69 Mo Yifan
“A beauty that could shine even through blurry cameras, yet as fiery as a hundred year volcano.” a voice rang out behind her making Rong Yue turn without even thinking. Her eyes narrowed as she saw the man clothed in pure white coming towards her.
White was such a pure colour, yet on this man, he made the colour seem like an intriguing plot twist.
The man before her had an out of the world beauty and a head full of ashen and almost silver hair. From his physical appearance, one could even mistake him as an immortal. Yet, Rong Yue was certain that immortals would not carry this aura that seemed like that of an ancient caged beast. His entire body reeked of a dangerous aura that made all the nerves in her body stand at alert and she watched him guardedly as he took step after step towards her.
“Don’t lose your fire on my account..” the man said, his voice low enough to be mistaken as a whisper as he closed the gap between them.
His eyes were softened as he saw her up close, his entire aura softening by a little bit. He then used his slender hands to raise her chin upwards, so that Rong Yue could meet his eyes directly. “I happen to like that fire.”
It took Rong Yue a while to detach herself from the suppressive aura he had brought in and she immediately swatted his hands away from her chin.
“How dare you?” she spat out angrily, the arrogance deeply embedded in her from standing at the peak and being someone the whole world had once wanted to meet mixed with the sharpness from cheating death burst out from her as her brain registered what had just happened.
The way he had treated her like she was just some toy made her eyes flame up and the temperature in the hallway became even lower.
The man in front of her chuckled, his eyes twinkling with excitement. “I had almost thought I was mistaken for a moment there.” he muttered and then folded his hands across his chest like he wanted to watch a show.
.....
However, even though his stance still gave off an oppressive and slight ooze of danger, anyone that knew him would know that this was the most relaxed anyone could see him.
“I’m here for Son Jian. I would pay all of the money he owes while you hand him over to me and let your men know that you can never lay your hands on him again.” Rong Yue told him, going straight to the point as she moved what had just happened to the back of her mind.
“Who is he to you? Your boyfriend?” Mo Yifan asked, his eyes narrowing dangerously as he looked at the school uniform she was wearing. He remembered one of his men mentioning something about the brat going to school which was the only reason why he hadn’t been killed by now.
No matter how little, he could never let anyone cheat him and go scot free.
“That’s none of your business. I have the money he owes and that’s all.” Rong Yue replied back, having no intention to entertain him.
“I guess you are mistaken about something.” Mo Yifan started and Rong Yue somehow felt like what was about to come out of his mouth wasn’t good news.
“The time lapse for paying in money seemed to have passed.” Mo Yifan said as he closed the distance that Rong Yue had kept between them in one stride.
Rong Yue didn’t move and instead squared her shoulders and then folded her arms as she looked him back in the eye.
“Perhaps, you might want to see your little lover first.” Mo Yifan said sourly as he walked past her. Without him saying it, she followed behind him while a part of her prayed that nothing had happened to Song Jian.
After seeing that he even had two sisters and had said nothing about it or even tried to sell them off to these men, she had grown another level of respect. There was also some part that felt like she needed to do this for him. Do this for her past self.
When they had gotten to this floor, she had imagined that it was just like the others up until the man in front of her entered the passwords to a door that up until he had done that looked exactly like a wall. She looked at him with curiosity.
Who was this man?
Even the technology seemed a lot more advanced than all the other technology on the floors they had passed.
She followed him without a word down another hallway and then another before he finally stopped in front of a door.
“Ladies first.” Mo Yifan said with mock courtesy as he opened the door and then stepped aside for her to enter. The moment she entered, anger flared through Rong Yue’s body at the sight of Song Jian, stripped bare with only his underwear covering his body while his whole body was tied up.
“Bastard!” she cursed out without thinking.
“Careful there, firefly, this is what is done to everyone and anyone that steals from me.” Mo Yifan growled lowly, her insult getting to him clearly.
“He didn’t steal, he was skipping hours to attend school. Do you really want an eighteen year old teen to halt his life for you? What happens when he’s done paying? A life that has no more hope or space for him to survive?” the more she looked at the badly handled Song Jian, the more upset she was.
“He’s only alive because I already considered that act of defiance by him forgiven. However, I have no intention to let go of my debt with him.”
“I will pay for that, now let him go.” Rong Yue said immediately and Mo Yifan somehow found her anxiety and care for the boy an unpleasant feeling.
“Like I said earlier, he has passed the payment time of paying debts in cash. It’s in there in the contract his father signed. Now the only payment acceptable can only be decided by me.”
“State your price then.” Rong Yue said impatiently as she looked at the mischievous glint shining in the man’s eyes.
“You.” Mo Yifan said and then added right after.
“I want you as the payment of his debt.”
