Chapter 425 - Like a date

*UNEDITED*

It seems like he does that quite often these days. Freak out around her. Then again, even if he wanted to be normal around her. All his logic flies out of the window whenever he is alone with her. Rhys decided to order some more food for her, "You don't have to eat quickly or hold back. I brought you out to eat because you haven't eaten much lately."

"Ah," Lyn nodded, she agreed with his words. "Lately, I'm helping brother Zepher out with his work."

"Huh? But you haven't gone back to his place in awhile."

"Yes, but he sends me some doc.u.ments over," she explained. "It's very interesting, I didn't know my brother did a lot of internal work with other Kingdoms."

"Make sure you don't tread on thin ice. You know the rules about getting involved with other Kingdoms right?"

"I know," Lyn nodded. "But, I'm not helping out with anything political related. It's just some general events held by the different Kingdoms."

"So, like a sponsor?"

Lyn nodded, "Yes, brother Zepher goes around helping out the villages in need. He sets up clinics and finds crops to grow on those lands. To do this he needs a vast knowledge of all the Kingdoms so..."

"I understand, let me help you."

"You will? Thank you so much."

.....

Two hours later

"Has your group been doing selections of the ancient scriptures this whole time?"

The two of them were on their way home. It was already quite late when he called her out and now it's pitch black almost. That's why he told her to send that message to Kazuya. Rhys kept nervously looking around. Even if they are in the main castle grounds, who knows what could happen?

"Yes. But we've been slacking off for ages, so it'll probably never get done." Because the other members have a bad habit of fooling around. "I mean the only ones who usually get anything done is Beth and me."

"So you and Beth are…"

Rhys recalled what Beth told him on the roof. Is Lyn that bothered by it? Rhys glanced over and saw the troubled look on her face. His gaze softened, 'so she cares?' That was good for him.

"No way," he casually said at first, but realized his mistake a second later, "Of course not," Rhys turned to the black haired girl walking beside him, "Does all of her verbal abuse of me sound like lies?"

Rhys watches the dim gaze in her eyes to brighten, "That's true, how can you insult the person you like."

So she asked Beth that question after all. Even though back when he was openly flirting around ago she never mentioned it. Although she spoke being jealous. Still, he watches the black hair girl talk happily away. He supposed having a talk with her was the best option after all.

"How are things recently? The other Knights, are they treating you well?" Rhys asked. After that last betrayal, Rhys filtered them out one by one. The rest of them should be fine and won't harm Lyn. However, one can't be too sure.

Unfortunately according to his investigation, the other ones are normal. Some have strange backgrounds, but they are mainly the loyal type. Still, if Lyn speaks about them - then maybe he can find something out.

"Chou tends to go for the guys whom are the good looking and smiling type like Aichi, that's why he was bitter towards Iku at first.."she chuckles, "It was amusing watching his challenges being done in three seconds and perfectly too. And then Toujo-san suddenly showed up and challenged them. I was honestly scared when I saw that serious glint in that guy's eyes. He always takes matches seriously after all. Though right afterwards the other members of the cast started asking him for advice. It was nice, since at the start they were being treated as outcasts."

Such a gentle look in her eyes, so this is what the others was talking about. About her experiencing something normal not during her time with Kazuya, but when those other Knights came into the castle.

"You seem like your having a lot of fun," Rhys commented. When Lyn is like that, Rhys is happy for her and yet. 'He feels so distance..'

If Lyn was truly a normal girl, they probably wouldn't have met.

Lyn chuckled softly, " Aha, is that what it seems like? But yes, it is fun. Rhys what about you?"

"Hmm me?"

"Your not going to talk to me about your adventures? I'd like to hear it. Although since it's you, you were probably causing people trouble."

"Hey hey, why do you still have that impression of me?" Rhys felt offended. Why is he the trouble maker and not Kazuya?

Lyn laughed, "That's a secret."

Rhys felt his cheeks redden. Man even now she still does this. Clearly it didn't go unnoticed since she chuckled but he noted that a light pink also appeared on her cheeks. Whether or not it was due to the darkness of the night, but Arashi finds his vision distorting. Or maybe this is what you call being blind in love. Either way, at least he can't mistaken the smile on the

girls face.

Even though she's sixteen it feels like they've returned back to their younger days. It's almost as though there still children. But even Rhys knows better than to delude himself with the thought. They are no longer kids.

"The night's are still cold aren't they?" Lyn commented.

"Yeah."

His thoughts broke of once they arrived at a familiar park. The cherry blossoms are still in full bloom. Pink petals scattering due to the strong wind, he watches the girl's gaze, " So pretty."

Rhys watched as she ran over to the center and started spin around, holding the petals in her hands. He too made his way over, and watched her up close. Lyn huh? Lately it felt like his emotions spiralled out of control. Whenever he went near her, all these emotions he never felt before come spilling out.

"Rhys."

"Hmm?"

"This kind of feels like a date."

At that comment Rhys wrapped his arms around her, "Yeah, it's a date."
