Kazuya tells her. After seeing the necklace, he suddenly felt guilty. How much does Lyn remember? He wanted to ask that. But for now, he needs to tell her about Lethia. For the next few minutes, Lyn patiently listened to him; she only interrupted once in a while to ask questions.
Finally, after a long time, Lyn took a deep breath, "I think I get it, I mean my sister is clearly after my life. She probably thinks she isn't getting anywhere with her current methods, so she wants to get rid of the source."
"I'm sorry."
Lyn shook her head, "I do understand Kazuya, but even then it makes me lonely," it's then Kazuya sees the tears in the girl's eyes. Ah...
Kazuya brushes his fingers against Lyn's eyes to wipe the tear away, "And? And? What else is there?'
He wanted to know everything about her. All the things that made her uneasy, everything that makes her smile.
"I know we can't often meet because of my circ.u.mstances and you being the ambassador... But when you finish your work, I want the first one you go see first to be me."
"Yeah. I'd also like that."
"And I think you should put more effort into your other jobs."
"Yes."
"And I like the way you embrace me anywhere and call my name."
"Thanks," Kazuya replied awkwardly. But isn't she getting a bit off-topic here? Still, since she is on this topic, he may as well ask, "You only like my embraces?"
"No, I like your kisses, and when you touch me."
"Lyn."
"I understand that you have to work with my sister because of your job. But I don't like it. I want you only to touch and hold me. I want to be the only one you think about."
At that comment, Kazuya pulled Lyn closer to him and undoes the collar on his top, "Then, mark me as yours. So that nobody else will think so otherwise to touch me."
Lyn blushed, "Gosh, I thought you were just going to ask me for a kiss or make me say I love you or something."
"I don't have to make you say I love you."
"Your way too confident," Lyn trailed off and sighed, "You know that would have sounded cool and all. If you didn't meet my sister again."
Kazuya cursed in his head; perhaps he should have accepted Rhys offer about concealing it after all. To his surprise though Lyn chuckled, "But that's fine," she sensually trails her lips across his skin, "Because, I'll just have to do a better job than her."
.....
Once Lyn got changed, they headed down. From the looks of it, everyone's still fighting. The song of darkness must have caused their infiltration to lessen. However, he spots the lilac-colored cross in the air, "The others are making a move. If so, then we can easily proceed on to the next stage. Kazuya, the state of the battlefield. Before you left, how was it?"
"Everyone was in position and proceeding well. But that was five hours, or so ago, by now they must be tired. Even the strongest of people break down after fighting for half a day," Kazuya explained.
" . . And that song of darkness is still going on strong. I'd probably be able to counter it though, so I should meet with the others as quickly as possible."
"Huh, right?"
Even though they were getting in the mood earlier, she's quick to change gears as usual. Although he supposed it couldn't be helped, he was the one who taught her to separate her private life and work life. Because if you don't, then you'll end up like him. Back then as much as possible, he ensured that she would turn out into a good inspector. He taught her, but he made sure he didn't go overboard because he didn't want her to purge into darkness.
If Kazuya knew from the start that her gaze had already longed been tainted; then he would not have approached her at all. However, even if he didn't - their paths would have crossed, eventually. Their relationship started when he found on that day, and coincidentally enough, they became partners.
Kazuya intended to maintain a distance to a certain degree, but that's not what ended up happening.

Mist Kingdom Year
The number of imaginary cases he throws at Lyn increases. Kazuya didn't want to attend the ambassador meetings too much. They were already bad before, but, 'Damn, that Lethia,' quite some time had passed since that time the girl supposedly confessed her feelings for him. Kazuya knew this entire situation would be a messy one. Lethia is not the type of woman to give up once she declared something.
But Kazuya didn't think she would start leading the meetings. Kazuya kept this from Lyn knowing full well what the girls' reaction would be. It would be pretty bad if she found out. Lyn hides it well, but she is very insecure when it came to her sister.
Insecurities, huh? Even he has them, a lot of them. For example, people looking at him for a longer period than necessary. It reminds him of the facility. The people there would stare at him for an extended period, and 'asses him.'
Kazuya dislikes the look the General gave him whenever he met with Lyn, or whenever they whisper. The General always thinks that he is a bad influence and thinks that whatever he is telling Lyn is a conspiracy. The General isn't completely wrong. Kazuya knows that he is a bad influence on Lyn.
While Kazuya didn't care what people said about him, while he is conscious about getting stared at since that evokes past scars, Kazuya rarely cared if people insulted him. One, he was used to it and two it didn't matter what happened to him. But Kazuya cared about what happened to Lyn.
Kazuya pulled out a pipe and inhaled deeply. He needs to snap out of it. How on earth can he do this mission in this strange mood of his?
'Lyn doesn't like it whenever he smokes,' but Kazuya wanted to get rid of the frustration he felt from that meeting. Everybody was on Princess Lethia's side. With way, they were trying to set them up together too. How annoying.
"You are getting softer leader," Fukami commented.
Kazuya looks at him. "Do you want to challenge me to a match again?"
Fukami laughed, "Oh, no. No."
"It's been a while since the last time we sparred, though. Are you sure? It will help you," Kazuya said. Rather he was just itching to erase his thoughts.
"Yeah, well uh you know there are things I have to do," Fukami said. Fukami retreated at full and dignified speed, leaving him alone.
Kazuya immediately understood why Lyn would be here soon. He looked at the pipe in his hands and put it away. He reached over and pulled out the bouquet of flowers he bought her earlier, will she smile when she sees this?

Present
Before long, he ended up falling for that smile of hers.
Before long he counted the days, to the very hours and minutes until the next time they saw each other. Contrary to what it seemed like, he looked forward to those times he could spend with her.
Kazuya's thoughts broke off when he felt Lyn's gentle hand on his face, "Kazuya, what's wrong? Do you need a hug?"
He wasn't supposed to come back to her, but now that he has. He will protect her forever. 'When the time comes for the two of them to separate, could he let her go?' Lately, Kazuya has asked this question to himself repeatedly even though he wants to be with her forever.
"Kazuya?"
Kazuya bent down and whispered something in Lyn's ear, the girl's eyes widened, and he clenched his fist when he saw the girl's tears.
"That's why I can't face you lately. I...I don't deserve you, Lyn."
Lyn shook her head, "Kazuya, you have nothing to feel sorry for."
But how can she still like him when he has killed countless people without questioning whether it was right or wrong? Killing people under other peoples orders? How can she still love him when he's harmed so many people with his abilities? It made little sense to him. How can this girl still love him so much?
"You cried," Kazuya started, "You obviously.." he swallowed his words. She obviously what? Obviously dislikes him too? But Lyn didn't say that and if she hated him, why would she still hold onto him? Even now, the girl had yet to leave his embrace. Should he move away from her?
Just as Kazuya thought that he felt Lyn's lips on his.
"I love you, Kazuya; I love everything about you. I'd never leave you."
