His honest and sincere words made her feel very happy. Why wouldn't it? But even then, her gaze fell on Kazuya. Sweat covered his entire face; his breathing became increasingly unsteady. This doesn't look good for him at all.
"Even if," Kazuya started again. "Even if I were to die, I want to leave you with something. Maybe my death would solve things for you. You resolved to become the Queen, Lyn. However, have you forgotten that a Queen can't have a King? Did you forget the troubles and burdens behind taking the throne? Lyn, it's alright. I'll solve all those problems before you take the throne. So, you can rest assured."
This guy is an idiot, what on earth is he thinking of saying such things? Why does he do these things for her? 'It's stupid even asking a question like this.' Lyn knew that better than anyone. Kazuya is exactly like her. He is searching for a place, a place where he can belong in this world. But, no matter how far he travels, he can't find it. What a sad and lonely tale.
Lyn reached over and caressed his cheeks, "Hey Kazuya. Do you want to be my King?"
Kazuya laughs, "Your still asking this? I said I'd be together with you."
"Accept it," Lyn mumbled.
"I accepted it a long time ago."
That's a lie; he's lying. Lyn loosened her hand until it fell from his face. Kazuya was severely injured, so he leaned on the wall for support. Lyn buried her face in her arms and started crying. She didn't want to show him weakness now of all times. However, right now, she can't help it.
Soon, Kazuya will return to the Sound Kingdom. Those people definitely won't let him go for disobeying their orders. When that happens, what can she do for him? Can she stand by his side to the very end?
....
"Lyn!"
Lyn gasped heavily and took deep breaths of air as she opened her eyes. But, the moment she opened them, she felt something wrong. A throbbing pain appeared in her right eye. It felt like it was burning. For a moment, Lyn placed her hand over the pain in her eyes. She wanted to block it - to stop the flames. Obviously, there was nothing there. Still, she didn't remove her hand for a few minutes. When she finally lowered it, she felt a tentative hand reach towards the cotton and cause covering the right half of her face.
Using her left eye, she looked over at the person beside her.
"Kazuya..." she whispered. Lyn scanned the room they were in and immediately recognized the place. It was Kazuya's room in the palace. They've returned?
The bed she laid in smelt like Kazuya, further confirming her whereabouts. So, they came back. A deep sigh escaped her lips. To think she ended up causing this many problems. Then again, her actions recently are beyond reckless. Its no wonder Zepher tried to shield her away. He was doing it for her own good, to keep her safe from harm. To keep her from finding out the truth.
Kazuya said nothing at first, and she felt him gently place his hand over hers. She felt the warmth of his hands despite the bandages in the way. So warm and comfortable, she can get lost in this warmth.
He leaned into the touch. "You're alright."
Lyn sheepishly laughed, " Yeah. I didn't think there would be a fire. It kinda caught me off, guard.." Right after that conversation with Kazuya, Lyn made
"You're an idiot..."
"I know," Lyn said. She knew it well if her senses worked properly. Then she would have seen that trap and just settled the fight where they were before. This was the first time she actually felt disadvantaged since losing half her powers. "Kazuya?"
"Stay here tonight."
The black-haired girl's face turned red at the suggestion. "I...I can't do that. I need to head back," she stammered.
Kazuya once again closed the distance between them and bent down to whisper in her ear. " You really don't want to?"
"W--ait a minute Kazuya..."
Mou. Why does he always end up like this? Then again, they are in a relationship; they have been for the past decade or so. So what was the issue? It's not like this would be the first time either.
Yet...if they did, then he would notice it, Lyn bites her lip. If he notices, then he would definitely get mad and lose control. She didn't want that to happen; she didn't want to see such a pained expression on his face anymore. Lyn surprised him and landed a quick kiss on his cheek, causing him to blink.
"Lyn?"
"T-that is right now. I'm really tired...I'll stay but...can't we just relax properly?" she requested.
Kazuya sighed, " I guess it's alright."
She lets out a small sigh of relief, as the maroon colored haired boy moved away from her. He stands up and makes his way over to the kitchen area. " I'll make us something. Do you want anything in particular?"
Eh, he's going to cook? " Oh no, the least I can do is ..." Kazuya sent her a look, and Lyn nodded in understanding. " Then... omelet, I suppose..."
"Your cravings really are random," Kazuya called out.
Lyn chucked one of the pillows in his direction, which he easily caught with one hand. "Easy there."
"You asked for it."
Yet they both wore smiles on their faces. It had been a while since they had spent time with each other properly like this. It's nice, but "I can take care of yourself. Did you patch up your injuries?"
Kazuya turned quiet, and Lyn frowned. This guy didn't do as she said. "Fix up your injuries first; otherwise, I won't eat anything."
"Lyn, don't make me get Rhys."
"You can't use that against me besides if you went and got Rhys. He would tell you the same thing."
