Chapter 282 - Decision

Right now he probably sounds uncool saying all of this. But it was something he had always wanted to tell her. To his surprise, the grip on him tightened. "Lyn?"

He wondered what his old teacher would say if he were still around. Would he reprimand him for getting too involved, too attached despite being someone completely different? Would he get lectured? Heh, yeah that's for sure. He would get shouted at for sure. But if that guy were still around, he would also say those words, ' Even if we are bound with old rules and traditions. It doesn't mean you can't think for yourself. Boy, you can make your own decision.'

Back then, Kazuya didn't understand the deep meaning of those words, that wasn't until he met her, and everything changed. Everything changed in his life, and that's why he doesn't have any intention of letting her go.

He had every intention of kissing her then, yet as his gaze landed on her expression, his eyes went wide. Kazuya already noticed how incredibly flushed her face was, but...

"Time out…" she mutters.

Eh?

She suddenly backed away and in doing so quickly stood up, wrapping her scarf around her and grabbed her bag. Kazuya too completely puzzled, "Eh, what's wrong?" Why does she seem so panicked?

"S-sorry, it's really late. I need to get back.." Lyn stammered.

Late? It's only eight. "…The General will be worried…and t—h—inking about it now I'm missing an important lesson."

Once he heard her reasons, Kazuya nodded in understanding.

"Ah, then I'll walk you back," Kazuya offered, getting ready to grab his cloak which was hung on the rail.

"N—o it's fine I should go alone."

"But," Kazuya had an uneasy look on his face. Leaving Lyn alone isn't good. Even Prince Andrew and Lady Gabrielle got attacked in the main grounds.

"I said it's okay," Lyn insisted. He watches her put her shoes on in a rather clumsy manner, as she turned to face him. Her cheeks still a bright shade of red, as she attempted to hide it from him with her scarf, "So see you tomorrow, Kazuya.."

Kazuya could only watch stunned as the black-haired girl left.

The moment she was gone, he placed his hand over his mouth, covering his own red cheeks. "Gee, what's with her?"

She really will be the death of him one day. He wasn't ready to admit it, even to himself, much less aloud, but Princess Lyn had wormed her way farther into his heart than anyone else ever had. She had invaded, taken over, and ruled him. And damn if he didn't want to rule her heart too. Her whole heart, not just this fleeting moment. Though he had to admit that so far it was going well, once that guy shows up again, there will definitely have a problem … Listen to him, doubting her right after she made that heartful declaration to him.

He out a deep sigh and made his way back inside and slumped on the sofa. As he does so, he spots gold on the area she just sat in. He reached over only to find that it was none other than a necklace. She had something like this on her? Kazuya didn't know where she got it from, but somehow he was getting an irritating feeling inside of him. Damm it, he really is no good at this stuff.

As Lyn rushed down the corridors, she was aware of how flushed her face was… People all around her have told her that Kazuya isn't a simple guy. He isn't a fool who is always smiling. Lyn thought she already knew that, but she recalled how just a few minutes ago - how close the two of them were.

"Princess Lyn?" a concerned voice called out. Seeing Pupillam alongside a group of Knights, she grabbed her aides hand and dragged her away before anybody could say anything.

Once they were far away, she lets Pupillam go, and slumps on the ground..

"Princess, what's the matter? Are you sick…"

"I...I think I might," she might really like him? That sounds so stupid. It's true that initially when he asked her, she didn't have romantic feelings for him. Lyn just wanted to try and get rid of her feelings and fall in love with somebody who isn't Allen.

Pupillam seems to have understood since she deeply sighed, "Princess Lyn, I will ask you a serious question now okay?"

"O—Okay?" Her head still felt fuzzy. She could feel her heart increasing; nevertheless, her palms and face were still sweaty. This is the first time she has felt like this before.

"Do you want Sir Kazuya to become your King?"

At that comment, her eyes widened. Ah.. even though she's mentioned nothing about wanting the throne to Pupillam before. Pupillam noticed it, of course, she did. This person has always been very loyal to her - but if she were just loyal, then she wouldn't have noticed.

"Yes, yes, I do."

The throne and Kazuya… She wants them both. She wants Kazuya to become her King. No matter what happens, her conviction on this won't change. For a long time, no ever since she as whim, she may have already thought. 'This is the person whose hand she wants to hold.'

"Then, I Pupillam Consilario will make sure it happens."

"Pupillam.."

Pupillam smiled, "You don't have to worry Princess Lyn. I'm sure you'll be fine, you've already decided what you want to do. Unlike before, you have a goal. The Princess, who has something she is aiming for, is very cool to me."

...

Once she calmed down, Pupillam passed her some water and snacks. "I apologize, this is all I can offer right now. Once we get back to your room, Princess, I'll have them prepare a better meal."

The two of them were sitting down on the steps in the corridor. Pupillam wanted to find a better place for her. But Lyn told her that she didn't want to attract too much attention.

"Yummmy," Lyn bit into the bun.

"Princess, would you like me to pass on a message to Sir Kazuya?"

"A—bout what?"

"That you'd like to see him tonight."

Lyn frantically shook her head, "Please give me time.." If she saw him today, Lyn knew she would make a fool of herself.

"But Sir Kazuya is leaving tomorrow morning."

At that comment, Lyn sighed, 'That stupid guy doesn't sit still.' She slowly nodded, "Okay." Even though she told him she wouldn't meet with him till tomorrow if he's leaving there isn't much she can do.

"Lyn? What are you doing here?"

Ah, Lyn turned to see Rhys, and she immediately looked away. Rhys had just finished taking a bath it seemed. His robes were fit on loosely. "I'm resting. I'm a bit tired."

Rhys bent down, and before she knew it, his hand is on her forehead. "You're tired? Do you have a fever? You should rest--," Rhys sentence fell short when Pupillam took a few steps forward. "You again? Remember how I held back before. I won't do it again."

Pupillam smiled, "Do you think you were the only one holding back?"
