Yes, ma'am!"
As Geeta boarded the helicopter and headed toward the giant Dragonite, Officer Jenny felt a deep sense of admiration.
At that moment, she realized why Geeta had earned the respect and admiration of all Pokémon trainers in the Paldea region at such a young age.
The fog thickened as the helicopter moved steadily forward.
Geeta looked calmly at the sea below, watching as the waves grew larger, influenced by the
movements of the massive Dragonite.
Suddenly, she heard the pilot in front of her shout, "Ma'am, we're here!"
The helicopter hovered in front of the massive black shadow. Geeta stood up and gazed at the
colossal Dragonite through the fog.
Even with the mist clouding her view, Geeta could feel the powerful and ancient aura
emanating from the creature.
With just one glance, the Champion of Paldea was astonished.
'The aura it exuded wasn't something that any ordinary Pokémon could produce. Where did
this Dragonite come from? What was its purpose?'
There were still so many mysteries in the world of Pokémon that humanity hadn't uncovered,
and Geeta had no desire to provoke a direct conflict with such a powerful entity. Standing in the open doorway of the helicopter, she attempted to communicate with it.
"Stop now! Many humans and Pokémon live on this land. If you continue forward, you'll
destroy everything in your path!"
But her words elicited no response.
The enormous Dragonite continued to advance, oblivious to her plea.
Seeing this, Geeta frowned. Without hesitation, she pulled out a Poké Ball, and with a flash of
white light, a towering Avalugg landed on the frozen sea below.
"Avalugg, freeze the nearby waters!" she commanded.
With a mighty roar, Avalugg unleashed its ice-type power. The surrounding sea began to freeze rapidly, creating an impassable barrier of ice in front of the advancing Dragonite.
Finally, the Dragonite seemed to take notice.
It lowered its massive head and gazed at the Pokémon trying to block its path. Then, without warning, the Dragonite opened its mouth wide. A terrifying energy began to gather within, radiating with destructive force. In a matter of seconds, that energy condensed into a powerful, thick beam of light and shot directly at the ice barrier.
The frozen ice surface shattered instantly, sending massive waves crashing across the sea. The overwhelming force of the giant Dragonite's energy beam vaporized the ice, turning it into thick white mist, further adding to the dense fog surrounding them.
Despite Avalugg, a champion-level Pokémon, it appeared small and fragile, like a solitary boat drifting in the middle of a violent storm. The sheer power of the Dragonite was beyond
anything Geeta had anticipated.
Geeta stood there in stunned silence.
"This Dragonite's strength, It's likely beyond Champion level!" she thought in shock.
As visions of devastation flashed through her mind-collapsed buildings, a once-thriving city reduced to smoldering ruins, and people fleeing in panic-Geeta realized the danger.
"We can't let it reach the shore," she resolved firmly.
Seeing that communicating with the Dragonite had failed, Geeta was ready to use every ounce
of her strength to stop the creature. But just then, another helicopter approached, carrying Tulip, the Psychic-type Gym Leader from Alfornada.
Tulip stepped out of the helicopter with a calm yet playful smile. "This is the first time I've seen you look so serious, Geeta! But don't worry, I'll take it from here."
Geeta, though slightly relieved, still felt the weight of the situation. She recalled Avalugg and
stood ready. Tulip then sent out her Gardevoir, the Psychic-type Pokémon capable of telepathy.
Gardevoir appeared in mid-air, its eyes glowing a radiant blue as it prepared to communicate
with the massive Dragonite.
Without hesitation, Gardevoir vanished, reappearing near the giant Dragonite. The colossal creature stopped its advance and gazed at the Gardevoir, its eyes locked on the new arrival.
Geeta and Tulip watched with bated breath. On the surface, both maintained their composure,
but inside, they were filled with nervous anticipation.
Tulip had witnessed the devastating power of the Dragonite's energy beam on her way here, and despite her experience, she found the scene unbelievable.
On the shore, Miss Jenny and the police officers shared the same tension, anxiously awaiting
any sign of hope.
Moments stretched on-seconds feeling like minutes, and minutes like hours. Finally,
Gardevoir returned to Tulip's side.
Geeta and Tulip rushed to ask, "What happened? What did it say?" Gardevoir's telepathic voice echoed in their minds, calm and serene: "It says it's looking for its companions."
