One day, your painful memories will definitely become the knowledge you need
to protect yourself and the people you love.
His words, even now are so very dear and so so very important to her. That's why she will take that step forward, no matter what happens. Even if it means staining the hands, you once held so preciously and called gentle even if it means destroying everything that you built for her.
As a person born through nobility, the princess of the king and Queen. That meant that from the very moment of her birth, she would be targeted, though it was a blur to her now - how it happened. Who did it, but after she reached six years old, she was taken away from the palace and locked away in a facility. Whether it was because of her status or her unusual power - but every single day she was tested continuously on.
Every single day. She tried to remain strong, and yet as each day passed - the more tests were done to her. Eventually, her feelings became numb, and she was already starting to forget it. The outside world, the brightness of everything. Yet when she thought about it carefully. She was always locked away in the palace and could only wander around in the grounds. So it honestly didn't make a difference. In that place, it was also suffocating. That's why it's okay if she gives up hope. That's what she thought until she met him.
Does he remember what he said to her then?
The sound of leaves swaying in the wind, the scent of sweet flowers. The soft sunlight was brushing against their skins.
It's beautiful. She guesses it's like this everywhere else too. The air and breeze here is so nice; it's so very relaxing. 'What a waste.' Why did she say something like that? She should have let it go. Saying such things to his mature eyes. It's just why is it so sad. Maybe she should start acting more wifely now. Oh, but if she does would Kazuya be upset with it? The black-haired woman deeply frowned, but Kazuya still has a fiance...
Lyn frantically shook her head. No no in the first place this whole thing is strange. Right now, she has to focus, she has to be able to study properly, so she doesn't make a fool of herself. To do that she should ensure that her feelings are in tac. Now that Lyn thought about it, Kyou said it didn't he? That this world is nothing but a small community, indeed she cannot disagree with it. The world is so vast, and yet it's so small, this large sky that outstretches further and further are all connected to each other.
"Alright! I'll work hard on acting more wifey towards Allen," she exclaimed at least until those annoying rumors have settled down.
"Stop acting like a fool. Like you need to do that now," a sharp voice interjected from behind her.
Lyn turned and spotted Allen behind her, "Your majesty, what are you doing out here so late?" She was genuinely surprised to see him. Usually, he would be far too busy with work.
"I should be directing that question at you. What are you doing in a place like this?"
"I came to look at the stars."
He's not saying anything; he isn't interested in this stuff after all, huh? Even though she thought she changed his mind regarding this stuff. It appears as though that's not the case even now, huh?
"Are you going to repeat it? That they are just stars?" Lyn challenged.
"Do not pick a fight with me. They are just stars." Allen stated. Irritation filled her eyes then, he doesn't get it at all, does he? He slides up next to her, "But, well, I suppose. I do get the feeling that a long time ago they shone much brighter."
A long time ago, huh? Didn't that person say it, the story about their family? So that's the reason why, why his gaze is so cold despite him being such a gentle and kind person. "Didn't you say to sing, you have to feel the beauty of the world? Why is that condition necessary?"
"It is necessary to make the song. The environment, my interactions with people. I take it all inside me. If this fails, I will not be able to sing. That's why people's feelings must be connected." Lyn explained. That's why even if it's painful, even if it hurts so much to the point that she cannot breathe. She cannot fall into despair, no matter how corrupted the world becomes - there will always be beauty in a place that may not be seen by the human eye. Yet without a doubt, it is there.
Her thoughts broke when she hears shuffling and found that Allen had wrapped his cloak around her. "Allen?"
"The air is chilly out here, be careful."
"Yes, thank you, it's warm." It smells like him too. A different scent than Kazuya, a different sort of warmness and yet it is so very comforting to her.
Feeling his fingers brush across the nape of her neck, she turned to meet his gaze," Allen?"
"Let me touch you, even if it's just something like this. I know you belong to another, so I will not do anything inappropriate. But let me do this much at least."
Lyn grabbed hold of his hand and placed it on her face as she leaned on it. "Very well. Your warm Allen, it's different than Kazuya's, but I really like it." she trails off and closes her eyes. "Say, Allen, I'm selfish after all, aren't I? I should let you and the others go already. I should properly reject them and move forward with Kazuya."
"You cannot; you are still afraid."
"Mm, that's true. But, I can't keep this up forever, can I? You know it already Allen, how much I love Kazuya. How dear he has become to me. It's different than when I was with Zenith, these feelings keep on growing even stronger, and I cannot seem to let them go."
Allen nodded, "I'm aware. My dear, have you not told anybody else yet?"
"I told Zenith. But, at the same time, it felt like I was deliberately missing some details out," she mumbled. No that's exactly what was going on. Even when she confines in somebody, she always ends up leaving something out.
"I see, Lyn, I have always wondered about it why a girl such as yourself have to deal with such a heavy burden on her shoulders. Why your small and frail shoulders have to carry the burden and the fate of the world, you may have grown longer legs; your body may be that of an a.d.u.l.t now. However, in my eyes, you are yet still a child. A child who is still wandering and lost, someone who although has found their answer cannot accept it. My dear, you have to face it properly. Only then can you and Kazuya be happy."
Lyn stepped away from him and walked a few steps forward. She knew he was still waiting for a reply behind her, but Lyn did not know what to say. No, she can't say anything.
