It bothers her that Kazuya is listening to her sister and believing her words so much. But, it's most likely because he confirmed it with his own eyes. Lyn took a deep breath before she closed the distance between her and Kazuya again, "What will it take for you to listen to me?"
.....
- Allen's Mansion, Surri Town -
Lyn had a feeling he would do this.
It was clear that the lack of equipment was not an issue. But even then Lyn genuinely thought that Kazuya would at least let her stay.
To think he knocked her out like that, a deep sigh passed her lips. She supposes it can't be helped. The room she woke up too was not unfamiliar to her. Allen had a bad habit of decorating his rooms the same. Lyn placed her hand on her head and side, even without looking at a mirror. Lyn knew there was no physical injury of any kind. Why would there be? Kazuya would never harm her, 'Lyn, I'll come back later,' his words were gentle even when he knocked her out. When she briefly woke up, Lyn felt his lips on hers.
"Lyn? Can I come inside?" a knock disrupted her thoughts.
"Yes."
The doors opened and out stepped Allen, "I see you're awake."
He probably used his magic, otherwise what's with this strange timing? Then again, Allen has always been oddly perspective when it came to her. He walked over and sat down on the chair, "How are you feeling?"
"Kazuya."
Allen sighed, "I told him it was ridiculous."
Lyn shook her head, "It's not like I don't understand why," she understands it. Even if she has gotten a lot better, she's still a naive and clueless about most things. Not to mention her skills, "I would have slowed them down."
"Lyn...."
Before Allen could say anything, the doors opened, and Lyn recognized the person who just entered. It was one of Allen's messengers.
"Prince Allen, they say the one named Kazuya was ambushed."
At that comment, her eyes widened. Ah?!!! Allen immediately pulled her into his embrace, "Where is he now? Was there not somebody else with him?"
"The other person returned shortly after Princess Lyn."
Does that mean Kazuya decided to get it himself? That moron, it's no wonder the enemy thought they could attack him. Prince Ereland must be keeping a close eye on them. After getting the rest of the details, Allen turned to her.
"Do not fret; I will make sure he is present in today's ball."
"Ball?"
"It's part of the plan change," Allen trailed off, "Tonight we will hold a grand ball, and invite Prince Ereland and his men. As well as all the elites in town."
"There are elites in town?"
Allen nodded, "Yes, before all the thieves crawled in. This was once a town of influence. This grand party will lure them all out of hiding."
A grand party... If the plan is starting properly tonight, then Kazuya will surely come too right? That idiot, after getting ambushed, was most likely too lazy to head back. Still a party, the last time she went to one as Allen's fiance, she felt very uncomfortable. They couldn't see her face because of the veil, and yet Lyn recalled the gazes of those people.
__
When Allen saw her shiver, he immediately apologized, "Forgive me, Lyn. I didn't want to expose you to these people ever again, but I'm afraid that our marriage is the unfortunate topic of the elite word."
His thoughts broke off when she brushes her hand across his cheek, " That's alright, Allen, I was prepared for this when I accepted the engagement to become a wife. " Prepared, huh? You make it sound as though your going to war or something like that. But he supposes such words are certainly benefiting her. Her touch is warm; he can feel that even now it carries the scent of sunshine.
"There will certainly be many people who will approach us freely, and speak of the matters that we have buried away in the past. Be it with idle chatter or even unwelcoming gossip, but be wary of it. None of it is done through affectionate or sympathy of any kind. I am sure there is no need for me to remind you of this. But I must be reassured that you have this firmly etched into your head. Don't let their insecurities and flattery touch you, Lyn. It's perfectly fine for you to brush their attempts and ignore them. You have no obligation you to give in and disclose information you don't want to. They've already been made aware of the details that need to be said."
Allen's sentence falls short when he felt the tears falling from her eyes. He brushed them away with his hands. " I apologize for putting it bluntly. You do not need to cry. Even now, nobody shall blame you for what happened then."
"There is still 4 hours left, right?" He nodded, " Please, let me cry until then because I cannot show such weakness later on."
....
Lyn fell asleep; he's glad too. Allen felt uneasy about leaving her side when she was in such a state. He carefully made sure the girl was tucked in with the best blankets. But, Allen noticed how she still trembled. A deep sigh passed his lips, "That rumor must be true."
Some guards informed him that Kazuya stayed over at Lyn's quarters a lot. Allen immediately understood the situation; she probably can't fall asleep without him now. Since it's Lyn, she's most likely gotten used to it. Lyn didn't react badly when he mentioned the ball, not that he thought she would.
Even though he understood that this day would eventually have to happen, Allen didn't want to have to do it during this time. Right now she is a lot calmer due to all the negotiations that have been done. However, there is still that clouded look in her eyes. Why? That man named Kazuya is with her now, he is the same man from the incidence back then. Those two, from the very start, were meant to be together.
What depressing thoughts, it's unlike him. But the thought of anything befalling that man doesn't sit well with him.
The man named Kazuya's power levels have stabilized, and yet the man is still taking such measures. The stabilization itself is the strangest phenomenon. Although stabilization isn't uncommon, for someone who's king levels were on the verge of a cross down to recover so quickly is unusual, it must be because of that after all. Since Princess Lethia can no longer get close to Kazuya, it appears the irregularities within the man have disappeared.
When he saw his ten guards, including his head aid, by the door, Allen nodded and murmurs, 'good work.' How strange that she is not here.
'I am relieved you return back safely, Prince Allen.'
'Did you think I'd come back half dead?'
'That is not a very pleasant joke.'
Allen recalled that last conversation he had had with his lilac-colored hair aide. He hasn't seen her at all since that time since she appears to be busy with some 'business.' Even if she does not explain it to him, he already knows that the term business is to conceal her spending more time with that man. Although he grew accustomed to Renna not being around so much, the second he gave her free reins a few months back. But it appears as though recently he's been spoiled by her company.
His head guard is useless when it comes to advising him regarding matters like romance. He turned around and looked in the direction of where Lyn's room is. It should be okay for him to leave for a while, he stationed some trusted guards by her door.
