Lyn felt conflicted whenever she thought of it this way. Her eldest sister is using fear to control people. She knows everybody is afraid of her, afraid of the power she wields as the First Princess. Eldest sister is taking advantage of that. The frown on her face increased. Why? Why would her sister do something like that? Even if she dislikes people who are not in the same class as her, it does not mean she can treat them as tools.
Eldest brother Andrew may act haughty. However, he cares for his people. He is clumsy at expressing himself, but he cares. He will not disregard a life so easily. On the other hand, her eldest sister will not hesitate using others' lives to save her own.
They are all siblings and share Mother's blood. So, why does her sister act that way? Even Mother does not behave disgracefully. Despite those bad rumors about her, everybody acknowledges that her mother is a good ruler.
Her thoughts broke off when she felt Kazuya gradually get closer, "Kazuya, what?"
"Lyn, can I kiss you?"
Wait; what? After that serious revelation, he's asking for something like that?
Honestly, Lyn noticed it since they met again. Kazuya is clingier and bolder than before. He didn't hesitate when she eventually nodded her head. The way Kazuya kissed her, caught her off guard. A guy with no experience can kiss like this. So, what can a guy with experience do? She already knows the answer to that one because of Rhys. However, getting kissed by Kazuya is indeed special. There is something different about it. Is it because he's the person she loves? If he weren't, would she--
A massive sound passed her lips, and her entire face reddened. What? What did she just do there? "K--Kazuya, pull away."
Kazuya did so and looked at her, confused.
"Uh, well, sorry, Lyn... I used my tongue a bit more."
Well, she already knew he was using his tongue. But, maybe because she was distracted. Lyn didn't realize how deep he was entering her mouth. Why do those words sound so misleading? Lyn looked away, "No lunch for you."
Kazuya's eyes brightened. "Is it homemade?"
"Fufu, it is."
When she saw his bright eyes, all her anger vanished. Well, it seems like it can't be helped. She took out two paper packages out of the basket and then handed one over to Kazuya. Honestly, Lyn wanted to prepare more than this. But, she was worried Zepher would find out and chase after her while Zepher permitted her staying with Kazuya. He definitely wouldn't like it if she went out to the dungeon.
Zepher isn't like eldest brother Andrew or Kazuya, who is overprotective. He doesn't mind her going out into the front lines. However, there is a limit to that - only under the condition that she is healthy. Lately, her health isn't good due to the curse mark. At night it would trigger, and she would end up with a terrible fever.
It happened last night too. Thankfully, Kazuya didn't notice since he was fast asleep. If Kazuya noticed, surely they wouldn't be here today. Lyn opened her package; it was the same as Kazuya's. A sandwich made with lots of vegetables and grilled meat stuffed between the two buns.
Her cooking skills have significantly improved since she started living with her brother. It wasn't up till she moved in with him, did Lyn realize how fun cooking was. It's enjoyable seeing people eat the meals she makes.
Suddenly, she hears her stomach grumble and quickly took a large bite. "It's..really good..."
Kazuya laughed, "Complimenting your own cooking?"
"Maybe I have the talent to become the palace chef."
"Nope, you'll become the Queen. Besides, it would be a waste for you to become the palace chef. I'd rather you stay my personal one."
Geez, how selfish. Still, she glanced over at him and saw him taking large bites of the sand which. It seems like he likes it. Thank goodness, it worried Lyn that he wouldn't like it.
"You got better at cooking."
"Because I had to cook for my brother."
"So, you're saying this is because you were cooking for another man? I don't know how to feel about this."
Lyn laughed, "What other men, he's only my brother."
"Lyn, you already know he isn't your brother. What on earth are you thinking?"
Not her brother, huh? How many times has she heard that? So many people keep telling her that, even Zepher himself. However, after spending so much time with him. Lyn understands already. She isn't stupid. Still, she won't admit it out loud. The moment she acknowledges it is when things change. That's why she won't admit it no matter what.
"So, Kazuya, I have something I want to ask of you."
"Something you want to ask me?"
"Yes, I want you to meet with my sister."
Kazuya looked at her strangely. She knew her request seemed odd. But, Lyn had a plan. "I'm serious. According to what I found out, my sister has been acting strange lately. She won't meet with just anybody."
"Huh, so even those people haven't received any orders from her?"
"Yes, they're probably acting out on previous orders?"
Judging from their complicated-looking expressions, and worn down faces. They must think her sister's odd behavior is because of them. The group calls themselves the army, and wear those dark colors to conceal their natural colors. No doubt under those dark robs, are the color of her sister's knights garments. However, even if sister made a deal with them. She won't accept them into her group of Knights. Her sister is that terrible towards commoners after all.
"You're using me as bait?"
"I want to set a trap," Lyn nodded. "With the way things are now. People won't connect the dots that my sister is connected to all those suicides. They will simply believe it's a coincidence that my sister came to visit. No, even that trace would have vanished by now."
"Your sister is a devil in disguise. But, I'm sure people know she doesn't have a good temper. Yet, because she plays her part as the noble Princess. Nobody says anything to her."
There it is again, the bitterness in his tone when he mentions nobles. Kazuya placed the sandwich down and suddenly pulled her into his embrace. "If I told you that I couldn't live without you anymore. What would you say?"
"Where is this coming from? Did you hit your head?"
Kazuya laughed, "Of course, that's your reaction. Your something, huh?"
Lyn looked at him blankly. Is there something wrong with what she said?
