Mira wiped the blood from her blade, eyeing the fallen robed figures.
"Anticlimactic indeed."
She muttered, glancing over at Alex, who was sitting against an ashen tree with a smirk.
"Still." She added, walking over to the lead figure who targeted Alex at the beginning of the fight.
"We should see if they're carrying anything useful."
Alex agreed with her idea, and she knelt down and began rifling through his pockets.
Alex, since he had nothing better to do, kept an eye out on the surroundings in case any other third parties 'accidentally' stumbled upon them while Mira was busy searching.
"Anything?"
Alex asked, his voice still hoarse from the fight.
Mira shook her head, tossing aside a small pouch that looked unassuming at first, but caused Alex's brows to raise in curiosity when he saw Mira's whole arm disappear inside of it when she tried searching it.
It was clearly some sort of spatial storage item, that was for sure, but it was just more unique than the other types of spatial items they had seen before.
"Nothing of value. Just scouts, it seems."
She had already ascertained the identity of these figures as people who weren't exactly combatant focused, sheerly from their lack of skills and experience during the fight.
But, as she continued searching the remaining bodies, something clicked in her mind. A realisation, a sharp one at that.
"The king."
She spoke, her voice cutting through the boredom Alex was starting to feel.
Alex raised an eyebrow, not immediately following.
"What about it?"
"We never looted the King's body..."
Mira replied, standing up quickly.
"We must have been caught up in the heat of the moment! We just left it behind!"
Alex's grin slowly formed into a frown.
"Yeah, not exactly a priority when we were fighting for our lives."
Normally, he would keep a spare pair of clothes if he knew he would be out of town for a long time, or if he was going into a fight he knew might get messy... in the clothes department.
But his trip to the Primordial Expanse hadn't exactly been planned, and neither was Mira's, as such they hadn't packed any spares.
"Got any ideas?"
Mira asked, her tone somewhere between exasperation and amusement.
Since they were on the main road, they had already garnered a few odd stares every now and then when a passerby came past, but they had mostly ignored them.
Alex thought for a moment, scanning the road ahead with his eyes.
Then, it was like a lightbulb went off in his mind.
"I've got it."
He began to steer them off the main road, toward the outer wall of Tenebrus.
Mira followed him closely from behind, admiring the 'view'.
But as they reached the periphery of the city and started walking along the city's perimeter, Mira couldn't help but ask.
"Where are you taking us? How is this going to fix your lack of clothes problem!?"
Alex grinned with a mischievous glint in his eye.
"You'll see."
And gave her a cheeky wink.
But she just couldn't take him seriously when he just did that while butt ass naked...
"I can't exactly walk through the main gates like this, can I? While this place may look and feel very medieval, it still abides by nearly the same customs as we do in the Federation."
"You can't just go streaking in public in the middle of the day! Not to mention it would be quite embarrassing..."
Mira raised an eyebrow, and let him continue.
"So, we'll find a more secluded, quieter way in."
Mira shook her head and sighed.
"This is ridiculous..."
