Lyn felt the air gradually getting colder and colder. But, she didn't back down even once. The moment she looks away from him, is the moment she looses. So, Lyn ensured that her gaze remained on him. To her surprise Rhys suddenly drew back. A frustrated look appeared on his face as he pulled out his pipe from his cloak.
"You know Lyn, if you really want to insist on my feelings and all that. Then, don't blame me if I don't hold myself back anymore."
W--what? Why is he acting all haughty for? What does he mean by that? Is he implying that if he were serious he would succeed in getting her? What a conceited man? Then again, he's always had such strange confidence.
Lyn sighed, "Do whatever you want." She doesn't feel threatened by him at all. She knew her own heart and her feelings very well. No matter what Rhys does, he won't change her mind.
It's true that she does like him a little bit. For awhile she did have a small crush on him, but that's all this was.
Rhys didn't waste anytime grabbing her wrist, more like he yanked it. "Do not ask any questions. Your coming with me."
Lyn as she let herself get pulled away. From the tightness of his grip and the expression he had just then, he's probably angry with her. Though he couldn't say much to her yesterday at the wedding- she knew eventually this would come about. Well the black haired girl tried - she made an effort to get him to stop liking her. However it seemed like that it wasn't enough.
Eventually they arrived at the back gardens of the manor, and pinned her towards the wall in the garden. "Yesterday. What was that?" Rhys questioned, his voice threatening.
"It's exactly what you saw," Lyn muttered. However Rhys wasn't convinced, his grip on her arm tightened slightly.
"That won't work on me. Even if you are a calculating woman. I know you wouldn't do something like that. Your not that kind of person."
Lyn eyes go wide at this comment, so he noticed? So he had been paying attention to her properly. At the beginning the strawberry blonde really did think his crush was anything, she thought it was just a mere crush towards her and he would eventually stop. But from the look on his eyes she knew that she didn't hurt him.
Somebody once told her, that Rhys and her are ill fated. Lyn didn't think about it too deeply then, the meaning behind those words. But now - things have changed. The relationship she has with Rhys is very peculiar. 'She liked him before.' Lyn knew that very well. However, after the time he stopped her from saying her feelings. Lyn felt slightly traumatized. She felt that she couldn't tell him no matter what. She has to deny it, or else something bad will happen.
...
A few months ago.
Her thoughts were broken when someone places there hands on her head, and leaned over. "Yo," Kazuya smiled. He wore his usual signature grin. But Lyn knew something was different.
"Kazuya.."
"So I thought I'd find you hear crying like a baby. But it seems like your not huh," Kazuya joked.
Lyn laughs, "That's cruel." She let's out a weak smile, "But its true that I've been crying a lot. After Rhys knocked me out and I woke up in the barracks I wouldn't stop crying. You wouldn't believe the amount of tears that was coming out."
"Like a bucket?"
"More than that."
"That's really something."
Silence loomed on them for a few minutes, and she felt the air becoming heavy. Eventually Kazuya broke the silence.
"He died for a good cause."
"I know he did," Lyn mumbled. She knew it, that had brother not done what he did. Had he not done that then those enemies would definitely have launched an attack on the castle, taken over her body and would of had the ultimate fighting force. It would be bad for them since they were all still recovering properly from the last attack.
"This is war Lyn, people are going to die. But you probably didn't think that you'd get attached huh?"
Lyn nodded, "That's right, I didn't think I'd become attached. I didn't think I'd be able to get along with everyone so well. I didn't think it was possible for me," she muttered. How is it possible for somebody like her?
"Didn't think you were the negative type."
"Didn't I already brood so much to you before?"
Kazuya laughed and reached over to pat her hair, "For me, that wasn't brooding. Just you trusting me."
...
Present
Attachments huh? In the past year or so it really had been becoming even more obvious to her. It had already become something that she couldn't deny. Rhys had become her most important person, she spent so much time with him. Everything had changed in just the spam of a year.. No Lyn knew that it was already changing when she heard the news of the Sound Kingdom people coming here. It was already evident then.
Her gaze flickered back onto Rhys. His gaze was searched her own for an answer. ' When someone's serious you should answer them properly'. Lyn laughs quietly to herself, remembering his words at a time like this really was strange. What timing indeed. But even though he was a idiot, he laughed cried and got angry too. That person its already been a year since you died. However, Lyn hadn't once forgotten him. She would never forget. Because he was someone who taught her something important.
For that reason, "Rhys."
He loosened his grip slightly upon hearing her address him by his first name. " Let's talk properly." That's right, she couldn't keep on running away from the situation. It wouldn't be right, it wouldn't be fair on anyone.
At that comment Rhys lips curve to a smile, he bent down and closed the remaining distance between them. It was a very brief kiss, but since he used her tongue. She felt breathless and her knees turned weak. It felt like jelly - Lyn slumped on the ground and Rhys wiped his lips.
"I've always liked you better when you're honest. Mmm, you tasted good."
'This idiot!' She knew it! Speaking with this guy is pointless. However, it was worth the try right? Nobody can blame her for this since she tried.
