It was accidental on his behalf. He didn't mean to fall in love with the girl the elders were curious about. He first met her in the park that day, and ever since then, his thoughts had been filled with her. When they assigned him the task, it pleasantly surprised him who the subject was. Kazuya wanted to laugh when he heard the purpose of the job. To seduce the Princess? But he was already in love with her.
That voice, he would recognize it no matter how far. No matter the distance. It felt like somebody was doing it deliberately. Playing a recording of her voice beside him every single day.
"Kazuya! Wow, I'm so lucky! I found you," Lyn immediately ran into his arms. "Kazuya's warmth."
He stared dumbly at the girl hugging him tightly. "Lyn?" He couldn't believe it. Prince Andrew did tell him there was a chance of Zepher allowing her to come. 'Lyn will persist, and he won't be able to resist.'
No doubt that man would not allow Lyn to come here. If the rumors about him are correct, then that means that guy likes Lyn. Why would he let her go when there is a chance of her meeting him? That Zepher person already knows of him, he is sure. Lyn wouldn't hide their relationship in front of somebody who is important.
"Um, um! Kazuya?" Lyn called his name out repeatedly, confused that he wasn't replying.
But he didn't know what to say. No, he had so many things he wanted to tell her. However, the words, where were the words? Why couldn't he say them?
His thoughts broke off when he felt warmth on his lips only to discover that Lyn was kissing him. In that second, something broke inside him; this was Lyn. This was the girl he had been waiting for, the one who he had been longing for every day.
Sweet, so very sweet.. Her hands made it's way to his face, touching his skin so soft and gentle, caressing his cheeks and then stay there, force him to let her kiss him. At first, Kazuya continued to enjoy the feeling of the girl's lips on his when he realized something. Why is he letting her doing the kissing when he could be taking advantage of this moment?
So, he takes control. He touches and kisses her with more passion than he ever thought was even thought was remotely possible. He wasn't just kissing her; he was touching her through her clothes. Even without feeling her bare skin against his, it was more than enough for Kazuya. Lyn's face was flushed red, and there was no stopping those cute sounds from escaping her lips.
Eventually, he had to stop since Lyn was out of breath. The moment he let her go, she hits him.
"Stupid!" Lyn exclaimed. "What on earth did you just do there?"
"I believe I kissed you."
Lyn looked at him like he was stupid, and for a moment, Kazuya thought the same. No matter how much he missed her, he shouldn't have done that. Just as he was about to apologize, Lyn laughs.
"Well, I don't hate it. So I'll let you off."
Didn't she hate it? Kazuya remained frozen for a bit but quickly regained his senses. He gently kissed her forehead and told her how much he missed her. Lyn was pleased with the attention he gave her and how he was pampering her cheeks with light and sweet kisses.
"Sometimes, I wish we could return to the past."
Whenever he hears those two words, he gets reminded of those times where the two of them could be as close as they wanted. Despite the many rivals then, he could spend a lot of time with her and nobody would complain. Even before they began to date, he was already granted the privilege of being able to touch her regularly.
A time period where they could spend their days laughing and getting angry whenever they want. Such days are over, they are all a.d.u.l.ts now, and they have to take their responsibilities seriously. Although one would not describe him as a serious person, and indeed he has to admit that laziness is in his personality.
His gaze fell on, Lyn, "You snuck off?"
"Well, he told me to wait for a bit, and I just left. So I suppose in a sense, yes, I did."
"You'll get in trouble."
"I don't care."
And Kazuya knew that she didn't care at all. Whether she gets in trouble or not, Lyn won't trade this moment for anything in the world. It always struck him as odd that the girl he likes returned his feelings. Ever since he was younger, Kazuya already classified the word happiness as something foreign. A person like him does not deserve happiness, nor does he expect to feel the same warmth as other people.
Whenever he saw those couples in the streets, Kazuya always felt uneasy. It felt like they constantly made him to watch a play about a life he could never have. He brushed his fingers across her cheeks; she's thinner than he last remembered. A lot paler too, didn't she go to her brother to get better? This was one of the reasons Rhys gave him to persuade him to stop his search.
While he stopped the search officially, the one involving Prince Andrew's men, it didn't stop him from conducting his search when nobody else was looking.
"Kazuya," Lyn pouted. "We haven't met in so long, but you aren't paying attention to me... Should I kiss him again..."
A chuckle escaped his lips, what is she thinking?
"I don't mind. Kisses, Lyn."
Because he didn't mind, he hasn't seen her in so many days, so many hours and minutes have gone by. He wanted to make up that lost time. If kissing would make things better, then he would let her do that.
Lyn smiled, "But you know, I'd like to talk to."
"Alright," Kazuya agreed. "Answer my question. Why do you look so thin? You've lost a lot of weight."
"I wanted to meet with you so badly."
The words barely left Lyn's lips since she burst into tears. Huh? Wait what? Wait a minute? Kazuya stared at the girl dumbfounded. He was always weak when it came to people crying in front of him. He never knew what to do. There was one thing he could never stand more than anything. Those who cried because they had hidden motives. Those who faked their tears, and yet people believed them. Lyn wasn't one of those people, Kazuya knew that better than anyone. But it still left him uncomfortable.
Hesitantly Kazuya wiped the girl's tears with his fingers. "Don't cry, Lyn."
"I missed you so much, Kazuya."
It pained him whenever she cried because he knew her tears were genuine. "I missed you too," Kazuya squeezed her hands. "Come back with me?" He knew it was too much to ask, but it wouldn't do him any harm to try. Besides, at the end of the day, it would be her choice. She is the only one who can decide who she wants to be with.
Sure enough, right after he asked this question, a complicated look emerged on the girl's face. He didn't ask her this so it would trouble her. Kazuya was about to tell her to forget it when Lyn spoke up.
"I'd like to go with you, Kazuya. But I'm worried about my brother. It seems like he's planning something large, I want to be there to see what it is."
