Just a quick reminder of Alex’s current stats since they haven’t been shown for a while.

And this little shock was shown to Alex almost instantly.

With the topic of requirements coming up, out of curiosity, he decided to give his own an odd glance since Rothwind was babbling on and on about the intricacies of what makes a good piece of armour.

[Requirements to reach C rank: Kill 1 B+ rank, Variant class foe]

[Completed]

He rubbed his eyes, thinking that maybe he wasn’t seeing things correctly.

But when that wasn’t enough, he tried closing and reopening his details panel.

But still, that same [Completed] tag was still there in all its big, bold letters.

’How and when the hell did I complete this?’

He was utterly dumbfounded by this finding, as he literally couldn’t quite wrap his head around it.

This whole time, he had been stressing about when he would find a B+ rank Variant class beast to kill, and yet that didn’t even matter because apparently he had already completed the requirements!

Alex was nearly floored by the notification.

There were so many of them that he felt like he was looking into a swimming pool filled to the brim with the radiant orbs.

"What... the hell... is all this?"

Alex even muttered aloud, bringing the attention of Rothwind and Mira over to him, with their eyes scanning him with curiosity, wondering what had him so shocked.

Each orb was just sitting there dormant, waiting for him to pick them out.

But he was still struggling to figure out where they had all even come from!

’Wait! Was it my last attack?’

Almost immediately his mind was drawn to the destruction he had caused in his final moments in the fight against the King of Evermoor.

He did cause an explosion that spread across thousands of kilometres of land after all...

Perhaps there were some innocent beasts that were unfortunately in the area at that time...

But if he recalled correctly, the last time he had caused an explosion of mass destruction, back when he destroyed the Red Demon base, killing tens of thousands of Red Demons at once, he hadn’t received a single soul orb in return.

So why was this time different?

Was it because the first explosion with the Red Demons wasn’t caused by his own power, but from an external source?

While the one against the King of Evermoor had clearly been his sole power?

Perhaps that was it?

Regardless, Alex wouldn’t get an answer unless he asked the system itself, and considering it hadn’t chimed in with one already, then he was expecting it to stay silent.

The system would have answered him already if it was going to be of help to him.

But he considered his own hypothesis to be the most likely answer.

Which left him to deal with his unexpected rewards...

What the hell was he supposed to do with over a thousand soul orbs!??

There was no way in hell he would be able to use them all himself, besides, the vast majority of them were too low of a rank for him to use anyway?

Glisten!

’What is that?’

However, while thinking about what he would do with all of them, he noticed a particularly bright shine coming from deep beneath the big pit of soul orbs.

His curiosity drew him over to investigate.
