Chapter 421 - Unfair for him

*UNEDITED*

After he brought her back to her room, Rhys was reading in his room when Lyn asked him to sleep with him tonight. At first Rhys thought Lyn was finally becoming honest, but it seems that wasn't the case here.

Once he finished listening to the girls story, he was dumb struck with what he just heard, "A ghost?" Rhys said.

A sixteen year old princess talking about ghosts; right, he's pretty sure his eyes are just playing tricks on him.

"Yes."

At that comment he turned on his heel to leave, muttering ' stupid' under his breath. What on earth is she thinking? Calling him over for something like that. Just as he was about to turn on his heel to leave however. Lyn reached over and tugged on the edge of his clothing, seeing her desperate face. Rhys turned around.

'Why does she look so cute?' It's unfair for him.

He supposes he should hear her out. She's usually not the type who is scared at this stuff. After all she's always read classical tragedy books. "So, what happened?"

"It was last night, I heard a strange voice and my body felt heavy, like someone was holding me down. How to put it? I felt the weight of another person, and their lips at my ear."

That doesn't sound like a ghost to him. It sounds more like sleep paralysis. That was during the time Kazuya was at work too and he was at a meeting. Could someone have come in here? Rhys frowned when he heard how close this person was to Lyn. Was it another guy? If it was, he needs to check to see if they did anything to her.

"Should I send for more guards?" Rhys refrained himself for asking for more details.

"No, no one would believe me."

True, not many people know that she's being targeted too. Also, what if some of those guards are spies? Even Kazuya's friend who they trusted ended up being a spy. He can't say the others won't do the same.

"You're strong right? You should be able to take care of it."

He would like to remark that she's stronger than him. But the others did inform him that her condition these next few days would derive of her usual strength; so he should increase the amount of petople on guard duty.

"Alright," he agreed.

Even so, guess he could make a prank about this. Rhys proceeded to climb on the girls bed. He carefully positioned himself beside. After a few seconds, he felt the brunette shuffle beside him. He immediately stood up, his face pale. He can't believe that she just went ahead and did that with no hesitation.

Rhys started to scold her, as she sat up, " You actually came to bed with me?" he trailed off. He shouldn't believe his own words right now, "You're supposed to be a princess you know, have more dignity!" he exclaimed.

What's more she's engaged to Prince Allen and has a boyfriend, what on earth is she thinking doing something like this so casually? But then again he recalled the conversation with that person two days ago, it's not unusual. It's true that the Princess is really with that stuff. Geez, such an oblivious and clueless woman!

Rhys glanced over at the girl who sat up in her bed pouting. He feels a tint of red appear in his cheeks, geh what is she doing pulling that sort of face for her? Is this a test or what? She must be testing and messing around with him.

"Should I send word for Kazuya?"

"No," Lyn immediately refused. "Besides, I think you have the wrong idea," she suddenly pulled on a string causing a curtain to drop in the middle of the beds.

"It means, you sleep on that side and I sleep on this side."

Rhys looked at the girl in disbelief. Is she kidding him? She thought she was finally becoming more honest with herself. "Princess Lyn, aren't you a bit heartless?" he emphasized the word heartless. "I got injured for your sake, but your making me sleep on the couch?"

"Then you sleep on the bed, I'll sleep on the couch."

His eyes twitches in annoyance. 'This little girl is driving him crazy.' Lyn has no idea what affect she has on him though. If she knew, would she continue acting this way towards him? Rhys looked her up and down and noticed something. Maybe she's nervous? She boldly asked him if it was okay to sleep together tonight. He already knew what she meant by that, her idea of sleeping together is the literal meaning, and not what he was thinking. That didn't matter to him though, he just wanted to be with her tonight.

She experienced something frightening - and probably feels the need to keep him by her side.

Rhys bite her ear, and Lyn immediately panicked. Her entire face turned red, "I-I'm warning you Rhys, don't do anything uncalled for."

'She turns info a cute pile of mush whenever he goes near her.' Rhys wrapped his arms around her waist and mumbled across her neck, "I love you Lyn."

It didn't take long before Lyn turned around. "Okay, so I think we need to talk about this."

"No need, you continue loving Kazuya."

"But aren't you upset?"

"I'm satisfied," Rhys muttered. He is satisfied with this.

"Are you satisfied Rhys? It doesn't feel that way," she traced his lips. "I wonder why you insist on this pain. Am I worth the sacrifice?"

"You are," he mumbled. "Your worth everything, and so much more... Hey, let's kiss Lyn."

Thump, thump.

"N--no. By the way, that isn't my heart."

"I know, it's mine. My heart is beating so loudly, it's crazy," Rhys said.

"Rhy-" Lyn's sentence fell short when he kissed her.

He's so going crazy, this girl drives him absolutely insane. Rhys is amazed at his self-control. Self-control? The way he was kissing her and trying to pry her lips open. It was easy for him to do so, since Lyn didn't have much strength now.

"Damn, who the heck is it?"

He created the perfect atmosphere there. Who on earth is destroying this moment? Rhys grudgingly stood up and walked over. His eyes widened when he saw who it was.

"Kazuya..."

"Hey, is Lyn here?" Kazuya looked over. Rhys quickly blocked the door.

"She went out, and I'm fooling around.."

Kazuya blinked, "Uh, right sorry! I got in your way again."

"You need Lyn for something?"

"Yeah, if you see her. Can you give her this?"

"A bouquet?"

He laughed, "Well, after what happened earlier. I thought she would like to see something pretty," he trailed off. "If you do see her, please make sure she is okay. She must be frightened still."

With those words said, Kazuya swiftly left the room. Rhys could only stare at the flowers on one hand, and Kazuya's back fading into the distance. 'He got down the hall quickly...' Rhys wondered if Kazuya noticed anything.

Rhys didn't have an excuse for Lyn being in his room during this time at night.

He re-entered the room, and saw Lyn sat down with the blanket clumsily wrapped around her. "Kazuya?"

"Yeah, uh," he looked away, "I didn't want him to see you here, I mean..."

If anybody saw Lyn's appearance, they would think they did something. All he did was kiss her a little.
