After hearing such a bold declaration, Lyn was restless the entire day. Even at night, she could not fall asleep, so she simply laid there and looked at the ceiling. He loves her that much, huh? Lyn knew that she could no longer act wish-washy on this situation anymore.
...
Following morning
Pupillam arrived with a message from her brother. It turned out that after they parted ways that time, her aide headed right over to where her brother was. The snowfall was heavy today, so training was canceled. At this rate, when will she get to train? Lyn wasn't sure whether she wanted it, anyway. Rhys seems to be able to train her just fine. But relying on Rhys is no good either. Besides, her gaze landed on the window where everybody was acting like children and playing with the snow.
'It does look nice,' Lyn thought. But even Allen is staying indoors. She ought to follow his example. Her weak constitution is bad enough; if she plays outside in the snow, it will get worse.
Everybody was being considerate about it at first and refused to play. But Lyn told them that she would join Allen. However, right now, she was leaving his study with a book in his hand. Lyn had found Allen fast asleep at his desk. Allen is working so hard; she can't disturb him. So Lyn picked up the book she needed and headed out.
Lyn reentered the room she was using as a study and blinked. Thereby the fireplace was none other than her boyfriend.
"Kazuya?" Lyn called out.
"Hey my Lyn," his smile and greeting were the same as ever. For somebody who keeps disappearing, shouldn't he apologize whenever he sees her? Well forget it, the fool looks like he didn't get hurt.
Lyn placed the book down and made her way over to the fireplace, "Not going outside to play?"
"I've been outside a lot lately, think I'm going to catch a cold."
Lyn frowned and brushed her hand across his forehead. Not hot, but his body feels cold.
"Stay inside and get warm."
Kazuya smiled, "There are ways to get warm, come over?"
Geez, "I'll pass idiot, I'm angry at you. I know you told me before that you have a bad habit of disappearing. But you do so far too often," Lyn said with a sigh, "You know we won't be able to spend much time together when we return. So I don't know why you're wasting our time now."
"I'm sorry my Lyn, things have been busy."
'Busy, huh?' Lyn thought. It probably has something to do with the Sound Kingdom Princess or even her sister. A deep sigh escaped her lips. No good, whenever she thought about girls who like Kazuya she ends up feeling very irritated.
"My Lyn?"
She leaned forward and briefly kissed his lips.
"Get better soon."
"Mmmm," Kazuya mumbled. "What's that in your hand?"
"Ah, shaved ice."
"Huh, it looks different."
"Want some?" Lyn offered. "I added some honey and wine too, so it should taste different," she extended her spoon towards Kazuya and he bent down.
"It's sweeter than usual."
"Yeah," Lyn smiled, "This one didn't use the processor, natural is better."
After they finished eating, Lyn proper herself onto Kazuya's lap, and he laughed, "Missed me after all?"
"Of course, I missed you; otherwise, I wouldn't sulk if you meant nothing to me."
"I'm really sorry," Kazuya apologized, "I know I said I'd help you out with the task Prince Ralph gave you. But, it seems like all I've been doing is evading you."
"You say you're busy, but you drop by to see me when I'm fast asleep," she turned around so she could face him, "Are you sulking about something? I thought we were okay, already."
"I thought so, too, why are you crying?"
Tears of anger and sadness flowed from her eyes. These two unbecoming emotions mingled in her tears as they fell on the floor. Lyn knew that she could no longer control her outburst. She's been holding back for so long after all.
"What is going on?! You just suddenly stopped coming to see me. Did I do something wrong? It feels like you're just playing with me."
"I didn't want to see you and Rhys together.'
Her eyes widened at Kazuya's words. Wait; what?
"The princess showed me a vision of the future, and how strong the bond you two had before was," Kazuya trailed off and sighs, "The reason your hesitating is because of Rhys, and not Prince Allen, right? " Rhys doesn't wait for confirmation before going on to say, "Once the Princess speaks with the elders, you and Rhys can be together."
Lyn clenched her fist. "Are you saying, I should be with Rhys? Because your Princess approved, I should. ." Lyn didn't want to finish her sentence. Why is this guy so ridiculous? "How many times do I have to tell you this?! Stop trying to decide for me?!"
Rather she thought that they already got past this matter. Lyn pinched Kazuyas cheeks, "That's enough already! I told you so many times before. Don't listen to what other people say; you have to decide yourself. If you felt uncomfortable about me hanging around Rhys, just say so. Don't keep quiet. I'm not a mind reader. Rhys is important to me, yes, and so is Allen. But Kazuya, you're the only one I can say the words I love you too. Do you understand why?"
"I..."
"Because I love you, Kazuya. My feelings towards other people may not be simple, but I can't tell them these words. I can only say them to you, so isn't that enough evidence?"
For somebody like her, who only just learned about love. This is all she can do to prove her sincerity. She wonders if Kazuya understands? If he doesn't, then all she has to do is prove herself to him. Kazuya answered her thoughts by brushing his hand across her cheek and softly calling out her name, "Lyn..."
