Lyn froze when she realized what she was thinking about. Rhys? Why does she have to make such an effort to meet with that idiot, anyway! He doesn't deserve it. Even though he said, he would respect her privacy. Kazuya didn't know what was going on though. Lyn felt terrible about it, should she tell him that Rhys keeps trying to go overboard with her? But if she does, won't that lead to them fighting again? So many problems. A deep sigh escaped her lips, why are things like this now? She truly doesn't understand. When did her life, no her love life become so complicated?
Love, huh? It's still so foreign to her. But she isn't the only one.
Big brother, the two of them are really huge fools.
"What's wrong, Lyn?"
"Could you get me some food? I'm hungry."
Kazuya nodded, and he gently kissed her forehead, "Okay, wait here for a bit."
..
The darkness surrounded her. Almost suffocating. It was similar to drowning; she spent years abiding the rules. She never tried to escape while she craved to see the outside world. Lyn never pushed her limits. But slowly, Lyn learned the truth about the town - about the Empire. When Lyn realized that everything she believed in was wrong, she did not know what to believe anymore. It's not like she thought the Empire was perfect. From her brother's teachings, Lyn understood better than anybody that the Empire had its flaws. But even then she hoped that it was not like that. Deep down, she wanted to think that
Her first thought when Lyn looked out of the window was of him. Without looking, she found the box of cigarettes which she kept on her bedside table and the small lighter. It was not a pipe. But it would do, recently she has had a bad habit of lighting it like a type of incense. It was oddly addictive, in just a matter of minutes, smoke appeared in the air.
The word perfect had always been foreign to her. But in the last few years, Lyn started to realize just how useless she was. She benefit the Empire, at least with the way things are. She could not interact with others properly due to her isolation. Society's values - what is right and wrong, she didn't know. All Lyn knew was everything in her small space. Beyond those walls, she knew nothing.
Lately, however, Lyn is noticing that it would make no difference whatsoever. Now that she's had a taste of real emotion, experiences, relationsh.i.p.s. Now that she's experienced this - the feeling of having somebody love her so much. Why would she let it go?
The happiness she felt for the last few years, the happiness she convinced herself to believe was a faint memory to her.
Lyn had long realized that happiness wasn't just handed to one, but rather it was the result of finding it yourself. It was usual for her to feel alone, no matter how many people stood by her. The loneliness would creep on her like a possessed spirit. It would not leave her alone.
Whenever she is alone, Lyn would think back to the past. She missed those times where she was genuinely naive and did not know anything. She missed times in which she could feel happy towards the Empire that she was protecting. Now that she knows the truth, it was hard for her to look at things in the same light.
Her thoughts broke off when she hears Kazuya re-enter the room; Lyn put the cigarette away. He walked over to her and hugged her, "My Lyn, you'll catch a cold here."
"Kazuya," she wanted to tell him everything. If she could, then she wouldn't feel so damned guilty every single time. "Kazuya, I want to do some kissing…"
"My Lyn, if you keep acting boldly. I think we will have problems."
Problems?
"I'm still a man, Lyn… So…"
Lyn pulled away slightly and saw his blushing cheeks. Her gaze softened, 'He truly treasures her.' So many people have insisted that they care about her. But, only a few - only Kazuya has made her feel this way. Big brother, you once told her people like them couldn't fall in love. However, since she met Kazuya, she can smile more, so maybe it isn't impossible?

He doesn't understand why Gabrielle still insisted on not resting. His gaze flickered towards the woman who was reading a book in front of him. Her injuries must hurt; why does she keep insisting on moving around? "I didn't think if see you with Sir Kazuya of all people."
"I simply ran into him."
"My Lord, did you buy something in town?"
Does she know already? Andrew immediately panicked. Gabrielle chuckled, "I wonder who the lucky person is. My Lord seldom buys gifts for people. Is it for Lyn? You should have given it to her earlier…"
He has been neglecting Gabrielle too much and focused on Lyn. He indeed spent most of his time focusing on the matters with his sister. However, that did not mean that he paid no attention to her. Ever since that time a few years ago, Andrew realized that he genuinely wanted to make things work with Gabrielle.
But, with his workload piling up. He's not had much time to focus on it. However now? Now things were different.

A few days ago
Andrew found his sister perched on the window staring aimlessly outside. It always pained him whenever he saw her like that; he knew how much she craved freedom.
So he keeps her company, for the last few minutes; however, there is nothing but silence between them.
"It's only natural that, as early as their teens fall in love, start dating, lose interest, and break up, and form ordinary relationsh.i.p.s. There's real love, they say…Those people seem quite far away to me," she mumbled.

Present
Real, love? Andrew still didn't know what that was. But he was genuinely trying to learn. He wanted to learn more about people, more about their emotions. But even if he did, what good would it do? He's never once had any desire towards the throne. So, when he found out that Mother intended to give it to Lyn. Andrew focused on building a strong foundation to make it easier for his sister.
He neglected Gabrielle and only focused on the future of the Mist Kingdom. The hidden gem of the royal family, his little sister. But perhaps he should have focused more on his fiance. Now that other men are in the picture, he's suddenly reacting. A deep sigh passed his lips, how ridiculous and foolish. He rubbed his forehead, and Gabrielle spoke up.
"Do you have a headache, my Lord? Should I fetch some medication?"
"No, it's nothing," it isn't anything. He's just acting like a fool. What use is it thinking about these things now? It's not like anything would change. It's all hopeless. But, even though he knows that how come deep down, he's thinking something else?
It's ridiculous, so why...
