Prince Ereland Mansion - Main Hall-
Prince Ereland has gone ahead and done it hasn't he? Although she expected it as much. When he parted with her earlier, Lyn felt that there was something different about him. Perhaps he already knew, either way, she will have to get out of here. Still, her sweatdropped, her gaze landed on the room; how on earth did she end up entertaining these guests?
'Prince Ereland is not here, and so it's only natural for you the lady to entertain his guests. '
Uh no, she doesn't understand that logic at all. Besides, it's not as though they are married or anything. Even so, that maid. . . is she new? She doesn't seem familiar. But then again numerous maids are working in this place and Prince Ereland only assigned a handful to her - she's only been here for a few hours Perhaps she still doesn't know the inside of this palace too well.
Lyn shook her head; she can't have her doubts now. Everyone is here; things will be okay. Her deep thoughts broke off when she felt the old man beside her slip his hand down her thigh.
. . .eh. .what... .?
"Now then, there's no need to keep up this farse is there? Even if you wear such a disguise, you can only be one person."
"Indeed, Prince Ereland has only expressed interest in one girl."
So she was found out, huh? But, Prince Ereland must have spoken about her, otherwise, why would these low-class nobles know about her? It is easy to distinguish between a low class noble and a high class one. High-class nobles do not wear excessive amounts of jewels or even lavish clothes. There are those like Lady Rei who choose a conservative style. While their clothing is still made from high-quality materials, they do not wear such bright and vibrant colors.
"I see. You know."
"Yes. But don't worry we won't tell, as long as you do me and everybody else a favor," the person who spoke to her was the man in charge. White hair, bright red garments. The outfit looked completely out of place on him, because of his bulging belly.
Do they think it's this easy? If they know who she is, then surely they must know. A favor, huh?
"Okay," Lyn said, as she positioned herself on his lap. The moment she did, Lyn felt uncomfortable. She felt her breathing go unsteady, but Lyn quickly shook her head. It's okay; nothing will happen. This is the part of the plan that Kazuya was so reluctant about. Naturally, Lyn didn't like it either. But there was nobody else.
When Rhys found out about Shaarya, he suggested her instead. But that further strengthened her resolve on the matter. There is no way that she will let Shaarya go through this.
"Ah, as expected. In the end, you wish to get out of here as well. Now let's seal the deal."
Before their lips could meet though, her eye color changed from vibrant purple to red. In a single second blood sprouted out from the center of the man's chest. "What did you d--"
Lyn doesn't give them a chance to say anything else as she turned around. 'She's sorry this must be painful for you right now. But we have to escape from this place, for you to get better,' Lyn spoke to the voice in her head. For the longest time, Lyn thought she was crazy, but it was not like that at all. She really was hearing things.
By the time Lyn finished the entire place was covered in a red color.
Lyn got up and called out, "You're there aren't you Rhys?" immediately after she said those words, Lyn felt a pair of arms wrap around her and Lyn sighed deeply, "Quit messing around."
"I'm not, I've missed you, Lyn."
If he missed her, then he should have come for her sooner idiot. If he missed her, then he should have seen her off before she went. If he missed her, then he should have stopped her from coming here. If he missed her, then stay, don't... don't do those things anymore.
"I know. . . ." she murmurs softly. "I spoke with Kazuya though, he's furious."
Rhys deeply sighed, "When isn't he? So, what did you tell him?"
Lyn, however, didn't get a chance to say anything, when she hears a rustling sound from the curtain.
She elbowed Rhys away," Tatsuya-kun, it's okay you can come out now. This person may seem scary, but he's a good guy."
"Eh, how rude? But, huh, that's the kid?"
The seven-year-old kid appears from behind the curtain and peers over. He carefully made his way over to them; Tatsuya stared at the kid.
"The big brother who saved me. ."
"That's right."
So they ended up going after the Snow Kingdom Princess cousin, they are far too predictable. The reason why she was the only one who could do this job was simply because of the child. A couple of days ago, they received word that a member of the royal family from the Snow Kingdom was missing. At first, Lyn didn't suspect Prince Ereland, why would she? She didn't think the Prince would be stupid enough, to make a move like this. But how wrong was she?
Human trafficking, abuse, money laundering - and even kidnapping. That guy will receive a harsh punishment.
When she hears a familiar melody in the air, she clasps her hands. Good going, with this the darkness should reduce a little.
When she saw Tatsuya's expression slightly pale, Lyn understood right away. Oh, that's right, even if he is brave, he's still a child. He's still a child, and he just witnessed the a.d.u.l.t who has been taking care of him this entire time kill people.
"Tatsuya-kun, are you afraid of me now? Of course, you are," it was a stupid question. Who wouldn't be afraid after seeing something like that? Lyn, however, kept on smiling, "If you're afraid, go with big brother over here."
At that comment, Tatsuya shook his head, "No! I'm not afraid. I'm not afraid," the young boy trailed off, "It's just, miss Lyn you were in pain."
Lyn's gaze softened, "What a kind boy. But it's all right to be afraid. You saw something scary just now, after all."
Tatsuya burst into years then, and Lyn reached over and gently pulled the kid into an embrace, "It's alright to cry Tatsuya-kun. But you have to learn to get stronger, for your own sake and your relatives. This is the last time I will see you."
"We can't meet anymore?"
"That's right. Because your cousin doesn't like me, and even if she did, it wouldn't be right. Tatsuya-kun, stay strong. I like the Tatsuya-kun, who is always trying his hardest."
The boy slowly nodded his head, "I will do my best. Miss Lyn, bye-bye."
"En," Lyn stood up and beckoned Tatsuya forward to Rhys. Just as Lyn does, so she hears footsteps from outside of the room, what a malicious presence. Lyn supposed using the curse powers in a place like this draws too much attention." Take care of him, Rhys."
"All right."
Lyn expected him to leave just like that, but instead, he leaned forward and softly kissed her forehead. Her eyes widened. It was light but a kiss, nonetheless. But what surprised her was how gentle it was.
"Stay safe." With those words said Rhys left with Tatsuya, leaving her completely stunned.
Lyn placed her hand on her forehead and felt a familiar mark. What an idiot, really...
