Chapter 191 - Thoughts

Allen was not in the best of mood when he left the Toga household. A deep sigh escaped his lips; he was currently training in his temporary residence. It's not as though; he didn't understand. But Lyn's family circ.u.mstances are far too dangerous; he can't just expose that man like that. Besides, it would ruin the royal families' reputation; it would affect Lyn a great deal. Her existence is still hidden despite many people learning about her as each day passes by. He needs more time, more clues. Until Allen safely finds a method to deal with that man, this is the only way.

His thoughts broke off when Carlo appeared; his aide silently handed him some reports, and Allen placed his sword back down. His gaze hardened when he saw what was written on the sheets.

Unbelievable, yes this ought to be a mere coincidence. But these reports. Allen exhales deeply, out of all the times they have to go to the mountain region. It's when the air of miasma is terrible. For the brunettes guards who came with her, it would be fine. But for those who have darkness inside of them, it would be bad.

That guy just has to push on such a troublesome task to him. Doesn't he not know how alike those two are? If it isn't one, it's the other. Out of all the other people - why did that woman have to come? His promise with brother aside. He can't leave Lyn and that idiotic guy there for long. The miasma usually won't harm them, but when the air is bad, it becomes a toxic poison for those who have darkness inside their bodies.

"Carlo. Fetch me my cloak."

"What? Prince, it's dangerous. "

"Nonsense. The air of miasma will not affect a descendent from my family. " But even if it were too; it would get destroyed immediately.

Moments later, Carlo returned with his cloak, and Allen left the room. 'That careless girl,' Allen thought to himself. Right now Lyn should stay out of harm's way, right? He only sent her group in the direction of the info broker that Kazuya knew.

...

Arriving at the mountain region, he clenched at his fist. The entire place was covered in a purple fog, the air was foul, and no signs of life could be found. However, Allen knew they were still around.

"Come this way," Allen instructed Carlo.

When Allen finds the group, he frowned at the sight of the pale girl. Ignoring Kazuya, and the others he gently picked her up. "Allen?"

"It's me."

"Allen, I feel so bad," Lyn mumbled. A fit of coughs followed after she said those words.

"I'll take you to my residence."

"Is that such a good idea? The Snow Kingdom people," Carlo interjected.

"It shall be no problem; we could say Lyn snuck out. I doubt anybody would be checking on the residence anyway," this was the reason why he left his carriage in the next town. He doesn't know how long he can mislead them, but for now...

.....

Blue Manor

Allen ran a plain cloth through his sword, wiping the last of the bloodstains on his blade. The third prince let out a soundless sigh as his hands worked around the blade routinely.

He was utterly exhausted and drained of strength; he wanted nothing more than to close his eyes instantly. But, his gaze fell on the bloodstains on the cloth. He tried to get rid of the blood on this blade first. He had no reason to do so regularly, but, 'that girl is sensitive when it comes to blood,' Allen thought. He recalled the first time he realized this and sighed. This is why Lyn cannot go to a battlefield.

Also, leaving stains on the blade would damage the quality of the sword. Seldom people have noticed this though, and such good blades end up getting thrown away. Allen placed the cloth down and looked at his reflection in the side-view mirror. There is blood; he brushed the blood stains away. This should suffice for now.

"Pardon the intrusion, Prince."

"Enter."

"Princess Lyn is calling for you."

"I see.," he puts the sword back in its sheath and exited the room.

"Where did those people go?"

"I believe they are all fast asleep in their rooms."

How many times has he seen this sight before? His beloved fiance confined to her bed, pale and sick? He made his way across the room and Lyn extended her hand out, "Allen? I'm sorry, but I feel bad."

"Where did he go?" Allen purposely left the two alone together, so where on earth is that man?

"Kazuya went somewhere, Allen... You're angry?"

"Your so pale, I'm sorry," Allen apologized. Why on earth did he leave her in that dammed place? Even if it meant risking his life, he could have easily taken Lyn away to safety.

"I'm okay. Allen, how about you? Don't work so much."

What a foolish and naive girl, how can she even be thinking of him when she is like this? Allen gently kissed her fingers, "My dear," he mumbled, "Hurry up and get better. I'll take you on that vacation."

Lyn's eyes brightened at his words.

"Un, I'm looking forward to it! Where are you taking me?"

"It's up to you," but he already made plans awhile back.

Lyn suddenly frowned and lifted the covers to hide her face, Allen blinked. Why is she sulking so suddenly?

"I heard from the others that you're taking another woman to the sea."

Another woman? Allen chuckled, "I'm taking you, my dear, didn't you say you wanted to see the sea before? You said it on your fifteenth birthday." It seems like somebody leaked out the plans he was making. But, for what purpose? The actions his opponents take these days made little sense to him.

Lyn, however, didn't seem to believe him; she looked at him with a doubtful expression.

Allen leans forward and brushes his fingers over the girls' lips.

"This is an invasion of my personal space. "

"I know, and that's why I'm doing it," Allen said with a light smile. If it's something like this, it ought to be okay, no?
