As long as there are people in the Empire who stick with old values, then nothing will change. As long as there are people like her sister around then... Change? It's impossible. The only way to satisfy the people is with a strong ruler, somebody with not just power but the charisma to lead them. Lyn didn't know whether she had charisma, but she understood the people. At least, it's better than her sibling's understandings.

At XX Mansion
A certain man with hair sat down on the couch reading a newspaper. He was aware that the girl had escaped hours back, but he didn't bother bringing her back. Zepher understood the current situation better than anyone. He already promised the girl that he wouldn't tie her down. Unlike earlier, his fever had subsided, so he was able to walk around. Still, he chose to sit in the lounge and read the news. It seems like Andrew has suppressed the news regarding Lyn, but how long?
"Also, transfer my wages into her safe."
"Then, even the money from the H regions?"
"Make it all, aside from one."
"Sir, you're really pampering your wife."
Zepher's lips curve to a smile, "If I don't pamper her, who else will?"
His thoughts broke off when the doors opened again. It was Lyn. She was peeking through the door cautiously. "Lyn, come inside," he looked over at the other person in the room who quickly scurried out.
"Okay," Lyn made her way inside the room. Noticing how slow she was, he sighed, and she flinched. She immediately increased her steps until she was only a few feet away.
"Get closer."
"I'm sorry for sneaking out, brother," she reached out and extended her hand. Zepher grabbed hold of it and pulled her into his arms. "Are you angry?" The girl's tone was questioning; she seemed to be vaguely shaken about something.
"I'm not angry. I told you I don't intend to keep you as a caged bird. You can fly wherever you want to. But, make sure you come home to me."
"Okay, brother, I understand. I'm a bit tired, could I go to my room and rest?"
Zepher nodded, "Alright."
He lets Lyn go, and the girl bowed before rushing to the door. She paused for a moment, "Goodnight, Zepher."
Before Zepher could react, the girl was already out of the doors. A deep sigh passed his lips, 'That caught him off guard,' Zepher thought. The girl has insisted on using brother this entire time. Unless they are in front of other people, he doesn't correct her anymore. That girl will continue insisting that brother thing. Calling him Zepher so suddenly, is she going to apologize for her upcoming careless actions? How simple.
As much as Zepher wanted to watch over her, he knew that he had a lot of work to handle. Many people oppose to the two of them being together. That is only normal, but even then, Zepher was not going to let anybody stop him anymore.
He stood up and left the chair and walked towards the window. Even from here he could see the lights from town. This place will only be safe for a short while. Eventually, he will have to bring Lyn to another place.
The only other safe place would be another Kingdom. When he thought about the status of the other Kingdoms, Zepher frowned. 'The Sun Kingdom, should he bring Lyn to that place?' For a while now, Zepher was thinking about the list of safe places. Why did he think about that place? It was stupid. While those people have tried contacting him over the last few years, Zepher has ignored them.
So they hear he got kicked out? Or maybe they were part of the plan too. It wouldn't be a stretch to say that they were the ones who requested it. He shook his head, forget this. He ought to go to sleep. It's late, and he has a meeting tomorrow. With this in mind, Zepher made his way out of the room and down the corridor. After walking for a few minutes, he arrived in front of his room to find a sleepy-looking Lyn.
"Unngh, so tired..."
Zepher blinked, did she get lost again?
As he thought this, he didn't realize the girl had walked over to him. In her half-dazed state, she slumped her head on his chest. "Found brother, goodnight."
He looked at the girl skeptically, 'What is she doing?' Realizing Lyn wasn't awake, but sleepwalking. Zepher sighed, what a troublesome woman. He scooped her up in his arms and brought her to his room. He gently laid her down on the bed. Zepher wonders if Lyn realizes how much he likes her?
Every time he brings up, though, she ends up acting all jittery about it. Still, that won't stop him from telling her.
.....
At Xi Town, the following morning.
The last thing he would expect to find was Lyn and that man together, the one named Kazuya. When he asked Lyn if she wanted to investigate together. For some reason, the girl turned him down for important business. Zepher was not alone; he had other companions with him. But, while they discussed things and inquired around. He didn't have much to do. His gaze drifted towards Lyn and Kazuya. The two both had complicated looks on their faces.
"Lyn, let's listen to Rhys, okay?"
"No!" Lyn exclaimed. "I told you I didn't want to meet with him. Why did you bring me here to see him?"
Rhys?
"This is important, though..."
Right at that moment, the guy named Rhys appeared and embraced the girl. "Alright, you, quit evading me. I'm sorry, already."
"No, every time you apologize, you...you.."
"Quit it, okay? I know you're angry, and I thought it through. I was wrong. But you should understand things from my point of view too."
These three are interesting; Zepher doesn't understand how they can maintain harmony. Isn't it evident that both guys like Lyn?
"I'm angry, but I am worried about you," Lyn looked down.
Rhys smiled, "Yeah. I'm fine now."
'These two act strange around each other.' Still, Zepher had to admit that Lyn looks happy.
"Don't act conceited!"
"Hah? You just ruined it."
"Kazuya, don't you think Rhys is too arrogant?"
Kazuya spoke up, his sweat fell. "Now, Rhys, don't be mean to Lyn."
"Mean? I came here to apologize, and she insults me."
He wondered why this sight made him feel all warm inside. Zepher made sure the group couldn't see him and observed for a while longer. These two guys are the ones who changed Lyn, aren't they? What is Prince Allen doing, his fiance is getting snatched away so easily? But then again, one can't help but pity that kid. He grew up in a very traditional manner. He's worse than Andrew. It's normal that Allen doesn't know what to do when it comes to love.
His gaze fell on Lyn - Kazuya had bought her some food from the nearby vendor. The girl was happily eating away. Rhys brushed his fingers on the girl's lips wiping away the crumbs, causing the girl to get fl.u.s.tered. But she immediately dismissed it by stepping on his foot. These three act so naturally around each other, it must be nice.
