Chapter 28: Quiet

The staff of the academy has been working day and night to prepare and polish the whole academy for the event.

Every single hallway was filled with at least one of them trying to clean every single molecule of dust.

The cleaners, the instructors and the second year and third year students were all getting ready for something that they could do.

Every one of them, except for the new first year students who had just entered their semester, had something to do.

All the first year students had to do was sit and listen.

The students of Class-C stood in their class quietly, as was instructed by Headmaster Gideon, for the instructor to make sure that everyone in the class was trained the day before the speech was delivered to be quiet.

Everyone had their eyes on Akshar since he had messed them up many times, causing them to have to repeat the practice of keeping their mouths shut.

The worst part was they could get away with small whispers, but Akshar would just laugh at random moments for no reason causing everyone to lose their focus.

Everyone looked at the timer that the instructor had on his stopwatch and waited while keeping another eye on the purist barbarian.

His eyes have been swollen from getting beaten up by Peyton, who wanted all of it to end, so he was forced to seal his mouth shut.

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief as Akshar finally ran around the class screaming from holding it in for far too long.

They didn't complain much as they knew that it would be eventually worth it.

Most of them tried hard to contain their excitement in class, but those who couldn't start talking amongst themselves about it:

"I hope tomorrow I will get a chance to talk to him."

"No chance, you know the kind of people he talks to, right?"

"I mean it's still worth a try."

"Don't shame this class please. The barbarian might do that for us tomorrow, we don't need another clown."

"Guess you're right."

One student raised his hands, looking around, before getting the attention of the instructor.

"Sir! I've just realized that one guy is not present."

The instructor nodded, "He got a leave so it's all okay."

They couldn't process how George could have managed to get a leave from such an important event.

As far as they knew, George didn't have many connections as his 'parents' had died.

However, there were also a small minority of students who nodded as if they already knew what was going on.

Jame had sold the information to a few students who he had contact with. It was a pretty decent business, although there is normally a lot of crime involved in it when the business got too big.

"Hey, Peyton..." The kid who was beside him said. Peyton didn't know who he was or what his name was. From day one, the kid acted as if both of them were friends.

"You know, I heard some pretty interesting information... I know why George is not here, I also know why George got the leave."

Peyton raised his eyebrow, intrigued. It had only been a few days, but the name 'George Sterlinguard' had become a very mysterious name.

"So, what's this information?"

"I can't tell you exactly what, because of a certain agreement, but, I can tell you where you could get this information." He replied.

Peyton shook his head once more, "Sure, tell me." n-)o/(v.(e.-l..b/-I-(n

"Look at the seat beside where George is supposed to be sitting." He pointed.

"Yeah?"

"Right beside him there is this one guy, his name is Jame."

"Jame? Not James?"

"Yeah, it's weird, but he is one of the guys that loves finding and researching rumors and would often sell rumors that they confirm to be true."

"And... how can you confirm that it is true?"

"It's a family thing... His family is into selling information like him."

"Alright..." Peyton stood up before heading towards where Jame was sitting, still writing notes on his rumor.

As he got closer, he could see that the scribbles on the note were very messy, but the separate notes that he had prepared for his assignment were undeniably much more neat than the ones in which he wrote his rumors.

'He purposely makes it messy to avoid people from getting free information... Interesting.'

"Hey."

"Yeah?" Jame asked, lifting his head.

"I want to buy some information."

"Sure. Which one?"

"The one regarding the guy who is supposed to be sitting beside you."

Jame took a piece of paper and neatly wrote the information on it before handing it to him. "That would be 1 silver shilling."

"Yeah yeah..." Peyton produced a coin from his side pocket and threw it toward Jame.

Jame's eyes brightened, "This is a gold coin!"

"Keep it, give me information in the future if you get any about him."

"I'll give you all the information I get for the next three months for sure!" Jame smiled as he kept the gold coins safe in a secret pocket.

Peyton quickly looked at the contents of the paper, 'So he has some connections with the Emerald City castle, huh... Interesting...'

He quickly tore the paper to pieces before leaving the class, satisfied with what he had just gotten, while Jame was smiling brighter than the sun from how much he had just earned in a day.

"Hey!" A loud voice caused him to turn at the empty seat beside him.

"Akshar?" Jame moved his chair backward, startled by how close the barbarian was seated near him.

"I hear you have INFORMATION." The barbarian placed a silver coin and pushed it towards him, "Give me what you gave him."

Jame quickly pocketed the silver shilling and kept it with his gold coin.

"Here." He handed a piece of paper containing the same information that he handed to Peyton.

"I can't READ... READ IT TO ME..."

Jame sighed, "Fine, George has connections with Sir Michael and was seen..."
