To her surprise, though Kazuya shook his head, he inched closer to her face and gently brushed his lips against hers, "You, don't have to rush any of this, you can take your time. Besides, I'm not good at this either,"
"That has to be a lie," Lyn muttered. At first, she truly believed that Kazuya had no experience whatsoever. But just now the way he kissed her.
"It's not a lie, but it's up to you to believe me."
Kazuya stood up, "Do you want some food? I'll send for some."
Lyn nodded, now that he mentioned it she was quite hungry.
…..
When Kazuya called for the servants earlier, at first, they didn't see her with him. So they simply picked up a piece of old rotten bread from the basket they were carrying. But, when she peeked from the curtain. The servants immediately recognized her and went, 'The Princess is here!', and in a flash second, they returned with trays and trays of food. Her sweat fell when she saw how extravagant the food was, and the amount too.
"I can't eat all this, can you Kazuya?"
"Mmm, not possible. Maybe we can pack some? I'll give it to the others."
"Ah? Your friends! I haven't met the others properly yet," Lyn said excitedly, "What are they like?"
"The other's," Kazuya drawled and shook his head, "Believe me, you're better of not finding out."
Eh? Maybe he doesn't want to share. Well, she supposes it's okay. Lyn opened up one of the covers.
When she saw the juicy looking stake, her mouth watered, "Meat?!"
Kazuya chuckled, "Yeah, they served some at the meeting earlier. Guessing there was some left over."
"You get to eat like this during work?"
Lyn looked at him with an envious look, and Kazuya smiled as he cut the steak with his fork. "Say ah Lyn,"
"Ah," By instinct, Lyn obeyed him and opened her mouth. The moment she did Kazuya placed the fork filled with meat inside her mouth. It took her by surprise, rather than focus on the taste; she focused on the fact that Kazuya had just fed her. Her cheeks turned red, "I'm not a child."
"I know," and he does know. Lyn knew that Kazuya has always treated her like she was his equal.
During the rest of her meal, she allowed Kazuya to feed her while her thoughts wandered off to the kiss. She wondered if it was okay to ask him to teach her how to kiss properly. It's something she should know, right? Lyn didn't want to be unprepared the next time they kissed. Besides, she didn't mind it too much. Kazuya kissing her. Realizing how bold that sounded, she frantically shook her head. Don't be stupid.
...….
After eating, Lyn felt satisfied - she has never eaten this much food before. Though high-quality food is not utterly foreign to her due to the meals she has with her family, which has strangely been increasing lately. During those times, it is hard to swallow the food.
"Say, Kazuya, what are we doing?" Lyn asked.
"Relaxing."
"On the floor?"
Kazuya chuckled, "You will see soon," she watched as Kazuya scanned the room before he walked to a cabinet. Her eyes lit up as she watched him break the lock easily. So strong, Lyn wondered if one day she could be like that too.
Since meeting Kazuya and the others, Lyn could no longer deny the reality she had been doing so the whole time. The thoughts she pushed to the back of her mind resurfaced, she really does want to help people. Ever since she was younger, Lyn always had a single dream; she wants to end it. Peoples suffering, their pain - while one cannot completely dismiss negativity. Lyn wanted to create a better world where the pain people felt is minor and would not affect their lives. Lyn lifted her hand towards the ceiling, now that she got a closer look at the place - it differed slightly from the other rooms.
The walls were the usual stone grey color, and yet the royal statues were perched beside the bookcases. Paintings hung on both sides of the room. Lyn noticed how there was no window, indeed a perfect place for a meeting. There is no way for people on the outside to hear, but that did not mean it was completely safe. The walls have ears after all. One has to remain vigilant and guarded. Her gaze fell on the ceiling, "How pretty," Lyn muttered quietly.
The ceiling was not the average plain one; instead, the shape is like a dome, droplets similar to raindrops created a pattern. A person could easily get lost in. So there are beautiful places like this in the Main Castle too. Now that she thought about it, have her circ.u.mstances changed greatly because of Kazuya? He must have done something. In the past, it would not be possible for her to leave so easily, and she would need Pupillam or the General with her. However, recently, she has not been with the two as much. These beautiful places, in the castle - and outside. The outside world, the other Kingdoms. Lyn wondered if the time would come where she could explore everything.
Her thoughts broke off when somebody grabbed hold of her hand from behind, Kazuya lips at her neck, "A beautiful sight, is it not?"
"It is, say, don't you think our hands are perfect together?" It was random and out of the blue. But just now that thought came to mind.
"I do," Kazuya squeezed her hands as though to reassure her.
Lyn closed her eyes, and for the next few minutes they remained this way, it felt like time had stopped, and they were the only ones in the room. She felt Kazuyas lips on her neck but didn't push him away; his quiet breathing made her tense body relax. If she is with this person, Lyn felt like she could do anything.
