60 Misconstructed Information
“Boss, we have sent all the details to you. Also, the young man had gone offline immediately he was done and we still can’t reach him this instant.” Lu Bo, one of the six Lu guards who Qin Yichen and also the one that served as his eyes for the technology team of Qin Corporation reported to him the next day.
“You can track his IP address and I’ll take the details and get his background details.” Qin Yichen said as he stared at the art painting in his living room and then placed his cellphone back into his pocket.
With a cup of coffee in hand, this had very quickly become an habit for him. Every morning for the past one week since he left, he would stand there and look at the painting that Rong Yue made.
It was almost as if staring at the picture helped him reconnect with his little girl.
He pulled out his phone and then went to a certain contact. “Yue”
The name was simple and gave away nothing but the look in his eyes as he looked at his phone, more specifically, the contact gave away the emotions running through his mind.
With a deep sigh, he returned the phone back into his pocket and then turned to Lu San that was carrying his folders.
“Let’s go.”
“Also, Lu Bo would send you some details later on, for the young man that won the entrance test for the Anxi Association. Make sure to run a background check on him until you are sure he’s safe to join.” He instructed and looked back slightly to be sure that Lu San had actually heard him before he finally started moving.
.....
On the other hand,
“It’s colder outside today.” Rong Xia said as she pulled Rong Yue closer and wrapped a brown knitted scarf around her neck. Because of the white shirt from her uniform with the scarf, she appeared even more beautiful today.
“Thank you mother.” Rong Yue leaned in and gave her m a peck on both cheeks before grabbing her food box and heading out of the house.
Even though the weather and extreme coldness that signified the beginning of another season made the whole place seem gloomy, Rong Yue was on a different high when she woke up and saw that she had been sent the money for winning the competition.
Since she logged out last night, she hadn’t logged in back and also didn’t check her mail.
By the time she got the message from the bank she had used, it was already too late as she needed to get to school.
Accessing the mail from her phone while she was in school was also a bad idea, after all, she would have to reply and probably do the needful things like a video call for getting into the association.
“Yue’er!” Sun Li called excitedly as soon as she got to the block for the senior students.
“Sun Li. How are you?” Rong Yue asked while looking at her suspiciously. Sun Li could be said as one of the most punctual students because her family most likely had a time for dropping her off.
Even on days when she had come as early as thirty minutes earlier, she had still met Sun Li in school so now seeing her wait here for her, bag and food pack still in hand was enough to make her suspicious.
“I’m fineeee..” Sun Li replied with a drag to show her cherry mood.
“Yue’er, my family said they would like to meet you this weekend, on Saturday to discuss some matters with you. Now that it’s certain, wo...would you accompany me on Friday somewhere?”
The first part of her statement sounded like she was informing Rong Yue, yet, the excitement and expectations that lit her eyes up when she asked Rong Yue to accompany her made her curious.
“To where?”
“You would know soon. You just need to accompany me there. Didn’t you say you needed to know the things that I enjoyed doing?”
Hearing her words, Rong Yue nodded.
“Okay, that’s fine, I’ll accompany you after school.” She promised, wincing as the girl beside her jumped up in excitement.
Rong Yue waited until her excitement died down and then the both of them made their way to the class.
On their way to class, Rong Yue paused and frowned slightly as she saw the blurry view of someone with a mass of electric blue hair turn into a corridor just before they reached it.
If he had been walking ahead of them, she should have seen him, yet, he had dashed out from somewhere and seemed like he had been running.
Although he seemed to have dyed his hair, she was almost certain that the person that just dashed ahead in front of her was the young man that she had once met when she was alone in school some weeks back.
If she had not seen him now, that memory would have most probably been lost forever.
She silently wondered who her was as they walked, but was still able to keep her conversation with Sun Li flowing without appearing distracted.
Like everyday, classes passed smoothly and Rong Yue was finally glad to not have to sit beside Tong Yang.
Although they still met and had interactions, it was a completely different thing from having to sit beside her and pretend to be okay.
“Wu Hao, let’s create a syllabus that we can share and then we can revise together an hour when we have a break and an hour after school.” Rong Yue told him as the three of them sat down together during lunch.
Now, they had become close friends and all sat down together during lunch in schools and when they had any activity where their regular sitting arrangements didn’t matter.
“Is that going to be enough? I have heard that it’s quite difficult.” Wu Hao asked, uncertainty clouding his face.
“Hmmm, I think it will be, you study separately for how long you need to for you to cover what module we are on, I’ll also do the same and we just revise after on to be sure that we have finished on it.” She went on to explain more to him until Wu Hao got the drift.
The poor boy that had been trying to get more time with her nodded reluctantly.
After lunch, Rong Yue was surprised to see that her seat mate who usually only came when the second half of the classes were beginning had already arrived even before the bell for lunch break ended.
“Good afternoon.” She greeted politely before dragging out her chair to sit down. She felt his gaze on her and out of curiosity, Rong Yue turned to look at him, after all, she had no idea what he really looked like with all that hoodie blocking his face.
The moment she turned, her body stiffened with subtle surprise.
The young man beside her had devastatingly handsome features, yet, that face had been destroyed by several red punch marks on his face that it was hard to tell exactly what he looked like.
From the color of the punch marks and her experience with watching her mom treat people, she could confirm that this was something that had happened only very recently.
However, there were also some that looked like they were already healing, all the scars made him look hideous and scary. After all, sporting a face full of black and red hit marks wasn’t something that someone would expect to see in a school.
Her brows raised up subconsciously as she leaned in to whisper. “Are you okay?”
Song Jian’s body froze at her words and he immediately turned away from her without saying a word.
Although his reaction was evasive, Rong Yue felt like it seemed more alarmed than angry.
However, she said nothing and just faced her notes. Yet her mind was whirling.
The bruises on his face wasn’t small. If he was being beaten by a parent, or a guardian, no one could guarantee that he would not be beaten up someday.
After class, Song Jian dashed out of the classroom before Rong Yue could even say a word making her chuckle softly.
Somehow, she felt like, perhaps, all the rumors about this boy was just misconstrued information.
Although his face was nothing pleasant to look with all the hit marks, she had not felt any evil or bad aura from him or even his eyes when she had looked at him.
Even though she had all these thoughts, Rong Yue had no intention of doing anything, after all, she wasn’t someone that enjoyed meddling.
After class, she waved goodbye to Sun Li who didn’t want to attend evening study session that evening, while she and Wu Hao waited behind to create that shared syllabus and reading guide.
After spending an hour on creating it, she also bade him good bye and went back home to attend to all the matters from joining the Anxi Association.
